I decided to try out CKO due to a Groupon and it was a interesting experience to say the least! They do run specials such as $19.99 for 3 classes and gloves for new beginners to get a feel for the gym before joining. Located on Broadway, which is a super busy street, and all metered parking so make sure you come early to find a spot. Walking in for the first time was really intimating but everyone was very nice and welcoming. I explained it was my first time and they showed me the ropes and encouraged me to do better. I've taken classes with Juliana, Mallory and Marion and BOY, they were tough! I've never been more sore than after a class here, it definitely makes you work for sure. the love I have for CKO Bayonne gym and the trainers words could never describe. There is no judgement there , everyone helps each other and supports each other to get to the goals they are working hard towards . I had to take a break from working out for a few years due to medical issues . When i went back I spoke to the trainers and with tears in my eyes I asked them to help me remember the Renee that I was once was and become again . The trainers hugged me and said we are in it together. With each class I get more of my confidence and strength back. CKO has helped me mentally , physically and emotionally and I am getting back to the real me and I love being me again . As someone who cannot workout without a trainer, CKO is perfect! The instructors really really motivate you to do more and challenge yourself. But don't be intimidated by that, they super encourage you to go at your own pace and modify if you have to (i.e. instead of doing laps around the gym, march in place between the bags!) The class also motivates each other. It truly is a great community that I'm so glad to be a part of. (I've personally been a member for probably 10 years or so at this point.) Also Juliana is the best, I almost exclusively take her classes. You see results so quickly too. They've recently included the use of heavy weights in class, which is my absolute favorite. New Management has taken over in the beginning of June! The amount of classes have almost tripled. You now have close to 30 classes per week to chose from. New trainers have been added, previous trainers have returned. This along with the existing trainers will assure you that you will always get a different workout when you come in. I have been a member ever since, and I do not see myself leaving anytime soon. CKO offers 1 hour HIIT kickboxing classes, where you will sweat your hearts desires, as long as you push yourself. What sets this place apart from regular gym is that it is not as intimidating and trainers/coaches are very supportive in making sure you do enough burpeess aka. supportive enouragment to push yourself. Consider me the resident CKO reviewer for all gyms in the Northern NJ area. This gym is by far my favorite in Hudson County. Far enough from the mess of downtown Jersey City and easier to find parking at this location than at both Hoboken & JC as a whole. The members are super friendly and encouraging (honestly never experienced this at any other CKO) Staff, cleanliness, location all makes a great gym. I only wish short term memberships were available for the summer months. I am a summer month gym rat on a tight budget....hahaha. Definitely try a groupon if you're hesitant, so worth it! read more

I really enjoyed my experience here. I went online signed up for a free class and now I'm hooked. I love that they have late classes and the class size was perfect. When I first walked in it was a bit intimidating because the moves looked pretty intense but the instructor was so upbeat and helped me through the whole class. There is currently a good Groupon available for a month or 2 months. I'm so glad that I came across this place, it's right by where I live and the atmosphere really encourages you to work out and give it your all. I received a promotion via email to try this location for 3 months for $70 a month. Seems exorbitant but compared to other locations this was actually a steal. I advised to try a class and sign up for the subscription to catch one of these deals. The studio is rather on the smaller side. It's not a full gym like the locations in Hoboken. There's no treadmills or bench press Etc... They do have smaller weights and yoga ball for those type of workouts. I feel as though the classes are limited due to my schedule. The last class is at 7:45 on week days and I actually had to cancel my membership because i never made it to the class. Classes are limited on the weekends as well. If time permits for you though, I highly recommend you try it out. It's such a good way to workout. It really is a challenge especially depending on the instructor. Please do take Marion. She's absolutely amazing. She really forces you to challenge yourself. She's amazing and motivating. You will feel winded after her class but it's worth it. read more

I went for two trial classes where they took my credit card info. I called up several times and left message for the manager that I will not be continuing and not to charge my credit card. 600 dollars later i followed up several times and even met the manager multiple times who promised to return the charge to my card but did not do so. I will be disputing this with my credit card company and reporting the better business bureau. Just beware when you give your credit card info to such places. read more

so i love cko but i have always felt they can be much more cleaner. wipes, dont smell like much and i have yet to come in and smell any chemicals that they use to mop with. or any sprays . i was a planet fitness member and although they are only 10 bucks i must say they clean much more and not with just water. come on cko people pay enough money and with the corono virus going around what are you guys doing? i received an email and it stated you guys clean every night? no unacceptable/ it should be done after each class especially since we are on the floor. i mean lets be honest here the trainers are really not the ones on the floor its us. again i love cko but you guys must do better, better cleaning products and more cleaning. or your going to loose folks. those plain wipes are not doing anything. so you kill the germs and they well follow, so you may want to reverse the information on the email. make what you guys will do as a company bold and what will do in small letters. read more
