The abundance…read moreof politically charged signs and stickers adorning the windows and front door suggested to me that my business wouldn't be appreciated, so I tried to find Top T's -- which seems to have closed since I last got T-shirts, and I tried to work with Monarch -- which seems to have closed since the Pandemic. I ended up at Spectra Color and was worried my low quantities would be too small of an order for Mark. To my surprise Mark was happy to see me, immediately stopping whatever he was working on and sharing pricing information and additional knowledge about T-shirt and Sweatshirt fabrics and quality. That gave me a head-start and I left to brainstorm for a couple weeks. I came back with samples of art from flyers and a couple wild ideas, plus exact quantities for an order. Mark rolled with the changes in my specifications and even helped me clean up my previous designs so they would look cleaner on the new products. With all those demands and details, I was nervous about telling him I needed the garments in a month. Mark said he could easily get them done in two weeks -- and ended up taking some vacation time off and still delivering my order only ten days later! That boosted my confidence in Mark's abilities, so I returned a couple weeks later to ask if he could blow up my design and put it on a weird banner I had been thinking about. Since he had already improved my original graphics format, enlarging it was easy for him. Mark listened to my ideas, suggested some variations on my ideas, and even provided some better alternatives for mounting the resulting banner securely. Two weeks later (well, probably only ten days, but I didn't return to pick up the results for two weeks) Mark had produced a banner that was better than I had imagined, plus it cost less than the shirts! I'm so glad I found Spectra-Color! Mark was extremely patient in working with me, not just listening to my ideas and fulfiling my order, but collaborating with me when my ideas were vague and helping me to design and deliver fantastic results and high quality products. Spectra-Color may be one of a dwindling number of custom print shops in Simi Valley. His work is top-notch and, from now on, I refuse to take my print jobs to anyone else!

I came here on a Sunday since the Kanan UPS store (which is always great) was closed. The line was…read morelong, and Tory was moving incredibly slow. While waiting, I looked at some packing supplies near the register. He suddenly yelled at me to get back in line and not touch anything until it was my turn completely loud and unnecessary, especially in front of my 11-year-old daughter. When we finally got to the counter, he immediately started interrogating me about the contents of the box like as if I was shipping a kilo of powder. I explained my daughter crochets custom animals for military kids with deployed parents and records YouTube videos for the families. Instead of helping, he dismissed it, said UPS would be "too expensive," and told me to go to USPS not even without checking a single price. No weighing, no scanning, no real service. He didn't treat other customers prior to me this way. Whether it was profiling or just bad service, It was a terrible experience. The Kanan store is respectful and professional--this one isn't.

This time, years later, having sent many packages and letters back to family in Mexico without any problem i have to think that the problem is in the people who run this location. I drove down to the FedEx by the Wizzins Center and got it done easily. I also reviewed UPS International shipping requirements and found that ! WOW! They do ship to Mexico. Ok When my wife and I came in, one of the guys asked how he could help us, so I told him we need to send an envelope to Mexico. He said that he would be happy to help. We went up to the desk and told him where in Mexico we needed to send the package and then he very vocally, as if he was addressing the entire store, started talking about how they don't send packages to Mexico and about corruption and police problems. I'm pretty sure bigotry isn't a UPS policy, its just a policy of this location. Good job. I won't even consider domestic shipping here. I also don't mind bad service, but I do very much mind being brought into the store just to listen to them denigrate an entire nation in a very public, shameful, and false way.
