Definitely a girl's dream. Rings and vast amounts of jewellery on show of all variations, sizes, colours and shapes. All of the stuff is pretty cheap here so a good place to have a wander through if passing by. read more

This M&S Outlet store is certainly not the best or most exciting of stores from the Marks and…read moreSpencer brand, it is an Outlet store which mainly gets rid of old, out of fashion clothing which even the bigger stores wouldn't sell anymore, and often might have put on sale with no success in the past, still around sale prices. This is a slightly small branch in the Lowry Outlet in Manchester, they do seem to have made effort to improve it slightly such as with a nicer, slightly more modern and welcoming sign, and I presume this is a new addition for this store especially since it was last reviewed in what is nearly four full years ago. The staff didn't seem to stand out in anyway. I don't normally like Outlet stores and most of the fashion here was nothing great and more out of date rather than modern, which people would want to wear and the prices were just average sale prices and didn't stand out in particular, so I sadly feel this store does deserve a single one star rating.

If you ever take a ride on a bus, you are bound to overhear little old ladies rant on about: A) the…read moreprice of a good piece of tongue ( cow tongue from the butcher's you mucky lot) and B) the lack of haberdashers any more. They obviously haven't discovered Bon Fabrics in Urmston Town Centre- perhaps one of the last of a dying breed. This is a proper material shop where reams of cotton and voile are cut to order in front of your very eyes. And there are buttons!! Now, buttons are the bane of my life; I don't know why but if there is a button around, you can guarantee that it will pop off in my presence. Maybe I am the David Blaine of the haberdashery world? Perhaps I just magic them off clothes by mind control and without laying one manicured finger on them. Well whatever it is , I ALWAYS need buttons and Bon Fabrics comes to my rescue. There is something strangely comforting about standing around yards of fabric and bales of wool. It might be a latent repressed memory of being a contented baby stuffed into home- made matinee jackets and bootees by my talented Aunty Joyce. Who knows? It is certainly not my intention to patronise the older generation at all. Knitting is now a Hollywood craze and a birdie tells me that Gwyneth is a bit partial to a knit one pearl one. Bon Fabrics does not just cater to those in the twilight of their lives, it has a whole array of fancy-dress outfits for children and adults. You can barely move in this shop at Christmas and Easter time when harassed mothers are forced to make outfits for their little darlings' school plays and Easter Bonnet Parades. I particularly like Bon Fabrics at Halloween when my inner vamp ( or vampire) starts bearing its fangs. Whether I require a wig, facepaints or other accessories, this shop will have it. Service can be quite slow as the ladies who run the shop like to give their undivided attention to their customers for as long as it takes, and no disrespect, but it CAN take a long time. This can be a touch frustrating when all you need to buy is a yard of ribbon for 50p. I would not say that the owners are brimming over with amicability either. They are serious sewers who rarely crack a smile. However, I have returned here again and again- well I always need buttons. P.S. try saying haberdashery when you have had a few drinks- I seem to say have a daiquiri. Odd that!

Not a bad thing, just different to my first impressions. They do have a really good range called Fusion, which is aimed at younger women and offers quirky spins on modern classics. My girlfriend always raves about this Monsoon because the mirrors in the changing rooms are apparently massive. I wouldn't know, being a boy and all and not in the habit of trying on clothes from Monsoon. I did notice that they had an awesome children's range. Literally, make a kid, buy it cute clothes from Monsoon and just gaze adoringly at it forever more.

When it opened a few years ago, Six completely revolutionised the attire of Urmston ladies. I like the fact that the stock is forever changing but it means that this is a buy it when you see it kinda shop because if you return a couple of days later, the object of your desire may have vanished. Clothes here are lovely and well priced. Dresses start from as little as £15 and I have never spent more than £35 on an item. Six only stocks 2 or 3 of any garment and sells to ladies of all ages, particularly 20 and 30 somethings. The clothes are well sourced ad well made and usually don't follow the standardised sizing 10,12 14 etc. I prefer small, medium and large measurements because each category can span a few sizes and and if you are on a particularly snappy PMT day and your tummy has ballooned to the size of an eight month pregnant whale, how flattering is it that you can still fit into a small size? There are two narrow cubicles in the rear of the shop and my only complaint is that you always bang your head, or arms, or any other body part on the silly chandeliers whilst you are trying on the clothes. This is a minor issue though, by and large Six is a jewel of a shop. It also sells belts, jewellery, and other accessories. The staff are friendly and don't get me wrong, even though I can talk for ages to the lovely blond lady who works there, one of Six's main attractions is the Adam Garcia lookalikey who never fails to give an honest appraisal of whether an outfit suits you or not. Looks AND honesty! Is this man for real? I would encourage all the single ladies out there to pop into Six. if you don't get fixed up with a fabulous frock, you might get fixed up with something else!

Choosing tactfully to go on a Sunday at opening time, it was a wise move as I was in and out of the Traff in less than two hours. It was THE perfect visit and Banana Republic had a bit part to play in that. The store is decent sized, light and airy (mens is on the ground floor with womens upstairs - which was refreshing as we usually have to trek upstairs, ladies!). They're owned by Gap Inc but it has a more upscale image. The clothes are all nicely displayed, all the sizes are there and the friendly staff on-hand to help. One of them kindly offered to pop the few things I'd picked to try in one of the fitting rooms whilst I perused the rest of the shop (a sales ploy most likely, but it was still appreciated). I felt like I was in one of those expensive shops you see celebs in on Rodeo Drive, with a personal shopper and staff who know what you want before you say anything. Great clothes and a great store, you made a reluctant shopper happy.
