Let's check out the cocktail and 2-course meal I explored. Frozen Strawberry Margarita: This frozen margarita may be small in size, but strong enough for a nice solid buzz. The frosty cocktail is mixed with tequila, strawberries, with salt along the rim, a lime, and an umbrella. Mac N' Cheese Bites: This appetizer includes three fairly large balls. They are breaded on the outside and packed with macaroni and cheese on the inside; also included is a side of queso and salsa. Mother In Law's Revenge Burger: The toppings on this specialty burger include cheese, chili, jalapenos and sour cream. Although it was loaded with condiments, it was still easy to hold. It has quite a kick. In addition to a decent meal, the vintage decorations truly caught my eye. There is a variety of life size mannequins and statues. The retro machines that are no longer operable, but really neat to admire. It's like visiting an antique shop except you cannot purchase anything. Seating options extend beside the traditional bar or dining tables. The bartender works both the bar and dining area, so please be patient with the service. Otherwise, it's a truly classic spot with decent eats. #chelseanyc #trailerparklounge #trailerpark #frozenstrawberrymargarita #macncheesebites #motherinlawsrevengeburger #nycfoodie #localspots #foodstagram #foodreview

The two people working behind the bar when I went in were extraordinarily nice and provided great service. They accommodated my large party (no res or heads up, as it was a spontaneous event) with grace, and didn't seem bothered at all. They let my friend try a sample of their spiked slushie when she asked. They were quick to grab dirty glasses and keep the place clean, and were very friendly every time I went up to order. Lots of table space, which was nice! Drinks are overpriced, but that's midtown for you. I'd go back if in the area.

Food: Respectfully the Pizza is Trash, Im like 99.99% its one of those cheap frozen pizza that were thrown in a basic oven and presented to customers. Ambiance: Multiple seating, Jenga, Card games and pool table with a section that seemed like was dedicated to Birthdays and stuff, so honestly I don't how the vibe is here when its actually popping. However when I was there it was kind of dead and as mentioned more chill than you regular bar encounter.

Revisiting this spot again after so much time has passed, I see their formula and reputation haven't changed at all. With the ever-changing NYC landscape because of super high rents, the W. 14th St strip that McKenna's is located on has changed quite a bit over the years. Businesses have come and gone, but McKenna's has stood the test of time. The bartenders are friendly and quick to serve up drinks. I haven't seen any of them use a measuring apparatus yet (regardless if you want a basic mixed drink or a specialty cocktail). The pub is large with plenty of seating and TV's. They have 2-for-1 drink specials on all drinks every day of the week from 4 pm - 7 pm and from 12 am - 2 am. When you purchase a drink you are given a poker chip for your next drink. If you decide not to use a poker chip by the end of your stay you can always bring it back to be used another time.

Dear Owner/Management Team,…read more My fisncé and I are neighborhood residents, and we stopped into Gramercy Ale House this evening (May 5, 2026 at 6:45pm) hoping to enjoy a relaxed trivia night together after receiving some emotional but positive news from the hospital earlier this week. We were genuinely looking forward to a comforting, lighthearted evening in the neighborhood we call home. Unfortunately, the interaction we experienced at the front door left us feeling embarrassed and unwelcome. When we walked in around 7 PM, the hostess immediately asked, "What do you guys want?" in a tone that felt dismissive and condescending from the outset. We politely explained that we lived nearby and would have loved to participate in trivia. We completely understood that tables may have been reserved for groups, and I even offered to pay for additional seats simply so we could have a comfortable evening and we could participate respectfully. Rather than trying to accommodate us in any way -- even minimally -- we were effectively told, "You should just leave." I fully understand that restaurants become busy and that trivia nights require organization and reservations. This letter is not about not getting a table. It is about basic hospitality, kindness, and the way guests are spoken to. Particularly in New York, neighborhood establishments become meaningful because of warmth, professionalism, and community. Tonight felt like the opposite of that. What saddened me most was seeing my fiancè visibly hurt after we had come out hoping for a positive evening together. We did not expect special treatment -- simply courtesy and humanity. I wanted to share this directly because I believe owners should know when the tone at the front door is driving people away rather than welcoming them in. I truly hope future guests are treated with more grace and kindness than we experienced tonight. Sincerely, Gramercy Neighbor

They had holiday themed drinks but when I ordered one at the bar, the bartender looked a little bit surprised, lol. I got the sense from the crowd that they had a lot of regulars or coworkers coming after work. It is a pretty narrow bar, but then they have a back area that has two pool tables that were covered. I'm not sure that I would go out of my way to come back here, but appreciated an affordable drink in the city.
