The restaurant is located on the southwest corner of County Farm Road and Army Trail Road next to Dairy Queen. The restaurant is very clean and the tables are set with beautifully folded napkins, silverware, and water cups tuned upside down. The restaurant was warm and comfortable, I liked that. There is a wall with one large booth seating and chairs on the other side (I posted a dining room video) the restaurant is nicely decorated and very classy looking. I would recommend this place for a special celebratory dinner. There was elevator music playing softly in the background. There is a lot of variety on the menu, if you have special dietary restrictions please let your waiter know. I cannot eat meat today for lent and ordered the Tom Yom Noodle Soup but did not want the chicken... they were able to still make it for me. My husband ordered the seafood fried rice. It has shrimp, crab, and squid meat. We loved the food it was very flavorful as expected and will definitely be back again!

We decided to try a new place for us. We came across CK Pad Thai. The initial impression is that the dining area is simple and basic. It is clean. We were immediately sat upon entering. When it came to getting service, we felt like every time we were inconveniencing the worker. One other pair was dining in the restaurant. Their menu has a good selection. Although, it took over 15 to get his attention to take our order. We noticed he was on his phone behind the counter. The other issue was not enough staffing. Their phone was blowing up, tying up the worker. Eventually, the chef or worker from the back brought our appetizer out. After waiting for 25 minutes, we were really hungry. Now the service may have been lacking.. their flavor and food was not! The chicken satay was very tasty and tender. The main dish I got was evil jungle shrimp. The peanut sauce was awesome!!! The shrimp were plentiful as well. Very very tasty! Overall, the fold was excellent....their service was not gold at all. If you are getting CK, get it to go. I don't think they are set up well for people dining in. Felt like an afterthought.

Overall (A-) It's a great local safe bet place. The food is not excellent but pretty good and the lunch specials are a great value. Food (B) So I got the seafood fried rice lunch special. Included is chicken/rice soup and dumplings. All of the items were good. Safe bet local dining option quality. If I lived close by and wanted a Thai fix - I would order lunch from here Value (A+) Excellent value - especially in this economy. The lunch specials start at less than $10 and include soup and appetizers. It's a great deal. I think I was out the door with tip and tax and upgrade to seafood for $15. Service (A) Excellent friendly and quick service. If you are craving Thai, are near by and want a great value - check this place out.

Best Thai food in town! I can say that without hesitation because it's also the only Thai restaurant in Carol Stream. The dishes I have tried here have been on the sweet side and I'm more partial to the savory flavors. The dishes here are more Americanized than traditional Thai. Their online ordering is easy and convenient. CK Roll (12) $7 - Fresh Rolls with cream cheese, cucumber, avocado, bean sprouts and omelet. This is a unique roll you do not see elsewhere and it was worth a try. It's a soft roll that has mild flavor. Panang Curry with Shrimp $12 - The medium level spiciness is subtle. I think I would enjoy the hot and will try that next time. I like that it comes with a lot of vegetables (bell pepper, baby corn, jalapeno and broccoli). Stir Fried Basil with Veggies $11 - The sauce is tasty, but sweeter than I prefer. Lots of fresh veggies in this dish - mushrooms, basil leaves, onion, bell pepper, baby corn, snow pea, broccoli, string bean and jalapeno. ....| \ _ , , , - - , , _ , .../ , ` . - ' ` ' . _ \ - ; ; ; , _ ..| , a - ) ) _ . ; . Our favorite local hang-out is Mangy Dawg (best chicken strips you've ever tasted), but man, CK Pad Thai impressed us! We've lived in south Hanover Park for three years and finally tried this place since it's just a few blocks from home, haha... First, the prices! OMG. They're actually *fair* compared to some of the crazy $16.99+/entree costs we're seeing at the local Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants... The Pad Thai here is like $11 and even our incredible, shrimp-generous Fresh Spring Rolls were only $7.50 (that's literally a bargain since they're huuuge with a delightful peanut sauce). We also ordered the Chicken Satay appetizer, which was perfectly cooked chicken and generous portions. The Pad Thai was light on toppings while more heavy on noodles, but it still was really good! I'd add more veggies to it and peanut bits. There was so much, I had a great lunch the next day. :D Meanwhile, the Yellow Curry was delicious and I'd highly recommend that; very good sauce and plenty of vegetables in it. Finally, the Baby Banana Rolls! Deep-fried rolls filled with banana and featuring a chocolate sauce?- YES PLEASE. Heed my advice though: this item is deep-fried, so you may need to eat it first or it will get soft. We tossed it into an air-fryer and it crisped right up, but just and FYI. Otherwise, these were delicious and glad we ordered one for each person! (Portions are generous, but it's too good to share!)

