Stopped in for groceries while visiting Silverthorne. The store was big and brightly lit with lots of quality items including fresh bread and pre-prepared foods. I got some of the City Market brand pita chips which were EXCELLENT, way better than Stacey's, as well as a Caesar pasta salad that was so tasty. Prices were on par with current inflation. They also have a nearby gas station that was on the cheaper end compared to surrounding ones. read more

The checkers are not at all helpful to customers. They seldom thank you and cannot help you when your digital coupons are not honored (a common experience). Today, the man who sacked my groceries used my reusable bags to the person in front of me in line. I noticed it as the other customer was headed out the door and could not stop her I'm not really upset about the cost of the bags but, as I am on crutches, it is difficult to carry their paper bags into my house. I tried to get the sacker to get my bags back but he doesn't speak English. The checker just kept telling me I didn't bring bags. I have shopped here before and my previous experience was good. However this week I started with the vegetables. I didn't find a good quality of the vegetables I intended to purchase. I saw others repeating the process of selecting vegetables and then putting them back. Boars Head turkey was a poor quality and taste. Never buy it again!! I also purchased the cheese sticks and they taste old so probably toss them. Bacon tastes good but very very thin. I'm not use to buying bacon that's too thin. There was very few employees out on the floor but I did manage to find someone to assist with locating items on my list. The clientele were sketchy at times and not what I expected to see at times. I saw two men wearing Police Caps getting out of a beaten up Tahoe and I sincerely questioned their intentions going into the store. Again there was virtually no one in sight working!!! A woman, who I presume is a manager at the customer service stand took on a nasty demeanor after I placed my purchase on the counter. Whatever discontent she was experiencing was all the more embarrassing and outlandish since I had a small child with me. Would I return to this store? No. It does get one star for being near the Interstate and one star for having items you can find in any food retailer. Other than that there is nothing special here except the degree to which I was belittled when stepping up to make a purchase. We were visiting Dillon over Christmas. We were planning to visit several ski resorts. This store was conveniently located. It had a everything we needed for our meals. I try to support local, but when visiting Keystone and needing beer/wine, the liquor store a few doors down charges as much as 40% higher prices for all the common brands. So, City Market it is. In any case, the food prices and selection are great, even including the butcher counter where you can find the run of the mill stuff any grocery store has, to very well cut filets. If you're from the west coast, and already have a membership with Kroger, King Soopers, Ralphs, and some of the other common chains you'll find in SoCal and similar, your ID / phone will work here too for discounts, without having to sign up all over again. read more

Wow sooo rude! I spent $209 on groceries and asked if I could change $5 in quarters for laundry and was told by cashier she does not give change and to go to customer service. I waited in customer service behind a girl that paid for her cigarettes in quarters so I knew for sure I would have no issues, however when I asked the lady (gray short hair spiked up) if I could please change $5 she told me no even though I saw her put over $10 in quarters in her register from girl that bought cigarettes. She then proceeded to walk away and say I need to go help a customer and I asked her what the heck am I ? And she walked away and ignored me! Sooo rude! Never coming here again! read more

Decent mid-priced grocery store. They have all your typical grocery items here as well as flowers and a small pharmacy section. There's a liquor store in the same complex (but not in the store). Definitely recommend getting their store card to save some dollars. Checkout guy was super nice and also fluent in Spanish. He addressed me first in Spanish then switched to English when I responded in English. Great prices on a lot of the pharmacy items like body wash and shampoo and also good prices on yogurt. I was surprised there was tax on some of the food items like single serve cups of yogurt and deli dips... weird. read more

A horrible store, it's dirty, the staff is miserable, there is always a line. My wife is in a wheelchair and can't hardly get around because there is always stuff in the aisles, the rude ass tourists climb over her. Besides the pallets of food in the aisles there are these families they hire to stock, there is always one working while five stand around talking and they always have to be in the way. If you are one of these tourists or second homeowner condo dwellers, please go away, we don't like you and you ruined the town. read more

