My wife and I recently worked with agent Claire Liu, aka Qi Liu, to buy a house California. We are very unhappy with her performance.
We made an offer on the house. An hour later, we were reconsidering, and asked Claire Liu to ask the seller if they would let us out of the contract without penalty. Somehow, Claire Liu communicated to the seller that we would break the contract, and the seller then informed us that we would need to pay the deposit as specified in the contract. This took us a week of back and forth to clean up. Very unprofessional.
Two weeks later during the same closing process, Claire Liu told us that she was out of the country. We were given no warning that this would happen. We were not told that this would happen. We were not even informed that this would happen until approximately 2 days after Claire Liu left the country on a trip. They were outside of the country for several weeks before the closing date, and this period included the closing date. Claire Liu offered for us to work with another agent at their company, and we did. However, this is unprofessional to leave the country during the closing process. It is grossly unprofessional to not even promptly tell your clients; Claire Liu didn't even have the courtesy to tell us that they had an emergency (if that is what it was) before leaving the country. Instead, we only learned about it several days later.
The replacement agent from the same company was mostly adequate, but not up to our expectations. We didn't feel as comfortable with the replacement agent, and the replacement agent on at least one occasion was extremely rude and dismissive towards my wife when she was asking questions about the process.
The process did complete without any other problems, and we did buy the house, but we were left very upset and unsatisfied because of these problems. read more
