Having fun with some regulars like Jamie and Aaron!
Jennifer B.

A great neighborhood bar for sure! It's a non smoking bar with outside seating for those who do smoke. So it's nice walking in and not having to worry about the smoke smell etc. they have food and all sorts of beer wine and liquor. The place is very laid back and relaxing especially after a long day at work. A bunch of tvs! Pool tables, darts, lounge area. And plus there's a bowling alley connected. Did come on the weekends which can be fun. Lots of regulars to get to know, my kind of place when I just want a few brews and relax. All the bartenders are pretty and nice. I'm lucky to live so close.

Westside Sports Bar and Lounge - Inside

Westside Sports Bar and Lounge

Westside Sports Bar & Lounge- West Melbourne, FL 4.5 Stars…read more "Ask not what you can do for your country. Ask what's for lunch." - Orson Welles Glancing down at my name generator, I couldn't help but chuckle a bit. I was headed to West Melbourne to check out Westside Sports Bar & Lunge. I was chuckling as in my mind it's still the 80s and West Melbourne is a wasteland, not the teeming metropolis it is today. Shaking my head, I headed OTB. I love my sleepy little island community, but even I had to admit that the Melbourne Metropolitan Area has grown leaps and bounds and I like it. More businesses are moving in and that means, yep, you guessed it, more eating establishments. To that end, I pulled into the lot of Westside Sports Bar & Lounge, parked and went about the business of providing the working public with unsullied food reviews. I was greeted warmly upon entering a lovely lady who introduced herself as Mandy. Mandy is my bartender, waitress and cook today and she has to be the most non-oleaginous person I have met wearing all of these hats In fact, she was quite the opposite exuding the patina of a bar warrior. I asked Mandy for a single malt, neat, one Cheeseburger (medium-rare), one order of 6 Wings (medium heat) and a Philly Cheesesteak. As Mandy turned to get to work on my grub, I took a moment to take in the joint. I love coming to bars early, you can smell the stale alcohol and fun from the night before. Mandy returned with my Scotch and I must say, it looked like a good 3 oz pour...very generous. As I am 163 days sober, I won't be tasting it, but what a bang for your buck. The place is loaded with fun games and had a classic inviting bar atmosphere (think local watering hole). Mandy soon returned with my standard bar fare and I turned my attention to the job at hand. While the food may have been the standard found in Sports Bars across this great land of ours, this was far from ordinary. The Cheeseburger was cooked to a perfect rare and served on a grilled bun (my favorite kind of bun). The onions, lettuce and tomato were all garden fresh and generously applied with just the right amount of mayo. The wings were cooked to perfection and the sauce had just the right amount of "oomph" to know you had a bit of heat in your mouth. There was a complex mix of sweet, tangy and heat that made my taste buds do a little shimmy. Moving on to the Philly Cheesesteak I paused to take in the perfect symmetry the sandwich presented. The meat was perfectly cooked, the bun seasoned and grilled and the whole thing was flawlessly executed. The Big Boy says, "If you're looking for a place to hang your hat for a bit, hunker down with some good grub and drinks with friends, look no further than Westside Sports Bar & Lounge." #bigboydiningout

Miller's Ale House - A plate of our world famous Zingers®

There was plenty to take home and have a second meal, and she said it was all delicious. I ordered the soup (clam chowder) and house Caesar. The soup was nice and hot and tasted great. The salad was good, though a tad heavy on the dressing. A general note about Miller's and its kids' menu: I have eaten at a few of these places around the state, and I find their policy about adults eating off the kids' menu to be weird. Some servers are fine with it and some claim management won't let them allow you to order of the other menu. Most items on the kids' menu cost about $8. The (adult) meatloaf is $8.50. The fish and chips are $7.99. So, what is the big deal about an adult ordering off the kids' menu if the costs are the same? Some of us don't want a 1/2 pound burger. The kids' menu has a 1/4 lb. burger. Also, we sometime dine with our disabled nephews, and they usually prefer "kid friendly" dishes. I wish Miller's would review this policy.

Since we were catching up with family we chatted away about 45 minutes and we realized "where is our food". Somewhere things went off the rails. To say we were surprised is an understatement. Finally the manager comes over and says the food should be out in a minute. An hour after ordering our food arrived. The food was average at best. Not what we experienced before. Two of the six ordered the daily special (ribs), two carbonara, ravioli and a salad. Not complicated. Manager was apologetic and comp'd the table. Server was upset since every table In her section had issues. We took care of Taylor knowing it wasn't her fault. Am I off Miller's. No. But if they repeat this nightmare I will have to really think twice about coming OTB. Also they got rid of the Field Goal Trio of wings, zingers and shrimp. So sad.

Village Tavern of Sebastian - Tavern Cuban - delicious

We live just down the road in Vero Beach, so discovering a neighborhood tavern with this much charm practically in our backyard was a real win. We had already eaten lunch at Nini's Cuban across the parking lot, so we stopped in just for a beer. Within minutes we were pulled straight into the atmosphere. Nancy, the bartender and proprietor, is the kind of host every small tavern dreams of. Warm, funny, and completely at ease, she makes newcomers feel like long‑time regulars while keeping the whole place running smoothly. The beer selection is far better than you would expect from a cozy local spot. There is a rotating craft lineup that rivals bigger bars, along with the classics and a surprisingly solid wine list. We spent half our visit sipping and the other half laughing at the hilarious signs covering the walls and at the antics of a couple of regulars who clearly keep the place lively. We have not tried the food yet, but the vibe alone guarantees we will be back and we will be coming hungry. This is the kind of place where you settle in, meet the locals, and let the afternoon drift. For the record, our beer of choice that day was "Cougar Bait." It is as much fun to drink as it is to say!

From the moment I slid onto a barstool, I knew I was in for something special -- and not just because the beer list reads like a love letter to hop heads and casual sippers alike. Each pint poured is thoughtful, crisp, and refreshing, with local craft brews rubbing shoulders beside tried‑and‑true favorites. I lost count somewhere around the third flight, but honestly? Worth it. And then there's Nancy, the bartender -- sweet lord, if every tavern had her warmth and precision, we'd all be happier people. She recommended beers without braggy pretension, anticipated refills like a mind reader, and managed a perfect balance of friendly conversation and professional grace. Her service alone is worth the trip. Great food, killer beers, and a bartender who makes you feel like a VIP? Village Tavern doesn't just raise the bar -- it is the bar.

So good with the crispy bacon, fresh perfectly cooked Ahi tuna and seasoned just right. I would order this again and again. The homemade key lime pie I was also told was good but the fresh chocolate chips were spot on. I just wished they would have come out a little warmer but that's my way of eating them not everyone's. I ordered the wings naked with the sauce on the side so I can taste the quality of the cook because sauces can mask and hide quality. The wings themselves were cooked very well--great texture and done right--but they came out completely unseasoned, so they relied entirely on the sauce for flavor. I wish they would season their wings when asked for sauce on the side. That kind of attention to detail would've made a big difference and easily earned them a higher score. The mild sauce had a perfect level of heat and that classic buttery profile you expect. Portion-wise, the price felt a bit on the higher side for what you get. On the flip side, my wife ordered the redfish sandwich, and after trying a bite, I can say it was absolutely delicious--definitely a highlight. Overall, it's a solid spot. The food quality is consistent, which keeps us coming back, even with a few small tweaks that could take it to the next level. I took a picture but I didn't save.