Congratulations you are my 500th review and last one for 2020. The grocery store had everything we needed at fair price. The only thing I was bummed was the fact the butcher didn't have fresh buffalo steak or ground beef. They only sold prepackaged Buffalo which wasn't the vibe we wanted to go with. I bought 3 bags of groceries at Kroger (they own 90% of grocery stores in the u.s.). The bagging boy put 2 of the 3 bags in my cart. I realized one was missing the next day. The manager asked me why I didn't call immediately when I got home. I showed him that my receipt gives me 14 days. (Putting the customer on trial is today's system of gaining customer loyalty today). I pointed out that the store was the largest chain in the u.s., that he was overworked & underpaid because of the newer corporate business models, that him & I were in a debate, & that 30 years ago, the managers apologized sincerely, & cheerfully gave the customer the missing items (no questions asked). He then told me "I OWN THIS CORPORATION". Folks, I am boring you with my whining because this manager's statement proves the extremity that "corporate loyalty" has reached. I'm sure everyone who reads this has had multiply similar experiences. They say "children learn by imitating their parents". I've witnessed that people are imitating the corporate behavior that is getting worse and worse as time goes on. my experience today was not the case 40, 30, 20, 0r 10 years ago & I want everyone to realize that it will probably continue to get worse. Terrible customer service from Val. The digital coupons I downloaded did not ring up. I had to prove that I downloaded the coupons( really) and bring all of the items back in so they could be scanned even though I was standing there with my receipt. Ridiculous. our party of 13 came in from out of state for a six night stay. Glad that curbside pick up was offered. Spent 4 hours developing our grocery list and ordering. When we arrived, the curbside pick up did not work as well as we had hoped. 1) substitutions were made without notifying us and/or asking for our approval; 2) items were omitted from our order. The omitted items necessitated that further shopping be done in person. Some of the items omitted were found during the in person shopping, which was disappointing. We chose City Market in part because their website indicated that they accepted returns. Specifically, the website indicated that electronic receipts, i.e. curbside, were acceptable for returns. When we tried to return items, we ran into several issues. After agreeing with the manager that they would accept non perishable items, the employee determined that she would not accept any further electronic receipt returns when there were 3 items left to process. Maybe the employee was having a rough day, but her responses in our situation did not create a favorable impression regarding City Market and their curbside process. read more

I was vacationing from out of state and I reaIized that I needed a prescription refill. I called City Market Pharmacy in Dillon and was so fortunate to speak with Iris. she then took care of everything for me and assured me that she would handle the transfer procedure and let me know when my prescription would be ready. We shopped in-person, so can't speak to any delivery or curb-side pickup. We found the store very well-stocked, with an excellent assortment of fresh produce, good deli meats and meat counter, pastries, etc., etc. All in all, just a very good, solid and not small grocery store. It's not a liquor store, but it does have a fairly decent selection of beer. We knew we were going to the liquor store a couple doors down (that too was not small, and as good of a selection of beer, wine and liquor as you could expect anywhere). So we weren't paying attention to whether or not City sells anything other than beer. That said, the standard "commoner" selection of beer was well-stocked (lol... yes, I'm a beer snob). Coors, Bud, Miller, etc. - and all their "light" versions - were there... all the usual suspects. And for a grocery store, they had a pretty good selection of craft beers too. This includes the ability to mix-match and customize your craft beer purchase with a pretty good selection of individual cans/bottles from many different breweries. read more

The florist at the City Market blew us away. She was beyond helpful and was able to get enough color specific flowers together for a wedding in a short amount of time when our online vendor fell through. It ended up being prettier and cheaper than our original purchase. read more

Despite the Kroger Corp's belated policy that all employees will wear a mask was issued late City Market in Dillon is not enforcing this. This morning I saw multiple employees without any protective face covering. It is a great store but this really irritates me. If you are in Summit County this is the place to do your grocery shopping. It is the busiest King Soopers/County Market in the state, and has gangbusters business throughout the ski season. It is very, very busy from December thru early April, and the merchandise gets blown out on a daily basis. None of the competitors carry as much nor at the same price point. Major negative--parking lot is a major danger zone. Local EMTs will tell you of repeated casualties, lots of pedestrians get hit, plus fender benders, plus broken limbs when surface ices up. Very, very busy mid-afternoon thru 9 pm in ski season. Aisles are tight and hard to navigate. Best to shop after 9 pm--but beware, they close at 11. Highlights--incredible energy/snack bar sections, which sell like crazy since skiers/hikers buy them in large quantities. The Starbucks inside is way cheaper with much smaller lines than the one on the other side of the parking lot. The deli has lots of cheap food, and is the best place to eat fast and cheap anywhere in this high-prices environment. Cheese, seafood, bakery, and vegetable sections are top. In October/November you will see many of the top skiers here. Lindsay Vonn, etc., lots of Europeans if you know the faces. All the employers are sober, and management does everything it can to keep wait times down. Alcohol section mediocre, serves 3.2 beer only. Right by bus stop, easy to get to. read more

This store is true mess. On one of there busiest days they are stocking shelves when there is no room for your cart. They should stock at night or days they are more quiet. The whole store is disorganized. I have finally had enough and will not step one foot in that store. This has to be credited to miss management. I'm impressed with the non-GMO and organic selection they're starting to carry. Compared to the Safeway in Frisco, City Market has a better deli (and prepared lunches), produce, and fish (far superior selection) departments; Safeway edges them out in the dairy compartment; bread/donuts and meats are about the same but Safeway as organic sausages (nit-picking but that's what comparison reviews are about). Here's an interesting tid-bit: their Starbucks is cheaper than the neighboring sole Starbucks establishments. And their gas rewards program has saved me some serious $$--and convenient with a gas station in the retail complex. read more

