I usually don't stick with a work out for longer than two weeks, yet here I am going on four months!!! I was scared I was going to be judged or that I wasn't "fit" enough to fit in, but ya know what? These people are my motivators and family. Sure I don't like it when a trainer notices I'm not giving it my all, but I do love their encouragement and how proud they make me feel about myself when I do push through and succeed....just like they knew I could. See what happens. It didn't have to look perfect. It's just yoga. Seated Hand to Big Toe Pose became Grasshopper. Crow to Headstand... to a jump-back Chaturanga. I'd practiced for years. I'd never done some of this. Neither had Brian next to me. His wife cheered when he tried. This was power yoga. And somehow, trying something new felt like the point. ~ The Tribe: In Half Lord of the Fishes, a yogi wondered aloud what Full Lord of the Fishes might be. Another yogi hummed as we slowed down. People laughed. They worked hard. They cheered one another on. Ashly (not like that--I'm married ), who also happens to be the owner, is fantastic. Her classes are challenging, encouraging, and uplifting all at the same time. I also really enjoyed Katie's Sculpt class. Her music was at a comfortable volume, and her coaching was clear and motivating without her having to yell over the music. As someone who can be sensitive to loud environments, I really appreciated that. Her music selection was on point, and her teaching style kept me motivated from start to finish. I'm looking forward to taking many more classes! I've already completed 5 classes since June 3rd, and they're currently running a fun challenge where the more classes you take, the more chances you have to win. It's a great extra incentive to keep showing up! The studio itself is kept super clean, which I always appreciate. They also have two showers stocked with big fluffy towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. They even provide hair ties, Q-tips, and plastic bags for your sweaty clothes--because trust me, you will sweat! The only thing you'll need to bring is your own body lotion and face products . And if you're on the fence, their intro offer is only $30 for a week of unlimited classes. Considering a single class is normally $25, it's a no-brainer. Challenge yourself! It's you vs. you. Commit to the week and see what happens--I have a feeling you'll love it as much as I do.

Boise is my hometown and I come back here to visit every year, but I spend so much time jumping between gym looking for the equipment I need depending on what I'm training that day. The moment I walked in and saw the equipment they had to offer, I knew I was home. They have everything you need to take a true holistic approach to fitness. The moment I walked in I was greeted by the welcoming staff and shown around. Unlike most places I've been around here where the front desk employee kinda looks at you weird like they're wondering why you're bothering them with your presence. All in all, Jack City is an uplifting environment with a welcoming community and unparalleled fitness resources that makes me miss it and wish I had a place like this to train at when I'm gone.
