We just bought a home not too long ago that came with a couple of plumbing issues…read more We had attempted to contact many plumbers over the past couple of months with all of them either flat out not returning calls and emails or promising they'd come out to give estimates just for them to not show up. We finally got referred to Albert at Railgate Plumbing by an electrician who had worked with him in the past and had just finished making some improvements and repairs to our home. We texted Albert and on short notice he came out, walked the home with us, took note of every issue we reported and in under a week was able to come back out and handle everything in a single day. He was able to repair 3 toilets (wax rings, flappers), unclog a sink, replace an outdated and not up to code saddle valve under our sink, and install a new water heater all with-in a day. The pricing for the entire job was extremely fair compared to what I priced out for national averages online and he was extremely polite, informative and respectful of our home while working here. He arrived at 12 noon. He installed the new faucet that I provided from Ferguson and Company, only to find out that the new faucet was defective. He told me to order another new faucet from Ferguson on Monday, April 13. I did return defective faucet and ordered new one from Ferguson and Company on April 13. Ferguson had the replacement new faucet delivered to my residence on April 15. I called Ethan on April 15 to let him know that the new faucet was here. He said he could not install it that Wednesday, April 15 or 16, maybe on April 17, but he would call and let me know. No phone call Friday, April 17, but he would definitely be here Monday, April 20.I called at 8am on Monday, April 20 , to see where I was in the schedule; No response; At 12:45 pm I called again; No response ,No communication on April 20. Tuesday, April 21, I felt that I should document the lack of communication with the plumbing company. I sent 2 text messages and 1 email explaining that I felt that if I had not heard anything by Thursday, April 23, that he had abandoned this job. After sending the two texts and 1 email, he responded that he would be here on Wednesday April 22, at 9:30am. He arrived at 9:30 on April 22, and installed the new faucet. After waiting from April 15 to April 22 to finally have water in my kitchen (I had actually been 2 weeks with no water in kitchen), he presented me with a bill for $705.00. Ethan is a good plumber; kept his work area clean; but when I questioned the $705.00 ; poor communication, and the days I waited all day April 10, 15,16,17, and 20th but he did not show up with very little or no correspondence. A good plumber but with poor communication skills, but too expensive. I personally would not use this company again.