Late afternoon on Wednesday, we tried this small Thai restaurant in our area. If I describe it in a few words, it was a "hidden gem"! I give 5 stars out of 5 without any doubt as a total experience. Our order: Iced Thai coffee Young coconut juice Lunch specials of..... - Vegetarian Drunken noodle - Thai pepper steak with fried dumpling, soup of the day, and white rice. Drink Iced Thai coffee - 5 stars out of 5. Nice and strong coffee with good sweetness. We did try Thai coffee before, but it still went above our expectation. Young coconut juice - 5 stars out of 5. Never tried it before, so it was an adventurous choice for me. Glad I did! So gentle coconut flavor, and big chunk of coconut slices and soft sherbet of coconut juice ice (?). Not sweet at all, just natural coconut flavor. It did clean up flavors between each food. Reminds me of tea's function in Indian cuisine. Appetizer: Fried dumpling - 5 out of 5. I usually prefer grilled dumplings to fried ones. But they offered fruity dipping sauce with them, that did change my mind. Cooking was perfect, texture was crispy outside and juicy meat inside. The dipping sauce was yummy and took away oily flavor. I kept dipping dumpling to the sauce every small bite. Lol yum Soup of the day (Cilantro, rice and chicken soup) - 5 out of 5. It was a chicken base soup but their cilantro made a completely different balance of flavors. I loved it! Thai pepper steaks with white rice - 3.5 stars out of 5. Beef was tender and easy to eat. Sauce got rather sweet and soy sauce-like taste. It was good, I liked it. But comparing to other menus, this one seemed a little less powerful. Nothing wrong with it, good volume and gentle flavor for Thai cuisine beginner like me. Vegetarian Drunken noodle - 5 out of 5. Ok, during Covid time, we started buying frozen "drunken noodle" bags from our local grocery market. But I realized they were not authentic. Drunken noodle in this restaurant has heavy straight punch of Smokey flavors from the first bite. Every bite, flavor got even better and better. It was impressive! I want to order it again and again, definitely the dish of the day this time. My image of Thai food was simply "spicy". And I felt a little scared to try because my stomach is weak to those spices. But glad we tried, it got so much flavors I didn't know. I think they offer surprises more than just yummy foods. I do want try "Thai curry" menus next time!

I'd rate it on par, or even better, than San Francisco's Burmese options. Service was much friendlier here, that's for sure! Tawk was a delightful host...making jokes along with dish recommendations. Sadly, we gobbled up the food before I remembered to take photos. D'oh! I highly recommend the Tea Leaf salad--a Burmese staple and a real treat if you haven't had it before. Very flavorful and just a hint of spice (don't eat the sliced peppers if you're spice-adverse, but we devoured them). We also had Shan Noodles (B8). I also recommend that. A mild to medium spice level and very tasty. Generous portions. Two dishes was enough for two though I wish we had tried the spring rolls or samosas too--we might have had leftovers if we had! I've repeatedly asked that they don't include so much rice in the chicken rice soup since it ends up more like wet chicken and rice, and yet they continue to do it. The flavor was pretty bad this time around anyway, so I will not be ordering it again. Strangely enough, the egg drop soup, which I do not normally care for, was quite good. So the quality varies, I guess. Speaking of quality, the vegetable eggrolls were over-cooked and dry, but the shrimp eggroll, which was part of a lunch order, was good. I also tried the fried rice for the first time and was not impressed at all. It looked like Panda Express fried rice, except Panda Express is better. Usually Chinese fried rice is much better than any chain. As for the main dishes, the sesame chicken and teriyaki chicken were good, but the broccoli chicken was just so-so. In the photos online it has a brown sauce, but it came with a white sauce. I'm not sure if that has to do with my special instructions asking to put garlic in it or not, though. I also asked in my special instructions not to provide utensils or any sauce but sweet and sour but they threw in hot mustard, soy sauce, and utensils anyway. So I still don't know if they can see the special instructions or just choose to ignore them. In any case, I will probably still order here occasionally since the location is convenient, but I'm not as thrilled with the food as I was in the past. That being said, they do pack the containers as full as possible which I appreciate as not all places do.

Portions are on the large side - even the papaya salad is a meal. I got the peach lemonade, vegetable spring rolls and the tofu, vegetable and noodles, which turned out to be a soup, basically Vietnamese ramen. The spring rolls are tasty and come with peanut sauce; the vegetable broth was savory with lots of baby bok choy, plenty of noodles and cubes of fried tofu - it was even better with some of the homemade hot sauce, which I highly recommend. The lemonade comes in a bubble tea disposable cup and contains tiny pieces of fruit - very fruity, not very citrusy. Service was friendly and very personable, which helps if you're serving 16 people. All of whom were happy.
