After having a bad experience at the Boca store, we decided to try a different location to see a leather sectional. This store is impressive -- two full floors filled with a wide variety of styles for every room in your home. It is also their main headquarters and warehouse, so they carry a much larger selection than the typical City Furniture locations. Priya greeted us when we walked in and offered to show us around. She was knowledgeable, helpful, and never made us feel pressured. I found something I really liked, but I have to admit the thought of spending that kind of money on one of the store's higher-end pieces makes me a little nervous. I know that City Furniture is trying to elevate its brand image and improve the quality and selection of its furniture, but that type of transition doesn't happen overnight. In my opinion, the store still has more of a budget-friendly, mid-price feel while trying to introduce higher-end furniture lines. Overall, it was a much better experience than my previous visit, and Priya's customer service made a positive difference. City Furniture in Tamarac is massive. And I don't mean "wow, this is big." I mean 300,000 square feet of "I should've worn my Fitbit because this is cardio." Walking in, I'll be honest, I felt a little overwhelmed. Being greeted immediately and having my information taken felt more like checking into a doctor's office than shopping for a couch. Not the best start. But then we wandered. And wandered. And wandered some more. We were mostly focused on couches and living room furniture, which are scattered literally everywhere. Every corner is another fully staged living room. It's like walking through a sitcom multiverse where everyone has better furniture than you. Once we were allowed to browse freely, the staff was actually great. Helpful without hovering, available without stalking us through the store like we owed them money. Perfect balance. The selection is enormous, the prices are reasonable, and now our biggest problem is deciding which couch we love enough to commit to for the next ten years. No pressure. Also, let's talk about the fact that this place is so big they have a coffee bar with free cookies. Free. Cookies. And yes, they're delicious. I absolutely considered buying a sectional just to justify coming back for another one. If you're furniture shopping and you want options, this is your place. Unfortunately my review is in line with many of the other reviews for this company. Since this is a large chain operating as City Home and City Furniture I hope that others will read the reviews before purchasing from this company. We purchased two couches from this retailer and have had both structural issues (the couch breaking in a fairly short amount of time) and major customer service issues. After a lifetime of credit card and loan experience, and excellent personal credit, this is our first time experiencing a loan with deferred interest, which was veiled by the sales representative and their manager during the purchasing process. When we approached the company regarding this issue we were met with a script stating "this information was provided on the credit card statement post-purchase." After a bit of research to see why a large company would be so anti-customer service we found that City Furniture has joined a "retailer share arrangement" with Synchrony so they make a profit off of the high interest rates charged by the credit card as well as any late fees. This adds to their bottom line and of course structurally dissuades them from true customer service and retention. As a customer and business owner myself I cannot understand or recommend a company who is solely staring at their bottom line. Just received notification today that some of my items have discontinued. I was alerted to this via a text. I actually had to call and then come into the store to find out several pieces are discontinued. So they held $30,000 of my money but not the furniture I picked out and paid for. I want to share a full and honest review of my experience with City Furniture. Initially, I had an issue with my bed where the stabilizing legs came off. After reaching out to customer service, I was frustrated by the long hold times and the options I was given, which felt discouraging at the time. Because of that experience, I even left -- and later deleted -- a negative review. However, after City Furniture followed up, they sent a technician out to inspect the issue. It turned out the problem was due to an installation ERROR ON MY PART. The technician was professional, patient, and clearly explained what went wrong and how it should be installed properly. Once corrected, the bed was completely fixed by myself. What I truly appreciate is that a City Furniture social media representative also reached out to personally follow up and make sure everything was resolved and that I was satisfied. That level of follow-through made a big difference. While the process started off frustrating, City Furniture ultimately stood by their customer, addressed the issue, and ensured it was resolved. Extremely Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience I just purchased a sofa from City Furniture in Hollywood, and the experience that followed was beyond unacceptable. The saleswoman clearly