Let me make myself Claire. This is a great store. Actually I think Barbie does want to make me Claire. Or Candy. Or something. We'll see. Bambi Barbieri, maybe. Barbie is totally obsessed with this store and I can see why, because they sell super cute things and lots of sexy stuff like fishnet gloves and accessories that make her look even more extra than she already does because she is the princess of extra. Usually the prices are really good too, except that there have been so many good things in here that you'll end up spending a ton of money. This one is located in this sleepy Mall out in Westland which is little bit of a relic of the past but it's definitely one of the highlights of the mall. Awful. I tried to get my daughter's ears pierced here and they botched it horribly. The incompetent woman with the piercing gun couldn't get the holes lined up properly, it took her almost 20 minutes. Once the ink marks were in place, it should just be a matter of using the piercing gun correctly, right? Wrong. As she squeezed, she twisted her hand so much it torqued the gun and the post was no longer aligned with the backing, so it bent while halfway through my kid's ear. After that, she tried to "finish the job" by pushing it through manually. I told her to stop twice and finally had to push her away before she gave up. While my daughter was screaming and bleeding, one of the other employees came up and said "Oh, that happened the other day too. I think there is something wrong with that gun." WTF? As I was leaving, they said there would be no charge for materials as long as I signed some release form. Unbelievable. I tore their release form up and didn't pay a dime. TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT & Customer service!! Wow! Was in there about an hour ago I seen an item I wanted on the top shelf.. Pulled a step ladder from 2ft away to reach the desired product. Immediately I was scolded upon the fact no one is going to pay my bills when I fall I cant be on the ladder unless i work for Her! So I put it back and left. I wont go back there. Its not hard to say something more like excuse me sorry you aren't supposed to use the ladder but id be happy to get you whatever you need! I can't believe people don't have basic customer service training. This could have gone alot smoother. I regret not passing on my customer service skills. One more thing I noticed, we weren't even greeted. Im only writing this in hopes maybe some improvements can be made. Went in at 4:00 on Dec 28 2015. Terrible management and customer service. So my friend and I are casually strolling into Claire's and we noticed the manager was busy putting out stock, there was a two-step ladder out near by. My friend moved the ladder because she saw something up on the shelf she really wanted to get. We're both in our 20's, not looking to cause any trouble. She saw that my friend had stepped up to grab something, and rudely stated "Um, excuse me Ma'am. You can't use those ladders unless you work directly for me. If you fall we won't be paying for you." Believe me when I say, I completely get that companies have to keep their customers safe and also don't want to be liable for an injury. But we're consenting adults knowing what we're getting into, we're not 5 year olds. If we hurt ourselves, we'd brush it off and walk out. Upon hearing her remarks, she stood there, not even offering to come over to help, she just was staring rudely at my friend until she got down. We had intentions to pay, but we put everything back, and immediately walked out and headed downstairs and told the Mall Management. I wish I could say this is my first incident with bad customer service at Westland Mall but it isn't. A few months back, the man that works at the "Discount" perfume and Jewelry Pagoda outside of Pac Sun was completely rude, yelled at me and blamed me for him missing his a sale all because I wanted to know the price of a perfume. Westland mall needs to get their customer service together. I've worked retail, and currently work in a customer service job, and I'm expected to go above and beyond all the time. read more

Yesterday m 8-year-old son decided to get his ear pierced. The woman who pierced his ear was named Jenn, I believe she is the manager. I cannot say enough good things about her. She was so patient, kind and gentle with him. She comforted him, offered him to back out without feeling bad and our visit was an overall amazing experience. She was working with another girl who is just as amazing, named Brianna. She was even kind enough to let me borrow her phone, record it all and will be sending it to me shortly. We usually go to 12 oaks because it is closer to our house but with this type of service we will never go anywhere again. Jenn was very thorough bout explaining the entire piercing process, the possible outcomes and how to care for his ear. I wish more workers could be like them, they went above and beyond any customer service we have ever received. Will be telling all of our friends and will send them that way. My daughter got her ear's pierced at 12 oaks and cried her eyes out, my son didn't even shed a tear with Jenn. I am so very impressed. read more

If I could give a 0 rating I would. I was at this location on Sat 2/16/13 to get my daughter's ears pierced. I go to pay, the lady swipes my card and says that they're having problems w/their system. She swipes several more times and according to her it finally goes through. Something tells me to check my card. I call the card and the same transaction reads off 3 times!!!! Fyi: I haven't even left the mall yet. I turn back around and head back to the store. I explain what happened and immediately the girl gets defensive and says that I have to call a 800#. I'm freaking OUTRAGED!!! I told her that she needs to give me a refund, even people in the store overhead and agreed. She never acknowledged the mistake or apologized...instead she calls mall security who does nothing but side w/ me as well and tries to get me to calm down. I'm in such disbelief I ask to speak w/a manager. The girl responsds I am a manager...we both are. Well fyi: HEATHER & AMBER you both SUCK and are pathetic excuses for managers. You lack the necessary skill sets to work in retail. Neither of you posses good customer service skills or know how to handle certain situations. BEYOND disappointed...they thought the situation was funny, when I finally decided to leave I caught them smiling at one another. Never again read more
