Recently I purchased a deal thru Living Social, were myself and 5 friends received full make over and photography. This was a perfect deal for us 6 women. We received delicious cup cake desserts to snack on from Fresh Bakery. Who doesn't like desserts, and for 3 hours we had the entire place to ourselves. The owner Mrs. Tiffany Jeffers celebrity make up artist was hands on the entire evening. Tiffany is a wonderful and gracious shop owner and with the impressive resume she holds you would think the opposite. I have had the pleasure of working with her in the past and she has always been a true gem. She allowed us to blast the Beyonce as we "got glam for the evening". We had our very own private photo shoot and the ladies loved every minute of it. She makes and customizes her make up which is wonderful, you will never have to worry about figuring out the perfect blend, because she can create it. How awesome is that! her prices are extremely reasonable and lets just say you will spend less getting a full face (make up term) here then you will in the "M" store. I dare not use the real name because I have friends who work there as well as friends who swear by this store. We had a memorable experience here and I for one will be back. Also to those interested she has on going class for the novice to the experienced, you wanna learn how to blend that perfect smokey eye or how to properly contour then this is the place for you.

Best thing of it all is their customer service is unmatched. The attendants and the lady who I assume to be the manager are sooo nice and helpful. I may pass a couple of beauty supplies to get to this one, but this will be my go to going forward.

When I got home, I realized that one of the jars of honey was printed "Not for retail sale" across the seal across the jar. I booked Smooch studio ( Fredrick location) yesterday to celebrate a girlfriends birthday! The…read morewebsite left me looking for more so I called just to get clarity around what they offer. I was able to book an appointment for me and the girls to make lipstick or lipgloss! Super excited!!!! Walking into the studio left a lot to be desired, I wasn't greeted with warm and friendly energy more like a blank look. Once confirmed on the books we got assigned an artist who was actually very friendly and excited to help us. Yaaay!!! Glad we did! The decor of the studio was neat and cute but It missed something : I don't feel they gave us an experience. We had to ask questions about the company and product. No one broke down the story or educated us on everything they offered. When asked what was the lipstick made of ? ..... both artist looked confused and handed us each an ingredient sheet. Giving me the feeling they didn't know what was in it! I will say our artist was sweet and helpful, she offered suggestions on how to obtain the desired colors but she didn't walk us step by step on how it all works. (not in detail) this would have created a more engaging experience. I love the idea of this business and think it's an amazing concept.... but the experience is what sales and we walked out paying 28 buck( social media discount) and not really sure what we paid for. I think it would also be better if they allowed the customer to be more involved in the making ..... more then just picking out the colors. The product itself was just okay... the pigment of the colors came out very light.

That lipstick quickly became my favorite, so when I lost it I had to replace it! I stopped back in this past Saturday and they were able to pull up my old recipe and re-create it on the spot! Since I was there, I decided to get some help with my foundation issues. At the age of 41 I have just begun to wear foundation, and the goop I bought at CVS just didn't match my face. I walked out with a "Magic Wand" that really does cover my dark under eye spots without making me look wrinkly, custom foundation with SPF, some kind of fairy dust that makes my face look pore-less, and my two lipsticks. I also walked out with a ton of tips and tricks that taught me how to use some of the cosmetics I already invested in. All the products are natural, and the stylist explained what each was made of, how to apply, and why it was good for my face. (Their products follow form and function). That night I got carded (woo hoo!). The next day I went to a fancy schmancy restaurant in DC and the hostess told me my eyes "popped." Prices are in line with what you would pay at a department store makeup counter, but Smooch Studio products are CUSTOM and CLEAN! Plus its locally owned and such a fun place to visit.

I ordered some samples of their lipsticks, foundations, blushes, and a new brush kit around midnight on 3/14 --- and didn't receive them until 3/24. I was one day away from calling to cancel the order! They said they were 4-5 days behind in shipping, but 10? And with SAMPLES shipping from Maryland to Illinois??? My order consisted of: Eco Friendly Vegan Bamboo Brush Set Cinnamon Ministick lipstick Pristine Finishing Powder Minipinch Dahlia Blush Minipinch Hibiscus Blush Minipinch Peach Blush Minipinch Honeycomb Foundation Minipinch Bamboo Foundation Minipinch Dahlia Ministick lipstick Garnet Ministick lipstick Peachfuzz Ministick lipstick Terracotta Spice Ministick lipstick Black Cherry Minigloss Clear Minigloss Rattan Foundation Minipinch Their samples are the most expensive I've seen at $3.00 each. The mini lipsticks (ministicks) weren't even all the same size. Some contained less make-up than the others. I felt a little gypped. Also, all of the lipsticks smelled like crayons and were really drying. The Black Cherry Lip gloss that was advertised on their website as a strawberry red shade, definitely is NOT. More of a Plum at best. The foundation and blush comes in tiny plastic baggies that contained enough for maybe two foundation applications and three blush applications (this I was okay with). As far as the foundation was concerned. All of the shades I got were too light (Honeycomb, Rattan, Bamboo) and I think I'm more into their deeper tones (Toasted Almond, Roasted Chestnut, Cashmere), however I do not wish to pay three more dollars per sample and wait another two weeks for delivery. On the good side, the blushes turned out okay. The peach gives me a just tanned sultry summer look, and the Dahlia and Hibiscus make beautiful light pink/red pink looks respectively. The brush set, although expensive I liked very much as it is made from soft vegan fibers, recycled metal, and bamboo, and comes in a natural cotton and hemp cosmetic roll with tie closure. Great for traveling! Although I like the blushes and brushes, I don't know if I will order anything from this company, as they do not allow for returns and I was not impressed with most of there products. I will try Alima Pure as they have $1.50 samples, and 100% Pure which does not offer samples themselves, but has a 30 day return policy. I also may try bellafloria.com which offers custom sample kits you can create for 100% Pure's blushes and eye shadows.