told me the store was open until 9:00 PM. Before renting a U-Haul, I even called the Tamarac location to confirm -- no one picked up. I then checked Google, which also clearly states the store closes at 9:00 PM. Based on that information, I rented a U-Haul (which is not cheap), rearranged my schedule, and drove over. I arrived at 7:02 PM, well before closing, only to be met by a rude gentleman who claimed to be the manager. From the moment I spoke to him, his attitude was dismissive, cold, and completely unprofessional. He bluntly told me "there's nothing we can do", refused to listen, and showed zero empathy or accountability, despite the misinformation given by their own staff and their posted business hours. I explained that I rented a truck specifically for this pickup -- they did not care at all. No attempt to help. No apology. No solution. Just excuses and attitude. For a company selling expensive furniture, this level of customer service is shocking. Mistakes happen, but how you handle them matters -- and City Furniture handled this terribly. I was left stressed, out of pocket for a U-Haul rental, and completely disrespected as a paying customer. I will never shop here again, and I strongly warn others: do not rely on what their staff or Google hours say, and don't expect management to take responsibility when things go wrong. And the result of this grand internal investigation? They "generously" extended my expiring CITY Cash... by one whole week. A full seven days! What an unbelievable act of corporate generosity. I'm apparently expected to drop everything, sprint to a showroom, and buy something -- anything -- just to use a credit I never asked for in the first place, instead of the actual refund I was originally promised. So not only does the company replace real money with expiring store credit, but they somehow manage to make the process feel like a game show prize nobody wants. This entire experience shows a pattern: misleading promises, inconvenient "solutions," and a complete lack of respect for customers' time and money. We went to the Tamarac store, and while the salesperson was nice, we felt rushed into buying a coffee table and chandelier. The items were delivered on Wednesday, but we only had time to open the boxes today. As soon as we did, we realized both pieces were far too large for our living room. I called customer service right away, even sent photos to show how disproportionate everything looked. Their response? I could exchange the items but only if I paid a 15% restocking fee on a $1,600 purchase. They said it had been more than 24 hours since delivery, so that was their policy. To make things worse, the day after our purchase, both items went 15% off in a flash sale, and City Furniture refused to honor the new price. We've bought several pieces from City Furniture over the years, including our couch, and never had to return anything. But after this experience , the lack of flexibility, poor customer service, and unwillingness to work with loyal customers... they've lost us for good. Now I understand why the salesperson seemed in such a hurry to close the sale, I am sure he knew how strict and unfair the return policy is. Beware of their return policies and don't let anyone rush you into a purchase. Then we receive a reply saying you want to make things right but unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. All that happened was someone called me to repeat the same explanations and excuses I received before posting my review. I rented a truck to pickup the items myself verses waiting for delivery in a week. Once ai discovered the chest was broken I called customer care and spoke to Mary - the absolute worse. If I could give negative stars, I would do just that, City Furniture has lost my business as well as all of my families business and anyone I can tell about my horrible experience with them. My wife and I were in the market for a new couch and went to City Furniture where we were "sold" on a microfiber sectional recliner that we were told would be just as sturdy as leather, which is what we were shopping for. Just to be on the safe side, we purchased the additional 3 year in home service plan that covers accidental damage as well as defects from manufacturer. After 9 months we started to notice that a couple areas were starting to peel on the couch. We contacted the service plan we purchased and they sent a technician out to look at couch. He took pictures and stated that the couch could not be repaired but the piece would have to be replaced. After almost 3 weeks of not hearing anything from City Furniture regarding the replacement of our defect couch, I again contacted the service plan, where they asked me how the damage occurred. I told them I did not know how it happened that all we have done is sit on the couch. Well immediately they told me that they would not be covering our claim because the peeling was caused by wear and tear. We paid almost $4k for the couch with service plan that they are refusing to honor because they are stating wear and tear on the couch. How is it that after 9 months, that the couch is peeling?!?! One star is not even warranted. We placed a large order with City Furniture/Ashley during Labor Day weekend, and the bed was delivered without any hardware or instructions to assemble it. I'm now 9 months pregnant, due in 3 weeks, and still sleeping on a mattress on the floor. Customer service has been completely unhelpful. A rep claimed they would send the missing parts -- without even confirming what was actually missing -- and said it would take 2-4 weeks to arrive. This was called "expedited," yet it's the exact same time frame we were told when we originally placed the order. I was also promised a supervisor would call me within 48 hours, and that never happened. My follow-up was ignored. It's almost certain this issue won't be resolved before the baby arrives. Completely unacceptable and I absolutely would not recommend City Furniture to anyone. read more

