DO NOT MOVE HERE! Read all the reviews on Google. This place is a joke! I've lived in apartments in the Bronx & Brooklyn, NY better maintained than this place! We moved here 2 years ago and let me tell you, that was the beginning of a nightmare! The day we moved in, it definitely was not clean nor move in ready for us. During the 2 years, we've had.... -Insect infestations -Mold in the apartment -Appliances constantly breaking down -Dirty Common Areas such as the hallways & stairs -Ammenites such as the pool & bowling alley constantly out of service -An insane rent increase of $500/month! -Constant maintenance requests in the apartment An apartment complex less than 10 years old shouldn't have this many issues. Oh and the kicker is when we moved out, we were expecting a partial refund on our deposit...only to be sent a bill of over $100 Next, they put on the online portal that we owe over $300. We ended up clearing off that balance just to be done with this place. In which we clearly overpaid. We reached out multiple times via phone, email, text, the portal to verify that they received payment, but never received a response. Instead they locked us out from logging into the portal. Then they have the audacity to have bill collection agency call us to collect the debt that we actually overpaid for! Shame on you! read more

I don't recommend it, I've been staying at Citra at Windermere for two weeks and the arrival was terrible, a lot of dirt and cockroaches in the whole apartment! Kitchen appliances all needing to be changed, all are defective or impossible to use! It's no use complaining, they just say they're going to ask for repairs and nothing happens! I'm feeling sick to my children and I from so much product that was necessary to try to clean and kill the insects in the place !! the outside area is dirty and doesn't work, the pools and barbecue are closed with dirt and not cleaned !! read more

Our air has gone out four times within living here for over a year. Every time we ask them to fix it they look at us like it is user error when this complex is old with no renovation to their equipment. Our drier and microwave have also had issues along with the endless calls to pest control that we pay for as there are ant infestations constantly. They are the least helpful with completing the maintenance requests unless you call them and speak to someone to then which they will pass you off to maintenance who do not do anything to fix the matter. We have a ring on our door to see who come and go and they have repeatedly marked the request as complete with no one showing up to our apartment. This complex has a decent location but would not recommend moving here. read more

