greetings:
i went to an appointment at clarion eye group in yucca valley in february 2019. i waited in the lobby for 5-minutes before the nurse came out to take me back, and she apologised for the long 5-minutes wait - lol!
the eye nurse started tests on my eyes before i was seen by the doctor. as the exam process proceeded no one at the clinic was pushy, and everyone i had contact with, including the check in people, took their time answering all my questions - no one was rude or treated me like a "stupid jerk patient, and is it lunchtime yet"
because of my young age (68) and the fact i have diabetes the eye nurse suggested that i have a special test, and why it was important to have the test.
the special test technician lady explained to me that the test was kind of like an mri for the eyes. we have all been thru the nonsense of, "you have to ask the doctor" for the results of the test. the lady that did the test told me all is good. i was surprised, and glad she told me the results so i didn't have to go thru the anxiety of waiting for the doctor to tell me the results. the technician told me all the diagnostic equipment at the clinic was the most up-to-date equipment available. some of the machines looked like something off of the star trek enterprise bridge - lol.
then the doctor came into the exam room. his name is
xu shao huang ( his last name is pronounced "wong with an h".) because of my age i have seen many doctors, and because of prior medical conditions since the age of 28, i have the ability to tell if the doctor is any good as soon as he/she walks into the room. dr. huang carries himself well, and he is gleaming with confidence, knowledge and education. i'm sure you know what i mean?
the dr. reviewed the tests the ladies took, my history, my current medical condition, the medications i am taking, and then he asked me my concerns - he listens.
the doctor told me i have cataracts on a 10-scale 10 being the worst, and my cataracts are a 4 or 5. dr. huang told me we will review the cataracs again in 6-months. point being - dr. huang is not one of those money hungry jerk doctors that are fast to cut to make more money. the appointment ended after dr. huang explained the results to me. i told the dr. i would like paper prescriptions for the glasses because i couldn't afford glasses at the clinic, and i was going to get the glasses on the internet. the doctor had no problems with that. point being again - he is not money hungry pushing his products. the last thing the doctor said to me was, "do you have any questions?" i did have questions, and the doctor took his time answering all my questions without looking at his watch or looking out the exam room door.
in conclusion:
i was in and out in approximately 30-minutes. not because i was getting the bum's rush, but because they have a good patient exam process.
dr. huang is a totally stand-up guy. dr. huang does not have a "doctor god complex. i can confirm his main concern is what is best for the patient. i walked out of the office feeling i received the the best eye care possible. regards - ron b. 29 palms ca read more