I purchased a couch less than 3 years ago, plus the stain removal package. When it came time to fulfill the stain removal package, they refused. Instead, they offered me 25% off to purchase another poorly made product. The quality has significantly gone down. Their furniture does not last. BEWARE!!! I purchased 2 couches in March which weren't delivered until May. One of them was a sofa bed for my home office. The delivery guys damaged my wall by scraping the wall with the couch and broke an outside lamp while delivering the couch. I was offered a refund of the delivery fee which I don't think adequately covers the damages. However nevertheless I accepted the refund. It is now September and I still have yet to receive the refund. I have contacted their office and the agent "Paula Leonora M" - Claims Damage Manager. Initially she was responsive, but she has not replied to any emails or calls since August 3, 2024. I called and attempted to escalate once again and still NOTHING and no replies from Leonora and check has not been received. TERRIBLE SERVICE and Customer Service as well. read more

Will never again purchase from City Furniture. Purchased TempurPedic mattresses and foundations and a king frame. It took many phone calls for them to take the old bedding and they even said they cannot fit it in the truck. It took days. We called since we were not pleased with the king frame in under 30 days. They blew us off and keep telling you they are escalating the issue, which they do not do. Customer Service is the worst of its kind....there is no customer service and they put you on hold for long periods. Buy the furniture and then...they do not want to know you. Our Salesman was nice...the rest of this place is awful. I had to replace the frame at my cost at another bedding store...not worth the BS over a $130.00 bed frame. This place is a total scam, On Monday the 23, I ordered a 3 piece couch and chair that reclines and is leather that has audio speakers and massagers and charging ports totaling a little over $5,000. The salesman sold me on the warranty and the premium delivery. The delivery team installed it and left screws on the floor, the audio wasnt working when they installed it, they tried raming a cable into the motherbaord and using tape, when i called customer service, they told me some one would call me back and never did I called several times without luck... 2 days later after calling to speak to some one i finally got ahold of a manager who basically just told me they would send a tech out and that my premium delivery couldnt be refunded, Ill never do business with these guys again... please check pics this is how my back of my couch looks. I assume the delivery guys broke the sound bar cable by trying to ram it in, Ive never seen anything like this, leaving screws and a cable with tape on a brand new couch. These guys were at my place for about 6 mins, they asked me to confrim everything was good to go, I asked them for a manual and they went to their truck and left without giving one, it was clear they broke something and wanted to get out of there so they didnt have to deal with it. read more

This is for online crazy experience. This review is for two hybrid online/IRL experiences about a month apart. Zero stars for my first order.....i found a sofa in the City furniture website. It said it was the last one of this model, so i called an online sales rep to make sure it was actually in stock, everyone involved assured that it was there. I ordered the sofa. The day of the delivery, after it was confirmed the sofa was on its way, someone called me and said they couldn't find it. Zero stars for the customer service, the sales person did not wish take responsibility, as badly as I needed a sofa, i mentally gave up on City. Three point five stars for the next order - about a month later I went on the Ashley furniture website, found a sofa, called the Ashley and was routed to City who owns Ashley or something and handles their online sales....short story, the rep talked me into a City sofa-something about an Ashley Furniture 4-6 week wait-the City sofa I selected form the reps list was delivered and had flat as a pancake cushioning. I didn't want to give up again, so i physically went into a City store, sat in 10 sofas and picked one costing $500+ more and now I have a decent sofa. The fact that this sales person followed up and made sure the sofa swap went smoothly and was patient and non condescending and the fact the delivery team was extremely awesome, made this the experience I wish I had in the first place.
