" - I wasn't fine I was worried to death. Dr.Carter sensed the bond with Armani and myself. He did bloodwork- all was good . He came back in and said something about to cut the worrying I am going to clean his teeth RIGHT NOW while you wait. I will clean them , remove any bad teeth, sanitize his mouth, scale them, give him a 2 week antibiotic, feed him cottage cheese tonight and he can go back to his raw pork tomorrow. 45 minutes later he came back with Armani wrapped in a blanket , We had to pull 9 teeth- no sign of pain, no blood and Armani was wide awake. I took him home and my mom had purchased 2 large tubs of cottage cheese. Armani wouldn't touch it . He wanted his raw pork ( he had IBD) I gave him about a tablespoon of raw pork and he chomped it down looking at me cause he wanted more. Cautiously I gave him another tablespoon and then another . "Armani you can't have anymore" I said around 5 pm . Around 9 pm he was ready for dinner. - I gave him half his normal amount - Armani chomped it down and looked at me- he wanted more- I gave him another serving - We went to bed and the next morning I was following him to the kitchen- he was ready for breakfast without one sign of discomfort! This summer my 20 yo Landon needed a dental. He was sick from 2 bad teeth. Dr.Carter did the exact same thing -" i don't want you to worry - we are going to do the same thing as we did with Armani - he did his blood , he went over the procedure again . Gave him a sedative , just let him relax and I will be back in about 20 mins. Dr.Carter brought him back to me 45 minutes later- he cleaned, scaled and sanitized Landon's teeth and pulled 2. Landon was wide awake , showed no pain, wanted to eat as soon as he got home. Again chomping away like he had missed a meal. Dr.Carters staff is as amazing as Dr.Carter . Landon had quit eating a few days prior. They had no openings when I frantically called. The person answering the phone came right back and said Dr.Carter is going to see Landon . He can see him in 30 minutes. I live a little ways away , thought about the construction and it being rush hour " I don't think can possibly make it in 30 minutes" " it's ok drive safe and we will see you when you get here. " I got there and they warmly greeted me and took me straight back to the exam room. Also, price is not an issue when it comes to a 19 yo and and a 20 yo cat. safety is the issue. Before I found Dr.Carter I went to a handful of vets that were going to charge me hundreds and hundreds more. The vets couldn't convince me that they were going to be ok . Within minutes of my first initial visit with Dr.Carter and his caring manner and experience I knew Dr.Carter was the person that could do this . Within an hour of each visit we were on our way home . I am so grateful to Dr.Carter and his staff.Armani lived to be 21yrs and 10 months . Landon just had his breakfast and again he is 20 and going stronger as when he was 15. Dr.Carter and staff I am so thankful for you !

We have recently had to seek a new veterinarian and we are super happy with the kindness,…read morehappiness, and skills of the entire Cottage Animal Clinic staff! Today we took our dog for his annual visit and Dr. Leslie Rutherford was great with him, carefully explaining how she modifies some of the various vaccines depending upon age, lifestyle, and grooming. We took in our senior cat because he was having something wrong with his stomach and he was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which he started treatment for. A year goes by and he's only gotten worse with tons of vet visits with her and bloodwork but apparently they could never find an issue. Last night we had to rush my cat to the emergency vet because he couldn't move to find out he had a tumor in his abdomen which had caused internal bleeding and swelling. He also had virtually no bone marrow, red blood cells, or white blood cells and was basically at deaths door. The emergency vet said he had been in pain for probably more than a YEAR and not once did Dr. Gail Newcomb do anything to actually find the issue or do any screening or anything!! She's also very condescending and told my stepfather at a vet appointment that if you have to take your animal to the vet you're not a good owner. Again, DO NOT GO TO HER IF YOU CAN HELP IT!

