My new insurance assigned me to Clark Dental and I went in recently for a regular cleaning. The care I received was incredibly incompetent. -The cleaning itself took less than 10min and consisted of just a brushing with a rotary toothbrush by Dr. Khoshnood (no hygienist on staff, it would seem). There was no scaling or anything! Typically, even when my teeth have been in excellent shape my cleanings have lasted at least 20min with a thorough hygienist. -I explained that my previous dentist had been monitoring one tooth for potential nerve damage with a cold test at every checkup. Dr.Khoshnood did not even ask which tooth it was or check it. -Dr. Khoshnood miscounted the number of wisdom teeth I have...I mean really. -My partner used the bathroom while he was waiting and said it was dirty and disgusting. I will definitely be switching providers and would recommend you steer clear of Clark Dental. read more

I went to this dentist for the first time to speak about partials. He came into the room and immediately begin to clean my teeth without addressing the reason I was there. After cleaning my teeth I waited for him to mention or say something about the reason I was there, I got nothing. So I initiated the conversation about partials, he wasn't really helpful about the conversation. Shortly after visiting him I noticed how my tooth begin to bother me. Now truth be told, I had a broken tooth in my mouth prior to going to see him, however by him cleaning my teeth mind you without my permission, he woke up the nerve to the bad tooth. I honestly was not in any kind of pain before I went to him. I simply went in to discuss partials. So I went back to this dentist to allow him to pull my tooth, WORST MISTAKE EVER. I called the day of my appointment (May 9th,2023) to make sure he could pull the tooth because I had not consumed all of the antibiotics. The receptionist had the nerve to tell me that I didn't have an appointment, I'm so glad I didn't drive there. She actually gave me an appointment over the phone for the day of May 12th, 2023 for 1:00pm. I accepted the appointment. When I arrived for my appointment it was so hot in the office I started to complain, the receptionist Elsie said there was nothing she could do because this is is how he keeps the office temperature. I felt bad for her because she is really a nice person. Needless to say he called me in the back shortly after I had arrived. The first thing I said to him after speaking was how hot it was in his practice. He did turned the air on, thank God. He begin to count the filling in my mouth, here again without informing me of what he was doing and my question in my mind was, what is he doing, I'm here for an abstraction. So I asked him what are you doing? I believe he was doing whatever he could to add more charges on to my bill. What in the world does counting my teeth with or without fillings had to do with him pulling a single tooth in my mouth? So after asking him what was he doing, he proceeded to numb me up with 4 shots in my mouth. He then went to pull the tooth but I still felt his painful hand. He then gave me two more shots and tried again. I told him that I still feel pain. He then had the litigated gall to accuse me of not taking the medicine as he had prescribed. I TOLD HIM I TOOK IT JUST AS HE PRESCRIBED WHICH IS TWO CAPSULES A DAY, EVERY 8 HOURS. He then went to give me more shots, I refused the shots. He then had the nerve to attempt to pull my tooth while I was still in pain. I TOLD HIM NO AND GOT UP OUT OF HIS CHAIR. I HAVE ONE WORD TO DESCRIBE HIS WORK, BUTCHER. I HAVE TWO WORDS TO DESCRIBE HIS DEMEANOR, MONEY HUNGRY... NEVER AGAIN. I WILL PULL MY OWN TOOTH BEFORE I EVER GET BACK IN HIS CHAIR. DON'T GO TO THIS DENTIST, YOU WILL BE SORRY. Don't know what to say about this place..... Went there with my friend,she had to do root-canal and after waiting 3 days for app. even it was an EMERGENCY,the dentist was like : " well i don't do root canal's ,you have to see a special dentist regarding that.WAUU .....a was like are you for real??? HORRIBLE DENTIST!!! Took my 6 yr old daughter in for a cleaning that took all of 10 minutes. She has a chipped tooth that I wanted him to check out but was told by the dentist that her teeth were in good shape. Will never go back. Thankfully we refused x-rays after his pitiful attempt at cleaning, I'm convinced it would have just been a way for him to add more money to our total bill without actually doing any real work. This is the worst dentist. I came for a first visit that includes general check up, x rays, and routine cleaning. After one look in my mouth the dentist concluded that "you have good teeth but you need deep