Cool new spot right next to The Senator. Went on a Saturday night and the place was hoppin! But we still found a seat for 4 of us. The star here are the fries and the poutine... Very tasty!! This part of my review may not be popular but here it goes... For a cool, hip joint called Clark Burger... Personally I feel they need to step it up in the burger patty department... The pattys were a bit thin for my liking. In my opinion when a place has the word Burger in the name, the star should be the Burger. The bread, toppings and sauces were all excellent but I would have liked a bit more of a healthy patty. That being said... I liked it and I'd go back. When I first came to Clark Burger, they had all the makings of a killer Burger joint, but something was wrong; the Poutine was strong but something was wrong with the burgers. The burgers components were mostly great (bun, condiments and fixings), however the burger patty sucked. The patty was dry and frequently over cooked. I don't know what they did, but the fixed it. I went into Clark Burger after seeing Blade Runner 2024 at the Senator. First time for me in this establishment. my friend and I split a turkey burger (standard toppings with their special sauce) and an order of Classique Poutine. While the beer selection was fine, I have to say that what could have been a scrumptious meal was totally ruined by the addition of WAY TOO MUCH SALT, to the point where the dishes were nearly inedible. I don't know what the chef is thinking, but pouring sodium chloride by the pound into the sauces and poutine gravy is a really bad idea. Customers' tongues do not have to be stung this way. We went here before a show at the senator. We got veggie burgers. They were good. The service wasn't the best they forgot to make my burger so everyone in my party got their food and we had to remind them to make mine. But the burger was crispy on the edges. My boyfriend liked his a little more than mine but he got an egg on his. So get the egg!! All in all I will try again to see if it was a one time fluke with my order. I have been wanting to hit this place for the longest time and finally!!!! The decor is vintage looking on the outside, the inside has a sit down counter a long with tables inside. There is a walk up take out ordering station with friendly service. The one server/bartender suggested I try her favorites...of course I will. The Wake N Bacon burger was delicious. Their bacon game is on point! Fresh patty with flavor hiding under their pillow like buns really hit the spot. I'll try a different burger next time..I'll try to anyway cause this one was good and I'm a creature of habit. Ok I did't come here for the burger, I came here for the POUTINE!! My friendly server said "Get the Alouette Poutine"...OK I said. WOW this dish sent me straight to Canada. The Montreal style smoked beef brisket, minced onion, dill pickles, with spicy mustard was the show stopper! I'd come back just to eat this dish. Insanely delicious burgers, and very convenient if you want to grab some food before a movie. I ordered the Clark burger, which was cooked perfectly and customized to my liking (I swapped out raw onions for sautéed onions at no additional cost). My girlfriend and I also shared a side order of poutine, which was also great. The atmosphere was very cozy and seemed like a great place if you want to hang out with some friends in a more casual setting. I also noticed a great selection of craft beers and various boozy shakes, however I did not partake during this visit. The only downside I can think of is that there were so many unique and delicious looking options on the menu, I found it hard to make up my mind! I will most definitely be visiting again soon! The menu options were inventive. Solid burger choices with lots of loaded fries to choose from. I do wish they explained the ingredients in some of the sauces though. What exactly is Joppiesaus? And what's in the Tiger sauce? What's in the CB sauce? And I'm sure Yum Yum sauce means it's pretty tasty but what exactly is in it? Anywhoo I ordered the Turkey burger sans Joppiesaus (cause again I don't know what's in it) and I chose to go with curry ketchup as my replacement sauce. I hate to be so contentious in such a public forum, but anyone who would describe Clark Burger's poutine as "so-so" simply doesn't know what the hell she's talking about. I'm a recent transplant from Chicago, where poutine is becoming standard fare in many restaurants. Because of its surge in popularity (which has even birthed a food festival exclusive to poutine), diners there are afforded many options of varying creativity and quality. And I can say, with no uncertainty, that nobody is more enthusiastic about poutine as I am. I seek it locally; I travel for it nationally; my tombstone may even read REST IN POUTINE. You can trust that I'm a reliable source when it concerns this particular dish. The poutine at Clark Burger is the exception to Baltimore's current lineup of truly *miserable* offerings. (I'm talking places that use shoe string fries... watery gravy... yellow cheddar curds. OOOF!) Clark's version is appropriately rich, supremely hearty-- both musts for a good poutine-- and moooostly authentic. Although this poutine is not without flaw, it is damn, damn, damn good. And it's so good because its components are individually good: thick cut, perfectly prepared french fries; equally thick gravy that remains buoyant atop the bed of fries; and squeaky white cheese curds. My only criticism about this poutine is that the kitchen appears to dice the cheese curd, rather than offer the larger, intact curd. I'd guess this is a push-pull between sourcing cheese curds in Baltimore, and providing ample coverage for the entire plate. It isn't a knock on the dish, but I still prefer a whole curd to a diced one. One of my pet peeves when eating such a decidedly unhealthy dish is when said dish doesn't actually -taste- as unhealthy as you know it to be. You know... when you've had a bland bowl of macaroni and cheese, or when that burger just didn't do it for you. When a plate of food is this calorie-rich and fatty, its richness should literally weigh on your tongue. It should be lusty-- almost cloying, even-- and it should linger. By this metric and any other, the poutine at Clark Burger is a total winner. (Clark Burger also offers a hamburger, The Full Mountie, topped with poutine. It is equally impressive, though far less rich than an actual order of poutine.) read more

