I suppose that is what makes a marriage- choosing each other again and again, and most of the time this choosing is implicit, but there are other times when it becomes a very conscious thought: yes, I choose you. We continue to negotiate the differences and misunderstandings, and sometimes hurt feelings...and i can't say those negotiations are easy, but they sure are less fraught. I guess we simply trust more and tell each other more often what's going on inside ourselves. I think we both feel the other person's love on a more regular basis? Not sure how to put it exactly. But I know we wouldn't be in the good place we are without having worked with Paula. My intention in working with Karallyn was to find someone in Asheville who could take my spiritual journey to the next level, so to speak -- and to help me identify the path of highest and best use for my spiritual growth. I remember my three months in the summer of 2023, at CooperRiis at Asheville, / CRA, quite fondly…read more  I was stabilized for a couple of years after that.  My only regret was not being able to stay in the program longer.  I really credit the staff for their major role in stabilizing me, helping me adjust, and keeping me safe during those three months.  The staff saw me at my worst and at my best.  Somehow, they were able to help me reach a stable ground of somewhere in-between, of just being "fine".  I really credit the special relationships I forged with the staff during that time period.  The staff kept me safe in times of manic periods, and kept me safe overall.  The staff got me thinking about Recovery and got me thinking about being well at home.  I was able to receive extra counseling while I was there on Sundays, and sometimes during the week, which was so desperately needed.  I really credit Residential Evening for keeping me steady during my downtime.  The individual counseling sessions with my Team were also really helpful, as well as was Family Therapy.  The groups during the day were beneficial, too, and really added longer-term therapy and coping mechanisms to my stay. I would recommend that you stay at CooperRiis for as long as possible and go through Levels A, B, and C if you can.  This is the single, best, most important financial decision you will make for your mental health.   CooperRiis takes a holistic approach, which was new and different for me.  But I benefitted greatly from this approach.  The delicious  (and new to me) Mediterranean Diet did wonders for my body for three months and taught me a lot about nutrition for mental health.  Upon my return home, I was able to receive extra monthly support from the CooperRiis family education program, on a variety of interesting topics.  I also am able to keep in touch with the alumni contact person every so often.  I'll continue to keep in touch with CooperRiis.  It was the best financial decision I ever made for myself.  The staff are great, wonderful, patient people who are highly-qualified to do this job.  The staff at CooperRiis at Asheville really helps you with the road of recovery and a long-term period of stabilization.  I really miss all of the staff who were there during the Summer of 2023.  I think of you all, and Asheville, often, and remember what I have learned there.  Thank you for helping me during that time period of my life.   I highly recommend CooperRiis at Asheville.

I booked my service online for a 90 minute float - which is the recommended length for a first float. I checked in at Still Point Wellness about 20 minutes before my appointment. They had me remove my sandals immediately to leave under a bench near the reception desk. They provided new footwear so I didn't have to walk around barefoot. I waited in their waiting area until it was time for my treatment. About 7 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, the receptionist ended up leading me to my float therapy room. She explained the process and then left me to it. I was nervous at first just thinking about being alone with my thoughts in a dark, small room, but it honestly was easy to get used to and a nice break from the real world. My only complaint is I don't think the water was warm enough. They said the temperature would be around 95 degrees and it is supposed to mirror the human body temperature. However, I found the water to be very lukewarm in the center of the float tank. For some reason whenever I was near the wall of the float tank, it was the ideal warm temperature for me. When the 90 minutes were up, soft music started playing and a blue light turned on in the float tank. They have a private shower in the float tank room so make sure you wash all the salt off you. Overall, I would definitely do float therapy again and hope it was just a one off with the temperature.

What a beautiful calm comforting interior. I was happy to see the lovely fish tank made the move. This visit is covered by a gift card which I decided to use for an Esalen massage with Sanne. What a delightful, kind, and in-tune massage therapist she is. She lives up to her bio: "a practice of non judgemental awareness of our body, our breath, our mind." Her lovely energy combined with an intuitive touch led to a delightful and therapeutic massage. A hour is sufficient but my next massage will certainly be longer. I purposely have not described the experience from walking in the front door and moving to the massage room. Enjoy it, feel it, and be aware of the deep relaxation that will set in.