cleaning," which, he said, would take two visits and additional charges. Later I learned from another dentist that I don't need deep cleaning at all. Meanwhile, Dr Khoshnood, performed regular cleaning - he performed it himself, no hygienist. The regular cleaning consisted of cleaning ONLY the front teeth and only with a rotary instrument. I asked why they don't clean the back teeth, and was told that I it's not necessary since I need deep cleaning anyway. I left this clinic feeling that my visit was completely useless, and that any additional visit could be dangerous. Do yourself a favor and stay away - I too went there because it is close and because I had a new insurance; it's NOT worth it.. read more

I was on vacation when I knew I had to get a root canal. All I wanted was a referral - I wasn't thinking about the crown afterward. So I called this office, without ever having been there, because they were open. And then I read the reviews. And I got scared. But I told myself, it doesn't matter! I just need an x-ray and referral! How bad could it be? I got the referral and had the root canal done (at the specialist, not here). Eventually I had to make an appointment for the crown/post. I put it off. I worried about these other one-star reviews. And then, because the insurance company had assigned me this office as my primary dentist, I made the appointment. Okay, it's not a fancy office. Then again...I've paid a lot more at fancy offices and had to have things fixed. I had an appointment to get a post placed in my far back top tooth and a crown fitted on top. Dr. Khoshnood got in there and started working. He wasn't in a rush, like some dentists are when they are trying to get to the next appointment. He even put some vaseline on my lips because they were drying out a little bit. Normally I'm extremely scared at the dentist. As in shaking, palpitating, gazing longingly at the laughing gas scared. But I wasn't in this case. After a few minutes I was feeling like I did with my childhood dentist that I had been with forever. Actually, I had an older crown that didn't fit with my other teeth quite right but in the process of putting on my new one the dentist reshaped it for me. Now my teeth all go together again! Sidebar: they do a check up and x-rays for $20. So if you don't have insurance right now, it's an affordable way of making sure you can avoid a root canal! read more

This dental office is HORRIBLE! Just like the previous review! I have insurance through All Kids and I was sent here. WORST place ever! My son needed a filling and he said he couldn't do anything! The guy couldn't get the x-ray to stay in my son's mouth. He got upset and my son started to cry. The dentist got even more upset and threw the x-ray and said in a loud scary voice "don't cry!" I was finished at that moment. He said he didn't see a filling from his last dentist in his mouth. He was acting like I was lying! Are you kidding me?! I spent like $500 to get his teeth fixed! I don't recommend this place to anyone! Not even my worst enemy. The place was disgusting too! It was dirty and all the equipment was outdated! One of the assistants was sick too. Puking, I can only assume. She had a bottle of pepto and she was grabbing her stomach and running to the bathroom frequently. Great. Get everyone sick while you're at it! I was furious and I stormed out of there. They referred me to a pediatric dentist. I am not going to take any referral from them! As an adult I found this dentist just as horrifying as the other reviews from children's experiences. This was the least through cleaning yet most painful that I have ever experienced. I also asked him to refill a prescription that two other dentists have given me for the last 15 years and he didn't even know what it was and then had the nerve to ask me if it worked! While the staff and doctors are all very nice, their work is not. Their work wasn't high quality and had to be corrected multiple times. I ended up having to come back a few weeks after my initial appointment to get a filling fixed that wasn't done correctly the first time. Then a few weeks after that, I had to go to another dentist to have the filling corrected as well as another more emergent problem (which resulted from shoddy work) treated immediately. I still have residual issues, which I have never experienced before, since going to Clark Dental. I will not return. read more