So…read morelong as the care you need is relatively simple and your animals are healthy, the office seemed great. However, when the time came that I had two very sick pets, I had a horrible experience with the care, diagnosis and customer service at this office. I will never recommend somebody go there again. I took my dog, Sherman, in Monday morning, as I knew something was seriously wrong. Sadly, they misdiagnosed him and sent Sherman home with Pepcid; but offered to keep him for observation. Given that they had just evaluated Sherman, I didn't feel it was in his best interest because he would not be able to get decent rest while they "observe" him in between appointments. They already knew he had been vomiting and not eating. Two days later, Wednesday, nothing had changed, and Sherman was considerably more ill and with a fever. I brought him in, they took his temperature, did a blood draw and offered to keep him to "observe" again. They had no explanation of what they would do differently other than wait for the blood panel to come back. I knew lying in a cage at the vet office would only cause him additional anxiety when he was already very sick. By Thursday, my other dog, Maisie, started falling ill. The Clayton vet could not fit me in until Friday later in the morning. I called earlier that Friday and spoke with a technician, to try and understand what they were going to do differently. Suddenly, Dr Anne Clayton came on the phone and started berating me. After remaining silent while she went on a rant for 2 1/2 minutes, she ended the call by telling me to go to another vet. There I was on a Friday morning, now with two very sick dogs, looking for a new vet. Thank God for All Star Veterinary in Westfield! Absolutely amazing! They fit us in immediately, repeated the appropriate bloodwork and started my dogs on the antibiotics they needed. It was dicey over over the weekend as I had to hydrate both dogs with a syringe until the antibiotics kicked in. My first dog had a much longer road of recovery given that he had gone so long before receiving proper care and medicine. After the weekend, I texted Clayton Vet to see if they would bare any responsibility for what had taken place. I understand that sometimes we have bad days or mistakes happen. Instead, he responded defensively, stating he listened to the recordings and that he was inactivating my account. I understand his desire to back the other veterinarians at that office. But he could've responded simply with, "We had a lot going on at the time. Sorry if things slipped... how are the dogs doing now?" After years of a business relationship, and sending them many new clients, it is disappointing to say the least. My dogs almost died as a result. Dr. Clayton told me that he had a recording of the call - I strongly encourage him to post that recording for others to decide for themselves. What's a shows an additional testament to their ignorance and customer service is how they continue to advertise on their Yelp page. They're actually using a picture of MY dogs, standing in MY front door to promote their business. See below.

Ophelia isn't the friendliest, especially when she knows she's going to the vet. She gets stressed about having to go, and then I get stressed because she's stressed. The staff at Leo's does a great job at calming her down (which helps me calm down) and doing what they need to do. Ophelia has even let a couple of the Vet Techs give her some pets, which is definitely not a normal thing she lets strangers do. I've had to take Ophelia in a couple times for an emergency, and both times they were able to fit us in same day. They did a great job of going over what was going on with her and what our options were. They also assured me that what she was going through wasn't caused by me, which was a relief and a great thing to hear in the moment. They even called a couple days later to check on how Ophelia was recovering. Overall, the staff at Leo's is so friendly, accommodating, and you can tell they truly care about each pet that comes through their doors.

Some techs have wrong billing information, some vets glazing over important information, assuming you can afford all recommendations, and despite multiple follow up visits, my pets aren't getting better. The techs are relatable and very loving to my pets, but the vets aren't solving long term problems

Trigger warning: pet bereavement…read more We are newer to the area and had went to a vet on Springmill but I didn't care for his bedside manner towards my cat. Anyways, Lilly Vanilly (Lilly) was always food insecure. She was a dumpster kitty that was weaned way too soon. She became obese and had some health problems because of it. Last month she became constipated. She would strain and cry. We attempted all of the things. Pumpkin, forcing fluids, high fiber wet food. We made an appointment and they got us in the same day for a ROUTINE appointment. They didn't charge for an ER appointment which I appreciated. They took X-rays and Lilly needed to be deobstipated. I left her there for the afternoon. The initial deobstipation didn't work. The second one a few days later worked much better and she seemed like she was getting along much better. Back to her normal self! Fast forward a week later and she was just not doing great. She had to go to the kitty ER in Indy and stayed for a day. Anyways long story short they fixed her once again. Temporarily. We lost our poor girl today. I'm not sure if it was the constipation or the fact that she may have had an obstruction but her last month of life was heartbreaking. All-Star was incredible through the entire process. Seeing these comments about how expensive it is has been strange because I feel like the cost of services is on par with any other facility but the staff here shines! Even follow up texts to ensure things are going well. Yesterday I made an appointment for 0800 today because she stopped eating and began exhibiting signs of generalized weakness. Lilly didn't make it to her appointment. She passed about 7am today. I still brought her in, but a different kind of appointment. We made the decision to get the personalized cremation where they return the ashes in an urn of your choice. They also allowed me to take paw prints which I turned into art. They'll do much better prints for me as well (I'm not a professional paw print taker, but I love to paint and Lilly would always kind of just sit and watch while I create. I'm glad I had supplies with me today) anyways. As sad as this story is I still have two cats as patients and I'm very impressed with the care that we received.

Dr. Cable comes in with a very calm manner and loads of yummy dog treats: * peanut butter, which is smeared on a paper plate * wet dog food, also put on a paper plate * other good things my girls love/loved. Each had a slightly rough first meeting, as they hadn't met her, but once they got whiffs of things in the basket she brings in, well, they were in love. She's always aware of their moods and reactions and easily works to reassure them, which has been quite successful. The main issue I have has been getting one or the other through the waiting room, as both are/were very protective. The costs are a bit high, but I've joked with friends that I put money into a matching 401(k) at all my jobs mostly for my dogs' care. Even if I hadn't, I'd stick with Dr. Cable. The staff is also exceptional. They've gotten to know my dogs and have helped with getting them in the door and into an exam room. So appreciate that.
