After a while they chose to also brew beers. They use hops from the crops, it rhymes. Coming here the first time it was kind of confusing. It's a long way from anything else. The entrance to the farm looks like you're going to someone's house. A parking area is in front. This is basically just an open area on grass. A little walk to the structure that kind of looks like a white barn. Inside it's a lot bigger than it looks. Has a few rooms including a patio in the back. In front there's a few tables. A limited but great variety of beers. It's about $6 a pint. Best one we had of these was the Overcast. This is a Hefeweizen, which has banana and clove flavors and is classic stuff. It's about $1 for potato chips. There's also popcorn. Great place for hyper local beers. It's limited space making it not a place for a big group or parties, and there's a few snacks like popcorn. Inside, you could pay $8 for a pint of one beer or sample of three beers. Depending on the size you chose, you got to keep your cup. They also gave us a token for a free beer anywhere in town. There were picnic tables in the parking lot to enjoy drinks at casually. In the adjacent building, one could do a self guided tour of brewing equipment, canning equipment, and watch a background video from the owners. Across the street, they have a gift shop as well as their beer depot. They had merchandise available from glassware, apparel, pet items, coasters/stickers, and more. They had a lot of sizes available in store. The beer depot is a room where you can grab your drinks in 6 or 24 pack sizes. They have some beers specific to the brewery only but also had your wisconsin classics found in stores. Overall, I'm so happy I finally got to experience New Glarus Brewing. The brewery is under construction until next year so it's a little bit restricted in what there is compared to when I was last here in 2019, however, it's still worth a visit. They do have a large gift shop/beer depot. I always buy a lot of beer to mule back to KC. On this visit they had a limited beer release so it was busy. The individuals working in the depot were a bit rude to be honest. I don't know if they were just over it because there were a lot of people, but they weren't friendly nor very helpful. If it had been my first visit, it definitely would've been a turn off. The individuals working in the gift shop were nice. I bought a few Christmas gifts from there. After I bought all the merch I wanted, I headed across the street where they had a makeshift tasting room. They had lots of tables to sit at outside. In the tasting room you have the open of a pint or 3 tasters. You get to keep the glass either way you go which is pretty cool. I went with the taster option. They give you a glass and a bracelet that has 3 taster tabs that they remove as you get each one. The individuals working that station were nice and friendly. I love their sours and had to get pours of the strawberry rhubarb which is one of my favorites. They also have a self guided tour. It's on the smallish side but still cool to see even with all the construction. The bathroom situation was a bit iffy. Definitely try to use the gift shop bathrooms because otherwise it's porta-potties or there are restrooms in the tour area. Those are pretty run down and the stalls don't lock. My apologies to the poor lady I walked in on mid piss with her pants around her ankles. Overall, it's definitely worth checking out especially if you've never been. I can't wait until they finish construction and I'm able to return to see what it looks like.

I can't rate that in Yelp but just know it was a great stay, we met so many cool people staying there too, and you should stay there if you come up to check out the barn. Onto the barn! This place has a rich history and I'm so impressed with the way they've maintained the original charm of the barn and grounds while also renovating with modern conveniences. There was a lot of time and effort put into this place! They have a substantial craft beer list, the top ones for me were the pina colada and the deeamsicle, but my friends had many others they enjoyed too. There are beers for sale to take home, and lots of merch and swag. They serve pizza if you want to nosh on something with your beer. We got a Reuben pizza to split and it was great! The owners and employees were caring, kind, and took time to explain the beers and make sure we were well taken care of. Our group couldn't say enough good things about this place!

A pretty busy place with locals and people from other areas. There's about what's expected on the menu it seems. Before even coming in there's a smell of barbecue. It's got a pretty full menu. There's a bar in the middle surrounded by plenty of tables. Beers are the main thing of course. It's about $7 a pint. Best one we had of these was the Coldstream Lager. This is a full bodied Bavarian style. A lot of the food is meaty. Brisket and that kind of stuff. Among the appetizers is the Cowboy Caviar. One of the few vegetarian options. This is a mixture of beans, cilantro, corn, jalapeños, red onions, and tomatoes. It's about $16 for the Tex-Mex Bowl. This has avocado, cilantro rice, Cowboy Caviar, marinated cucumbers, pico de gallo, and Thai sauce. Of course an option is to get it with meats added. There's plenty more things including burgers and pork belly tacos among the livestock based foods. For around here it's one of the better places for big crowds. You order with the bartender who gives you a buzzer and then you have to walk out of the restaurant (still indoors) and down the hall to pick up your food. Not far but the concept is odd considing you are tipping the bartender for the total bill but they don't even bring your food. Additionally, because I was dining solo I carried my beer and belongings with me to pick up food because I did not want to leave my drink unattended. I mean it works but I still think it's weird.
