My first/home studio is the Orange Theory in Lehi, UT. I can really only compare my experiences…read morebetween the two locations since being in Boise this summer. The workouts are the best. I come daily if I can / if I'm not too sore, but the workouts are the same across the country, no matter what location you're at that day. The trainers are just as lively, energizing and motivational across the board. They like to play more 90s music which I dig. Meridian seems much busier. More classes fill up, so I have to sign up for wait lists much more often. Luckily a lot of people drop, but sometimes it's last-last minute. Lehi gives you the option of where you want to start the workout when you check-in (treads, rowers, weight floor). Meridian does not. They usually tell you where you're assigned when you check-in. Meridian's studio has less room to do floor exercises by the rowers. You have to stagger or move away from other people to avoid running into people. I am always so thankful for the generous airflow that help keep everyone pushing forward. The workout is worth it, hands down. The facility is always clean, and the staff are friendly. I have never felt so strong and had this much endurance in my life = life-changer.

I love Orangetheory workouts however customer service is lacking, rude and lacks compassion, based on the policies in place this place can be a health hazard, you get charged if you cancel but if your sick or family is they still want you to come in- look at past reviews I'm not the only one they have done this too I will be following up with management

If I am being honest - I struggle finding the motivation to lift weights. I'll go on a run, go on a…read morehike, or do a workout class - but putting in headphones and lifting weights is not my jam. All that to say, I am super duper thankful for places like ClarityFit that create a fun and encouraging environment that makes lifting weights fun! My good friend (who just got married) is a faithful member of this gym, so her coach (Chris) offered to host a private class for the wedding party. Myself, three other bridesmaids, and the bride all came here early on a Sunday morning and got a good sweat in before the big day. Chris started us off with 5 minutes of stretching, followed by a warm up that got our heart rates up, and then led us into a workout rotation that we went through three times. Most of the exercises we did I was familiar with, but there were a few that intimidated me (ahem, power snatches). Chris had us try out each station a few times before starting the clock in order to ensure we had good form. After starting the clock he would come over and kindly correct us if our form was off. At the end of the class I could definitely feel that I had just challenged myself, but didn't feel like I overdid it. I was sore for the next few days, but not in an unreasonable way! Aside from a quality workout and awesome coaching, this gym has the coolest vibe. It's in a garage-type space off Fairview. The doors were open while we worked out, letting in some nice natural light and fresh morning air. The equipment and workout space is also up-to-date and kept nice and tidy. They also have a great stereo system in here and blare music while the class is going - nothing like a little Kanye to motivate you through your final round of box jumps! As far as pricing is concerned, they have a few different monthly packages depending on how often you want to attend classes. For the workout and coaching you get, I think all of them are an awesome deal! You can find those deets on their site: http://www.clarityfitidaho.com/.

We went on a Saturday and the big pool had a swim meet so it was closed which was fine, but it wasn't posted anywhere. So we went in the other two pools. The problem is, we called ahead to get information since we'd never been before & at the front desk reiterated we had never been so wanted to make sure we were good to go info. However, the staff at the front desk was unpleasant and offered almost no information. You must have your ID with you which we had to go 20 minutes back for and was not told that on the phone. We brought 4 kids, two that can swim and two that can't yet so we borrowed life jackets and they swam for almost an hour in the non kiddie pool only to be told you can't be in here even with a life jacket so they kicked them out into the kiddie pool. Then they kept asking for necklaces which we didn't know what that meant and finally a lifeguard said they tell us if they can swim or not. This was an hour in style that point and they'd been swimming without them. The signage to the pools is atrocious and unclear. The bathrooms were dirty as were multiple spots in the pool. I even asked about memberships for the future, & the front desk person said "oh idk you'll need to call the manager" and walked away. I'm glad it was only $4 because it was a very stressful experience and next time we want to take the kids swimming, I think we will find somewhere else.

The slide isn't always staffed, but when it is, it's super fun... even as a grown up :-) They have a rock wall, track for walking/running, and offer fitness classes. My mom likes doing the circuit of machines up in the weight lifting area. There's lots of cardio equipment. I usually prefer the free weights and non-circuit resistance machines for my workouts, and I've found everything I needed at this YMCA. Staff and members are all friendly, and I've never felt uncomfortable working out here. Sometimes you end up weighting for weights or machines, especially during peak times, but that's pretty much how it goes at any gym. Membership is $50/month for one person, or I believe $80/month for two, so a bit of savings. Considering everything you have access to with a membership, it's honestly not a bad deal. I have paid as much or more for gyms with way fewer amenities, let alone for a yoga or pilates studio. Definitely a good option.