"This is what a burger place should smell like" were the first words out of my mouth when I entered Clark Burger. If you've ever been inside of a really good burger place, then you know the smell I'm referring to, slightly greasy, full of meat, and like you're going to have a great burger. My friend ordered the Clark Burger which was a beef patty, topped with white cheddar cheese, smoked bacon, onion, lettuce, pickles, and CB sauce. The burger was fairly straightforward, but my friend really enjoyed it, especially the CB sauce. Clark Burger really emphasizes their Canadian influences on their menu and in their branding, because of this I decided to order the Barque Burger. This burger came topped with Montreal smoked meat, pickles, onions, and spicy mustard. Think of this as a traditional deli sandwich with smoked meat, except over a burger. It was delicious, and something different than the burgers I usually order. Last, my friend and I decided to split an order of Poutine, which is a Canadian specialty. In case you're not familiar, poutine is french fries topped with gravy and cheese curds. This was delicious, the fries retained their texture and shape and didn't become soggy. I would return to Clark Burger for the poutine alone, and next time would probably order the poutine burger - because when in Canada (or the only Canadian eatery nearby). DAYUM, was this place a pretty penny! About 6000 pretty pennies to be exact (for 2 burgers, 1 poutine, and 2 cocktails- including the tip)... The place is pretty small and it was very crowded when we showed up. We had to battle our way through the tiny openings in order to find somewhere to settle. The kitchen was a bit chaotic and the staff was slightly lacking in their knowledge of the menu (mostly the cocktails). I'll just assume it was due to their newness. However, the burgers were so moist and delicious, and the buns they were sandwiched in were super soft- I quickly forgot about the crowd! The poutine was pretty spot on, although a bit too salty and the cocktails were fairly disappointing. But those burgers! I'll eventually make my way back here just for the meat and to maybe try a different poutine, but hopefully to either split the cost or be pampered by another ;) read more

OMG! Clark burger is amazing! The 5th star is for offering a gluten free bun and making a great gluten free burger! The menu offers a handful of burger types (cali, bacon cheeseburger, etc.) and you can add items on, as well. The fries are fire. Made there and so fresh. Came on a Friday night around 9. It was busy but not crazy. Our food came super quickly. They also offer a full bar, along with local beers and boozy milkshakes, which is nice to be able to get a drink with your burger. The burgers here are definitely a step up from most burger chains. The fact they serve alcohol is a definite plus in my book. My only negatives to the place is maybe the lack of seating during high traffic and the sheer fact that you cannot choose how "done" the burgers can be. The reason most likely is because the patties that are used are quite thin and most likely for those that like a hearty burger will have to order a "double". I do agree that the price of the burgers are a little expensive, but feel that it isnt too expensive for what you get to drive customers away. The fries here are also done very well. Fresh cut fries and served super hot. I am not one for shakes, but the fact they do shakes differently (alcohol infused) here is a nice addition that may attract another set of crowds. I stumbled on this spot driving down York Road with a good friend of mine. I think the conversation was like, I'm hungry, let's stop on the way to the mall - "ooohh, what is that place?" They are a burger joint - a small little shop - that specializes in burgers, fries, and has some beers. The uniforms all have the Canadian Maple Leaf, which explains the six types of poutine and tons of fry toppings. We went with the "THE CLARK BURGER", which is a patty topped with Tillamook sharp cheddar, smoked bacon and CB sauce. Then they add your routine sliced onion, shredded lettuce and a pickle. They made it a perfect medium. The bun might be a little much for this burger - cause the toppings tend to fall off as you squeeze it, but flavor wise - no complaints. For the poutine - we went with the Classique. Clark Burger hand cuts fries. For this style, they top them with fresh Squeaky Cheese Curds and our rich, house made gravy. I don't love their gravy. It was as if they pureed the beef and then molded it into uniform patties. It had a really strange soft and mushy texture with no semblance to ground beef at all. The fries were just OK, a bit on the soggy side. The place was pretty busy so they hadn't sat for long, not sure why they were soggy. Unfortunately the poutine wasn't good- to the point where I tried to eat the fries that weren't too loaded with it. Instead of a rich beef gravy theis tasted like the generic brown gravy you'd get in a can at a grocery store. I was really looking forward to it and I was disappointed. I really liked the fact that they serve alcohol...which always couples nicely with a burger.
