The burgers here are definitely a step up from most burger chains. The fact they serve alcohol is a definite plus in my book. My only negatives to the place is maybe the lack of seating during high traffic and the sheer fact that you cannot choose how "done" the burgers can be. The reason most likely is because the patties that are used are quite thin and most likely for those that like a hearty burger will have to order a "double". I do agree that the price of the burgers are a little expensive, but feel that it isnt too expensive for what you get to drive customers away. The fries here are also done very well. Fresh cut fries and served super hot. I am not one for shakes, but the fact they do shakes differently (alcohol infused) here is a nice addition that may attract another set of crowds. I am very pleased with this establishment and will come back here often to fix my burger and beer cravings. read more

I stumbled on this spot driving down York Road with a good friend of mine. I think the conversation was like, I'm hungry, let's stop on the way to the mall - "ooohh, what is that place?" They are a burger joint - a small little shop - that specializes in burgers, fries, and has some beers. The uniforms all have the Canadian Maple Leaf, which explains the six types of poutine and tons of fry toppings. We went with the "THE CLARK BURGER", which is a patty topped with Tillamook sharp cheddar, smoked bacon and CB sauce. Then they add your routine sliced onion, shredded lettuce and a pickle. They made it a perfect medium. The bun might be a little much for this burger - cause the toppings tend to fall off as you squeeze it, but flavor wise - no complaints. For the poutine - we went with the Classique. Clark Burger hand cuts fries. For this style, they top them with fresh Squeaky Cheese Curds and our rich, house made gravy. I don't love their gravy. I might try it again, but it tasted a little like what I could make from a box. Fries, though, cheese curds, yes please. More please. read more

Don't be scared of the poutine you xenophobes!!!! Seriously. I have a friend who has a Instagram with all sorts of food. That said friend named Jack has 20% of his photos of Clarke burger's poutine. He has posted over 100 photos. That's 20 freaking photos of fries with cheese curds. Fries, cheese curds, gravy, bathtub, me, glass of bourbon, Friday night. That's my dream. Oh the burgers are outstanding. I think I've reviewed here before, but I'd venture to say that it's the best in Baltimore. Sure millions of people vote and magazines get paid to rank burger joints. Looking for some food after leaving the gym I cruised up to Belvedere Square knowing Id find some good food choices. I ran into Clark Burger and it is no exception to the Belvedere Square food legacy. It has been open for two days now and is located next to The Senator. I ordered a turkey burger and fries to keep it 'semi healthy' and low key. Burger was moist, customizable and the fries were boardwalk style tasting. I see this place becoming a staple of the Square and our food scene here in Baltimore. Welcome addition to York Rd! We needed a GOOD BURGER JOINT! And the music choice is great too. read more

Had the Clark Burger and poutine Nice place inside, clean and neat. Fast service too, and a nice beer menu. The somewhat small burger was very good, similar to 5 Guys in terms of being cooked through but I'd say better attention to detail here. Nice job on the burger, would eat it again for sure. The fries were just OK, a bit on the soggy side. The place was pretty busy so they hadn't sat for long, not sure why they were soggy. Unfortunately the poutine wasn't good- to the point where I tried to eat the fries that weren't too loaded with it. Instead of a rich beef gravy theis tasted like the generic brown gravy you'd get in a can at a grocery store. I was really looking forward to it and I was disappointed. If you've ever had real poutine you won't like this stuff. Suggest the garlic fries if you go, I didn't eat any but they smelled fantastic. read more

Not all burgers are created equal... My burger "The Gringo" was very fresh and super delicious! The poutine fries were a bit overated (by a friend) but still tasty. I really liked the fact that they serve alcohol...which always couples nicely with a burger. I also loved the ktichy feel of space, their use of finishes, variety of seating and the retractable glass front which almost puts you right out on York Rd. Lol. read more

Finally got a chance to get to Clark Burger and can't believe that we didn't come sooner! My girlfriend and I both got the Clark Burger (I made mine a double), a large Classique Poutine, a beer, and boozy shake. First off, they don't play around with the size. Burger and poutine were huge and tasty. Boozy shake is great, considering that you can add what ever you want for a custom flavor. Beer selection was better better then a lot of bars in the area. It was nice not having the same 4-6 beer selection like most restaurants. The place is not super huge, but then again, this isn't a chain restaurant either. All of the staff was super nice and the cooks did a great job. All said and we will defiantly be back and soon! read more

3 bordering on 3.5, newly opened, decided to try it out. The burger which i ordered, the original was okay. The CB sauce was delicious and complemented the meat well. I love their open windows, especially during those spring days. I'm a huge fan of poutine (essentially fries with cheese and gravy), and this place has that! The owner is a Canadian, so he clearly knows how to make it right. We had their poutine and a couple of drafts. I was actually surprised that they had a bar too. Nice spot, good food. I really hope this place sticks around for plenty of years to come. read more

Just finished my Clark Burger and I'm am very pleased. The burger was nicely seasoned, topped with sweet, smoky bacon, briny pickles, crisp red onion, and sharp cheddar. The flavors compliment each other very well. Better than Shake Shack and Z Burger, but not as good as Gino's, Five Guys, or Smashburger for me. The space is pretty small, but has folding door windows that open up the entire front of the building. The fries were good too. I'll be back to try the poutine. read more

