The service was outstanding including Cian, Cormac and Karl in the bar. The rooms are nicely sized, extremely clean and top notch amenities. When there is Elemis products in the bathroom and a Dyson hairdryer to use after your shower, anyone will feel like royalty. I loved this place and can't wait to come back!

The staff are very attentive and there is parking (just dont forget to get your ticket validated before you leave). The lounge has big comfy seats and is very cosy, they also do a good carvery every day (although if you are staying there I believe the food stops at about 9pm so make sure you eat before that). I had a beautiful veggy soup with brown bread for lunch there yesterday and it was light and tasty but just what I needed to fill me up. This place gets a thumbs up from me!

Staff are mostly very friendly and helpful and the seating areas are roomy with beautiful views onto the grounds and River Blackwater if you happen to get a spot near a window. The decor is absolutely stunning within the premises. There is also a spa on location, and you can avail of spa treatments even if you do not happen to be staying at the location. I would recommend Bellinter House as I think it is a beautiful spot in a fabulous reclusive setting.

The restaurant had all good food, particularly for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was simple but good. The grounds were absolutely stunning, service was generally well done all around. The only thing that I really bugged me about most hotels in Ireland is the lack of a mini fridge, which is the one thing that I really look for in hotels, and a hotel without one is just disappointing. The breakfast was not great compared to the other hotels I've stayed in in that they hardly have anything. On the self serve table, there's only fruit, bread, cereal and fruit yoghurt. You could order a hot breakfast for an extra charge though, so the very poor selection= one star deduction. There is no gym or fitness center and no elevator/ wheelchair access, so this place just gets a 3 star rating for the nice warm rooms, free but unstable Wifi and friendly staff. Otherwise they would have gotten 2 stars for facilities and food alone. Overall: A basic hotel that is cheap and sufficient for a short stay (not as long as I did!) No hair dryer - would help. Staff was pleasant. Excellent location. Our room had a double and a single bed - ok for one night with kids. Stops food at 9! Breakfast not included just FYI. Also no elevator but it's not that bad of a walk up the stairs. Overall, is say it's ok.

With our room booking we received day passes to Tayto Park, Dublin Zoo and Funtasia Waterpark for a very reasonable. The hotel is located a short drive from Ashbourne town which is a great place to pop in for a meal with plenty of really good restaurants. The hotel also has a nice selection of dishes on their al a carte menu as well as a buffet. We dined in he second night from the buffet and found the food to be excellent, especially the desserts which included beautiful profiteroles filled with creme patisserie (not cream which is a sin) and a wedge of cheese cake which was light and delicious, melting in the mouth making you feel like having a second one would not hurt the waist line too much. Every member of staff from the cleaning staff to duty managers always greeted us with a smile and a friendly hello and you are really made feel at home while staying there. The rooms are warm, comfortable and modern making each night after a hectic day a joy to return to. The hotel ensures that all guests are catered for especially the children with nightly activities organised for all the family which included a kids disco and bingo. We attended the kids disco with DJ Richie B who really entertained the kids giving out prizes and covering children with snow from his snow machine while playing frozen songs. I could go on and on but to sum everything up this is a fantastic hotel with fantastic staff in a fantastic location. We loved it and will definitely be back.
