Asks if the length is the way I want it and is able to fix it how I want it. Waiting time was not bad at all. She also offers waxing and eyelash extensions services! No chemical smells inside the store which is a huge plus. Prices are pretty up there but unfortunately the norm nowadays. My nails were acrylic with nail art on 6 nails and 2 crystal added on two nails and my total was $85 without tip. But regular gel is I believe $35-45. I've been in search of a good nail salon so I decided to give City Nails a shot, I was greeted by a very sweet woman named Amber she had another client but still set me up, offered me water, and brought out the nail color options for me to look through while she finished up her other client. This was my first time at City Nails. I was interested in a mani/pedi so I called ahead. The owner answered and said she had time, so I was there in about 10 minutes. I was seated right away even though she had another client. The other woman working got to me right away while I enjoyed their massage chairs and was offered water. I opted for the deluxe pedicure because it had been awhile since my last one. I picked out a bright pink/ purple gel for my toes and hands. Once my toes where done the owner finished my manicure. She is very thorough and they turned out great! 10/10 for nails and toes! The owner is very friendly and we had a great conversation about her children and how she came to own this salon. I love it here! I hadn't been to City Nails under its previous ownership, but I've had nothing but great experiences here with Amber. She's SO talented - she's definitely the best in town when it comes to nail art. Although I only get my nails done once every 2 months or so, I love supporting their family operation :). This is my second visit with Amber. I had an oil change across the street and walked over to wait and had a pedicure and white tips and a full acrylic set of ombre nails. I do massage therapy and my nails didn't lift from all the oils and hand washing in 2 weeks. I was there today for a backfill. We decided to go shorter. And I decided on a black and white design that we modified for short almond nails. We had an appointment on a Sunday afternoon for two deluxe pedicures. Both ladies gave us excellent service and really took their time. We will definitely be back! $45 each for deluxe pedis, which includes an exfoliating scrub, cooling mask, and warm stone massage. ZERO STARS! only giving five so it will go to the top. I'm honestly horrified at what I saw at this nail salon. The manicurist was working on my feet and another persons feet at the same time with out gloves! Going back and forth without washing her hands. she cut my toenail, put the clippings in the water and asked me to then put my feet back into the water. There was no massage. The gel uv device she had my feet in, she then asked me to put my hands in without cleaning. also her two kids were there screaming and her daughter was trying to crawl into my lap... also there is a dirty mattress in one on the back rooms with garbage covering the floors... I'm horrified. Honestly if state board were to come by this place would 100% get shut down. I have a new born and I'm so stressed that I might have caught something durning my visit. What a WONDERFUL family business!!! I got to meet everyone from Owner's parents to her 10-month old baby. She took TIME with me and made the pedicure about me. We had great conversation and it flowed naturally. Most times places I have been, I sit quiet and the person giving the pedicure chats with other employees; Not always bad, but this place knows how to treat her clients!!! I was nervous about coming here because there were some negative reviews and the place itself seems not only run down, but kind of dirty. I only came in because they had availability for a walk in that day and I needed my nails done, they were grown out. The woman doing my nails didn't wear gloves (which had me concerned) and I picked up a fungal infection under two of my nails because of her!!! She used her own nails to dig under mine (disgusting!) and now I'm still suffering, weeks later. This is just two days after getting my gel manicure. They started peeling the very next day and chipping. I love the customer service and she was super sweet but the reason behind paying more for gel is that they last longer. Okay so i've been to many many many nail salons for years. I have never seen anyone care more about their customers satisfaction than the ladies at City Nails. I don't know her name but I do know she's the mother of the little girl that is there while she works, which is no problem with me. Ok let's start off by saying I think the woman owner is super nice. It's true about her kid. Her 3 year old is in a room while she works. Fine w me...u gotta do what u gotta do. I made an appt about half an hour before I came in. I was the only one there..then someone else came. She waited awhile till the male owner came to work on her nails. Then another customer came in. She asked if they had time for a fill. They said yes and to give them 10 min. Mind u they weren't even done prepping my nails. So when she did my nails she would put a layer and then cure it for literally 30 seconds each layer. She was rushing. Other places have me cure 2 or 3 times per layer. Felt extremely rushed so their other customer wouldn't leave. Again they were very nice but they didn't give me the customer service I expected so I have to give a3 Star. Also I don't know how long these will last not being cured. We will see. Update-5 days later and my nails are chipped like I thought it would. :/ read more
