My property search began in 2003. Several real estate agents and years later, I was making no progress. Most of my weekends were spent touring open houses and after a while it grew tedious and I stopped my search some time in 2008. My brother dropped by a property that Cheryl was showing. He was impressed and encouraged me to give her a call. I contacted Cheryl in early 2009 and found her to be very professional and methodical. After the initial meeting, I felt that things would work out this time. She was very mindful and helpful during the search. Whenever I found a property of interest, she would tell me the conditions of the property as she sees it, she would come up with helpful hints, market research and the ball park figure of how much the property is worth, which made it easier for me to make decisions.
My job entails a lot of traveling, both domestic and international. That, however, does not stop me from putting in offers for properties of interest, as she introduced me to an electronic signature process known as Docu sign. The Docu sign process made the offer process easier. In my absence, Cheryl was nice enough to work with my teenage niece (who was filling in for me) and patiently explained all the terminology and answered any questions she might have had. Cheryl truly is one of a kind. She has everything a superb agent should have. Patience, knowledge, consideration, trustworthiness, negotiation skills etc. you name it, she has it all. Besides, she has great home inspectors too. What I admired about Cheryl is her way of treating clients. She will stand by you and lead you through the complicated home buying process. She considers her client like a family member. If she thinks the property is worth less than the offer amount she will inform you right away. Her advice on the value of the property, to my knowledge, has never been wrong.
My home buying process was more complicated than others. Although, the final decision rested with me, I cared about the opinions of my family which made matters worse as everyone had their own opinion. It made things more difficult for Cheryl during my property search, but that does not seem to bother her. I am a first time home buyer with no experience in almost everything in the real estate field, and I let Cheryl lead me. Home buying process was like a breeze. Last but not the least, because of her excellent negotiating skills, she was able to bring down the price of the property to be within our target range. Not only she helped me get the house we want but also ended my house hunting process and I can now do some other chores during weekends.