I'm not one to write a bad review, because I feel one doesn't always know the whole story, or maybe it was just a one off situation and I don't want to take part in ruining a small business. This place, however, I will make an exception for. I was assigned this place by my insurance at a new job. Thought I'd try it out. Terrible experience. Horrible. Dirty. The dentist was rude, he explain to me that I would need a deep cleaning, then got visibly upset and because extremely rude when I asked if I could just have a basic cleaning in the meantime. His gloved hand kept going from a dirty pen and paper pad to write down notes about my teeth as he examined them, instead of dictating to the hygienist who was sitting there doing nothing. And at the end, as I was leaving and wondering if I'd come back or not, I spotted probably the biggest cock roach I've ever seen in the waiting area. And I've worked in a lot of small family owned restaurants over the years. I've seen plenty of roaches. This one was BIG. If there's one hanging out in broad daylight like that, what's crawling all over everything that goes in your mouth overnight when the lights are out? Don't go there!!! This is one of the worst dentistry in Chicago land area. I just left there. The dentist is so rude and impatient. He does not deserve to be working around dangerous tools and people. It was my first visit. I told him what i wanted and he insist that i come back the next visit. I never planned for a future visit, when I made the appointment I clearly said I wanted a filling and cleaning. One of my fillings were broken, it needed to be fixed. He insist he wanted to clean and i come back for the filling. There was another patient waiting. The patient knew he arrived an hour early, the receptionist even told him. The patient agreed to sit and wait for his turn. The dentist seemed as if he was in a rush, his hand kept shaking as well. I think he may need to retire. He was injecting me for my gum to be numb, after i insist he gives me a filling. He did not say a word to me, I had to ask him how is day was going. I had to ask him what he was doing, usually I want to know the process and what you are going to do. I must say, I do get a little nervous at my dental visits, but i was pretty calm here. The office is unclean! His lab coat had the previous patient fluoride all over it. He was dusty and had stains on his gloves, or was it just dust. His hair had flakes in it. He was really on me, with previous fluoride all over his lab coat. The chair was dirty and office is extremely small as well. Point is I am really observant and the dentist was rude from the start. It had nothing to do with the previous patient because I was there when he had the previous patient. She walked out happy and everything seemed OK. Lets just say, I do not, most definitely do not recommend this dental office to anyone! Please if you want a calm, good experience do not visit this dental. I had an appointment for me and my daughter. After waiting for a long time they finally called my daughter to the back room for service. About 15 minutes had passed and I asked them to give me an estimate of how much longer it will take to be seen. That if they couldn't see us within 5 minutes that we would need to reschedule and to send my daughter up front so that we can leave. The office assistant came back and told me that the Doctor would not be able to get to my daughter within 5 minutes because she was already working on a patient, even though they took my daughter to the back room. I told the office assistant that it was getting late and that I didn't want to spend another Saturday in this office for 3 hours. To send my daughter out now so we can reschedule and leave. The office assistant leaves and come back and told me that the Doctor was getting ready to put Novocain in my daughter's mouth and that she couldn't leave. I told the office assistant that she can't do that because I've already asked her 3 times to bring my daughter from the back room and that at this point I'm not you are holding my daughter hostage. I asked her again to please go and get my daughter. She left again and came back without my daughter and the Doctor came with her asking me if I had a question. I told her no I don't have a question, I want to get my daughter and leave. They would not release my daughter. I proceeded to walk to the back to go find her and the Doctor tells me I'm not allowed to go back there. I told her if she did not stop her foolishness I was going to call the police. I called out to my daughter and she finally came out of the back room. I expressed to the Doctor and her staff that this was the most inappropriate thing I had ever seen and that I was going to report her. She says to me for what doing my job. This Doctors had the worst attitude I had ever seen. It is unfortunate that certain doctors are allowed to treat certain patients with certain insurance with such disrespect.
