While the blinds are very beautiful, and Suman the owner is a polite, welll mannered man, I did…read morehave a big problem with the installer's rudeness, who by the way, was a very good installer...... when we ordered the blinds, Suman asked if I could do the down payment with a check, I did write him a check, but told him the final pay would be using my CC, when the installer finished, I handed him my CC, he said he needed a check, I told him I had told Suman that final payment would be a CC, he then said he had no way to run it so I asked him to call Suman, he was already loosing his cool and told me it was very difficult to get a hold of Suman on the weekends, I stood my ground and he dialed, Suman answered and guy talked to him then handed me the phone, Suman wanted to charge me 5% of the balance for taking my CC, I absolutely refused, and reminded him that he never said anything about an extra charge for CC use when I told him I would use one for the final payment, he graciously agreed to not charged it, and asked to talk to the installer, installer then took my card to write the numbers manually and went off on a rant, telling me that he charges 5% to any one that buys a service from him, he just kept going on an endless rant about it, while angrily writing my card's numbers, he acted so rudely over not getting a check, that even though I had $40. Dollars in my pocket to tip him for the job well done, I chose to not tip him at all, Suman did only charged me the balance and did thank me for my business
Just an FYI, in California, they can charge you a % to use a CC, however, it has to be part of the original estimate, it is illegal to add it after, know your rights!