I'm taking a star off because they didn't serve hard alcohol or champagne. Good thing they had a liquor store next door but we actually came here to pick up some snacks and sandwiches for on the way back to Denver. Lots of parking spaces. Clean and the customer service that i remember was good as well. We ordered a sandwich from the deli and it wasn't the best but it fed me so i can't complain. I'm not from Colorado so we were just visiting. I don't see myself coming back here but if you looking to buy champagne or alcohol don't come here, go next door. This local grocery store reminds me of a local grocery store in my home town. Getting in and out was quick and easy. Go in, grab what you need at good prices, and check out. There seemed to always be someone around to ask a question if you couldn't find something which is helpful when you are not from the local town. It appeared this may have been the only grocery store in town but then again I didn't search to hard for another one just continued to repeatedly visit this one since the service was good. read more

My name is Jim Tonneson, have been living in town since 1984, it's either here or Safeway in Frisco which is about 5 miles west. So I mostly shop here because of location. Some of the common issues: wrong price, sale item but when you check out it's NOT, then I have to go through the whole time and wait. Or when I use those coupons the store sends in the mail, same thing: this item is not the right one, so I skip that item. Well recently, to my best knowledge about a month or so ago I puechased 3 Digirono frozen pizzas. ALL 3 had been THAWED AND REFROZEN. Not sure where in CCP critical control point; delivery truck,wherehouse,or at the store. NO kidding the carboard that had 1/4 inch of ICE and bunch of frost/ice on the pizza, so when you cook it, it's still mushy on the pizza, Today I cooked the last of the 3 with the same condition NOT EDIBLE, so I decided to call the store and talk to the manager. He didn't even answered the phone correctly, NO NAME, NO GREETING KEPT SAYING YOU'RE DISCONNECTING. So after fighting that issue, all he said was do you want to bring it back with receipt and we can refund you. I don't save my receipts especially from over a month ago. He didn't even listen as I had to keep repeating myself. When something like this happens, it ruins other food items besides what I purchased. Likely I didn't get sick, but this manager didn't even ask if I got sick or anything. As much as I'd like NOT to shop here, but they have the monopoly in town. maybe I'll shop Safeway even if I have to drive 5 miles. This could have been a serious issue, but didn't phase this guy what so ever. Just hope that this company realizes and someone of importance or cares about their customers. After tonight, NO MORE CITY MARKET, but Safeway is part of the same company. What can I say about my neighborhood City Market? It is as good as it gets! Why, you ask? Because their prices are always competitive! They carry almost everything from food to kitchenware to personal items, to cleaners to toys and movies. I also love their expansive selection of gift cards! They have the friendliest team members of any Kroger store, from Bre to Jake and Sean to Terri! As a local, I know them rather well, but as a customer they know how to help me get what I want and in a quick hurry too. Several times they were out of something and made up for it with something else and comp'd it. Now THAT is excellent service. Granted, the remodeling that happened last year was a large obstacle and gave most of us locals our fair share of nightmares. However, now that it is completed the store feels cleaner and brighter. The colors are warm and welcoming. I love that the flowers are the 1st thing you see coming in. A welcoming scent too! The produce section received the much needed overhaul and growth. Everything is labeled well from 'organic' or not organic. They now have a special sushi section along with the deli for hot sandwiches and chicken. They still have the regular deli meat and seafood sections, which are well laid out. Though I enjoy the new layout, it will take a while to get accustom to the various areas. The tea has moved, the 1st thing I noticed. I still struggle to find the jello and pudding. City Market in Dillon also stopped ordering a few of my favorite things (Lindor Lindt Hazelnut chocolate and Stinger orange chews). Overall they still do an excellent job and they have longer hours too! Also, you can tip your customer service person if they help you out with groceries! I suggest this because we get a lot of tourists and it is like playing dodge-ball in the parking lot! Lastly, they are spot on when it comes to my coupons. I still get them mailed, though there is speculation that they are doing away with the coupon mailing and going electronic. Either way, I love when I get my Dasani coupons, my Quilted Northern coupons or Picante for my oldest or Jimmy Dean's for my youngest. I will shop here for as long as the place is around. I love City Market and usually love their food but unfortunately me and my family had a really bad batch of sushi. It was the only meal we shared of the day that was the same and made us all feel super sick. I won't go into any more detail than that. The quality had always been exceptional before this. The salmon had a very strange smell to it and I regret not listening to my instincts. It did not sit out and was eaten within 15 minutes of being purchased. We are very careful about the way we handle raw fish and this was the first incident of its kind. The selection of groceries is great for the mountains and the prices are reasonable. read more

If you are like me and you go forward with city market pickup where you select what you want online. Make sure you call and speak to manager on the phone before you head there. if the prices are not coming up correctly. This way you know you will not be over charged. Just because the item is on sale on the flyer or app doesn't mean that will be the correct price in pick up. Also check your order before you hand them your card. They have given me the wrong items not enough, too much and once you pay they will not take it back or refund you even credit. Do not let them con you into giving them your card first because they will try. Otherwise it is a great supermarket with nice prices and a nice selection and some tasty things you can only get a city market or Kroger. read more
