I had insomnia for over two years. In those two years, I mostly believed the lack of sleep was…read moreanxiety related, but then other symptoms started to appear too -night sweats, a burning in my neck, etc. I thought once I worked on the anxiety, the symptoms would disappear and my sleep would improve, but despite so much attention to my mental health, nothing seemed to change. I woke up between 4 and 4:30 for months and became very familiar with just laying in the dark waiting for the day to start. If you have insomnia, you feel like a zombie. Everything good in life has a bit of a gray cloud over it when you can't sleep. Jobs, relationships, friendships, everything feels like too much energy when you can't sleep and yet somehow you have to show up for them (or at the minimum your job). I did a full work up, all the way to a CT scan of almost my whole body with my doctor at Kaiser, mostly for the sweating. They couldn't find anything wrong with me. Homeopathic doctors, Chinese herbs, hypnosis, it felt like nothing worked. Treatments are well thought out and individually designed to address the specific needs of each client. Two specific examples: 1. A few years ago, I was treated for a torn achilles. Although I was sidelined for a couple of months, the on-site physical therapy and in-home program allowed me to return to my previous level of activity in less than a month. 2. Currently, I'm receiving treatment for a total hip replacement. The post-op treatment was well thought out and resulted in a lot of progress in the first 2 weeks.