I love poutine and could not find anything on an exceptional level in Baltimore!. Now I have! They have a few varieties but i decided to go with the Classic. It was fantastic and I especially loved the gravy! The burger meat was on a truly premium level as well. A great char to the patty and a nice big serving! even the buns were toasted nicely from the grill. There are so many great premium toppings to choose from to add to your burger and poutine! Three small downsides. The price! Starts off affordable enough if you get a basic burger or poutine, but if you are getting a Build Your Own Burger along with a drink and large poutine you are looking at almost $18 So i wouldn't come with a big appetite, stick to a burger and fries or get the poutine and minimize your toppings unless its a pre made special burger. Also the drinks are from a bar, so its a very small glass and you have to keep bugging the staff to refill it because there is so much ice in it. Thankfully refills are free, but since I was thirsty I felt bad for having to annoy them up to six times. A self serve and larger drink glasses or cups would make a huge difference. Lastly, they are right next to Senator and its a very tiny place with very little seating. On a busy night might want to take it to go. Other than that, a great experience. I just wouldn't come here for a basic meal, only when you feel like splurging. If it feels like a pricey burger or fancy poutine kind of day then this is your place. Also, even though there is no actual waiter service they are kind enough to clean up after you. Always nice when staff goes the extra mile. Other than that an A+ meal read more

I used to really like Clark Burger. They just recently opened indoor dining, I had the absolute worst service from Jovan G. He was on his phone while taking my order and could not care less. Up charging for toppings like onion and and pickles is unusual and just felt like literal nickel and diming. The food first came out wrong and had to send it back. Perfection. This place is better than Woodberry Kitchen, The Charleston, any other nice restaurant you could possibly visit in Baltimore. If I ever get it together and get married, I will request that they cater my wedding. I'm not a food critic so I don't really know how to describe this burger other than "exquisite mouth feels" à la "Bob's Burgers." Seriously. "The Charmer" is perfect but so are all the burgers, the draft and bottle selection is nicely curated, the fries are rad, the service is casual and friendly, parking is easy, indoor and outdoor seating in the summer, what more do you want? Great beer selection and convenient location right next to Senator Theatre cannot make up for largely pedestrian burgers and overrated poutine fries. The gravy on the poutine is so over seasoned that you cannot really appreciate the cheese curds, or for that matter, the fries. Just far too much salt. At least one can argue that you are not getting poutine just anywhere. That is not true of the burgers, and you can walk right down the street and get a juicy burger from Swallow at the Hollow that is more enjoyable. read more

Just had a burger here. The food was great. The burger tasted fresh and the fries were hot and crispy. If you choose to dine in, keep in mind that the staff will deliver and clear your food, so leave a tip when you pay at the counter for your food! Great burger and at a very reasonable price point. beware, burgers are messy so stock up on napkins but that comes from being juicy. I got the gringo, highly recommend it. The line was a bit slow but atmosphere was very positive and chill. Pountine fries were excellent but cheese did not squeak so not exactly 100% authentic. Garlic fries were awesome as well. this would be a regular spot if its wasn't so far away from me...and if it wouldn't cause a heart attack. read more

I live nowhere near Clark Burger, but I will make a trek out their way when I have a craving for one of the best burgers in Baltimore. I forsake their prepared burger menu and build my own burger. Very simply: single patty, blue cheese, crispy onions, blue cheese mayo. So good, my boyfriend followed my lead and got the same. Coupled with their massive order of garlic fries we share (enough for three people I swear), and one of their many local beers...it's heaven. Poutine isn't my thing so I haven't tried since I like my fries on the crispier side. But for burgers, seriously, Clark Burger is on par with the well known and well loved Abbey Burger. Bonus: if you're headed to a movie nextdoor at The Senator, you can get some food delivered to you and they run a small bar with a beer and wine selection in the theatre itself. read more

This is a very small, shoebox of a space. There are a few high tops, banquet style seating, and a small bar. Now there is outdoor seating, which was much needed. They have two huge windows they opened up and gave the place an open air type vibe which was nice. Despite the crowds, food comes out at a decent pace. The burgers here are pretty great. I've never had poutine before coming here so I can't really compare it to anywhere else, but I will say that it is excellent and a must try. My partner and I always split a side of poutine, in addition to our burgers. The bigger size of poutine is enough for an entire meal and/or to split with a few people. They have a decent beer selection on draft and in cans/bottles. They also have adult milkshakes if you are into that kind of thing. I assume they have regular shakes, too, if they have boozey ones. Atmosphere was nice and fun. The burger was very good (4-5 star!). The classic poutine, not so much (1-2 star). I spend lots of time in Quebec, and all I can say is it must be very difficult to find squeaky-fresh cheese curd down here. Gravy was lack-luster. Fries had a somewhat burnt taste and no crisp character. There was no salty goodness in that poutine, I'm sorry to say, because I REALLY wanted to love it. The burger was great though. Clark Burger is a wonderful little café of sorts that sits right in front of the Senator movie theater. Their menu consists almost entirely of burgers and poutine. A winning, if slightly odd, combination. There are several tables and seats inside as well as out on the sidewalk, making it a charming environment to enjoy a drink before or after a movie. When Clark Burger first opened, they were amazing. The fries were hot, crisp, and soft on the inside. The burgers were always perfectly cooked and created. Unfortunately, it didn't take long for them to become hit or miss. The fries are usually good, however, no longer great. The burgers are sometimes burned along with the bun. I'll still hit them up if I want a burger right now. They are still OK. FYI: Takeout or delivery is not good. Soggy fries and burned burgers every single time. Came here with a friend and we each ordered the Clark Burger with a small side of fries. We were overall satisfied with the meal but I personally thought the meat was a bit overcooked. The fries were on point where you can toss some spice on it yourself. You order the food at the counter, pay and seat yourself. They will call for you to pick it up and after you are done, leave the tray on the table. The food came out in no time.
