Several months ago, we put in a written request to cancel an existing homeowners' insurance policy (on behalf of my elderly mother) after she sold her home in November 2024. To date, there is no action, no confirmation of cancelation, no good faith communication from Katherine Brennan. Katherine ignored follow up emails and voicemails. She doesn't answer her phone, goes dark. She will only call back if I call from a fresh phone number and just gives me lip service in a rude manner with no results afterwards. I've never encountered anyone like this before, professionally. When I did get her on the phone, I asked if she was feeling okay (because of her combativeness), and she claimed she was fine, health wise. Another past reviewer, Katie F's (2022) review is spot on with what we are experiencing. It's bizarre. We are taking next steps, will take directly to the insurance company, and then file legal complaint with both the insurance commissioner and the insurance company.

I still don't really know when or how exactly I was finally removed since she NEVER EVER responded to me and still hasn't to this day. The way she responded to me just further proves how completely and utterly unprofessional she is. If her business tactic is to go dark on people, not perform services, not communicate and then go on the attack, then she has nailed it. I found them on Yelp and decided to acquire them for my 2021 tax. Upon calling, Susan answered and transferred me to Alvin, whom introduced himself as a CPA. He provided me a quote for the cost of my filing which I agreed; the price was unbelievable so I referred other friends to him. I submitted all my documents to him and then he disappeared. I called his cellular number, no answer..email no answer. After calling the office and reaching Susan, he responded and forwarded my documents. I questioned it because I didn't make much more than the previous year, however, whatever he did, I was paying triple the amount of tax. He made some adjustment and although it was still double what I paid for, he refused to explain or do any further work on file, complaining the fee he offered me was "too cheap". I'm sorry but you quoted that-I didn't force you. What was odd was, I ended up getting a penalty because there was an error; again, it was so difficult to reach him for clarification-I ended up paying the penalty of $1,800. My friends had the same experience. They went to his office and sat with him; thus, he still made so much error and refuses to review it. Sadly, when they called, left voicemail to request for a copy so they can have it review by another CPA, no answer. It goes directly to voicemail. Definitely never going back to him and I would not recommend him. If you misquote a customer, that's on you as a business but you should never provide crappy services and dismiss their emails/calls. If anything, take accountability and explain your wrongful quote and provide the proper quote/price. Even so-if you don't want to be audited but have errors, don't go here.