I was a resident at Citra for 5 years since they first opened and the only reason I didn't move out sooner because moving is such a pain plus I liked the location. Over my time as a resident the management changed so often that it seemed like the moment one manager was getting settled in they would then leave . I have a laundry list of issues that were inexcusable and poorly handled. Some of my top issues... Front office staff: They never answer the phone ! Ever since I moved in this was an issue. I can recite the automated message for you while waiting for someone to pick up because they would never answer. Not to mention most of the front office staff was extremely rude and forgetful. Anytime I had an issue or concern it would usually take 2 tries to get something taken care of . Pest control. We pay for pest control and as residents told to call the office to be put on this list. Whenever I would do this process pest control would never come and "forget" my apartment. There was one time where I had been put on the list 3 weeks in a row and they somehow managed to skip me each time . Faulty construction: My shower curtain rod fell on my head due to the weak construction of the rod itself . If I did not have good reflexes I could have suffered serious damage . While maintenance fixed this after it fell, it was still something that should not have happened. In addition, although the cabinetry looks nice, it is cheaply made and was already showing signs of wear from my first year. The walls in Citra are super thin I lived on the 2nd floor and could hear the people above me whether walking around, when they returned home, sometimes even conversations . Security: There is none. Citra never installed any type of security camera system on property even after some of the serious incidents we had on property . Although they did have a designated security officer who lived on property it seemed that it was of no help. Pool : the pool would be closed quite frequently (sometimes even months at a time). If I'm paying for amenities they should be functioning. So much pool maintenance! Perhaps they should have invested more into the pool then in a one lane bowling alley with limited hours? I seriously could go on and on with valet trash service issues, maintenance, more about the poor management communication but I'll stop here. I thought I would be rid of Citra issues once I moved out, however once I did move out I was somehow charged for an extra day of living there even though I turned my keys in on move out date. It took several weeks to get this refunded so my Citra saga continued a bit longer . I would not recommend living here at all. The location is the best part about Citra but I would not consider it to be "luxury living." Its not worth all the issues. I would say my first year there was the best because the place was new and the management was attentive. Do not recommend Citra at windermere. Lived here for two years. Nothing but issues. Worst property manager you can imagine. I have nothing but complaints. They even have black mold in some of the units, and try to make the tenants responsible for that, when their entire HVAC system needs to be replaced. Multiple car break ins in a short period of time. I even lowered my comprehensive deductible while living here, because I was worried about glass damage and parking my vehicle here. There are never enough parking spots, so when you come home from work at night, be prepared for a long walk from your parking space to your unit, where you do not see your car at all, if something should happen. Maintenance issues left and right, trash overflowing onto the street. I emailed JRK and the citra office in regards to this several times, with no response. Living in Florida during the summer can be brutal, but living here without a working A/c is even worse. They will take forever to respond to any requests. When I sent the notice that I will terminate my lease, I received a call from tenant relations, asking me if I want to talk to them about the reasons for my move out. I said I would love to share, was transferred to someone in charge at their office and was instructed to leave a voicemail, which I did, never heard back from them again. This company is a joke. There are two reasons why I am giving a 1-star review: 1 - Very Poor Customer Service - the minute you sign the contract, you become a liability and no longer a customer. Also, the leasing office never answers the phone and never returns voice messages. Finally, employee called Angelica is rude. Today, for example, I complained because I was incorrectly charged an additional amount and this individual responded very arrogantly. 2 - Lack of Cleanliness - Common areas such as the restrooms in the pool area are always dirty and lacking the necessary supplies. Do not move here! I moved in and my apartment wasn't even clean or ready for move in. There are bugs and when you call and let them know nothing happens. The community is dirty (look at the pool furniture if you don't believe me). Want to grill? Think again the weekends the pool and grill area is crowded. Want to use the business center? Don't think about it, they don't have it open past business hours and when you try to even use your own laptop there is no password listed anywhere. Do yourself a favor and don't move here. A/C is constantly broken (at least 3-4 times a month); we've had many bug infestations - specifically ants and we're on the third floor. Amenities are disgusting, the hot tub always has flakes floating in it and never works and the pool is freezing 24/7. The grills are coated with burnt grease and aren't even useable. The outside area is disgusting and you can tell it hasn't been cleaned in years. I had an issue recently and called the front, management was absolutely unprofessional and refused to try to help me in the situation that could have easily been resolved. The girl on the phone also had an attitude with me and was talking to me like I couldn't comprehend what she was saying. They will charge you an arm an a leg for a days late rent, but can't get pest control or any other maintenance request done until days or weeks later. Do not rent here!! We have had so many issues since day one of moving in. For you pay in rent you would expect the place to be nicer and better taken care of, but it is not. There are better and less expensive options in the area so keep looking. Avoid Citra at all costs. We rented a garage for storage of our stuff as we were only staying at Citra for a short term lease (we planned on buying soon enough). They assigned us a garage and we parked our car outside of it. The very next day we go out to find a guy standing there who said it was his garage and he couldn't get his car out because we were parked there. So they assigned us another garage. Several months later, before moved out they did an inventory of garages, we told them our number and they said "No you should have garage #___" which was the original one already assigned. Our key fobs for the pool/gym didn't work originally and we had to chase down someone in the office to get them working. Also, they gave us mail keys that didnt work. We found out eventually that the Post Office rekeys all of the boxes after someone moves out. You have to actually go to the Post Office in Windermere to request the keys to your box, which took us over a week to get. Which no one in the front office bothered to tell us upon move in. There are tons of kids left unattended all over the complex. They trash the pool area, the gym and all of the other amenities. They ride their bikes through the hallways and leave their bikes parked all over so you're constantly tripping over them or having to move them out of the way. And they leave trash all over the stairs, halls and grounds as well, that never seem to get picked up. The children in the complex run around at all hours of the night until 10 or 11, totally unsupervised, making all kinds of noise. Even swimming in the pool even after it supposed to be closed. We've constantly seen trash all over the halls, stairways, the grounds, the pool area and even floating all over the pond area in the center of the complex. Maintenance doesn't pick up the trash and the lawn service just mows over it. The dog waste bins are hardly ever changed and they are always overflowing with dog waste. All over the ground. And most of the bins are always out of the dog waste pickup bags. Went to the pool about twice and each time there was green algae growing all over the sides of the pool and stuff floating in the water. It was so gross that we stopped going to the pool, because who wants to swim in a dirty pool? Our AC broke and we called maintenance. It took them two days to respond. Then they told us they needed to order a part but that they would bring us portable floor ac units. They never came back with the portable units. Being that it was the middle of a Florida summer and about 90+ degrees I kept calling about our air and never got a response. Finally a few days later they came and fixed it, taking all of 10 minutes. Why let us sweat out for days when it was a simple fix? The staff in the leasing office are incompetent, rude and never respond to calls. Especially the manager Kelly. When we had several issues over the seven months we lived there I would call everyday sometimes multiple times a day and would NEVER get a call back. The only way to get a response from the office is to just go down there and stand around and wait for someone to help you. And lastly on move out, we were told we would receive a letter with our final bill for rent and utilities which we NEVER did. However, we did receive a call from a collections company ONE MONTH after moving out. They will tell you they sent a letter when they don't actually send it. They automatically send you to collections instead. This happened to me and two others I know who lived and moved out of Citra. Also, check the reviewer below me who said the same thing. When I spoke to a very rude woman at the company who owns Citra she told me they send your information to collections as soon as they supposedly send you the notice of money owed. We never received a notice and when I asked for some sort of proof of the letter being sent, she didnt have anything to show. Who sends someone to collections, after less then a month of moving out? We didnt know what we owed because we were never sent a bill, letter or notification. I've lived in apartments all over FL, MA, DC and VA and this is the worst apartment complex and living experience I've ever had. read more

My roommate and I have lived at Citra since last June (2014). The office staff has never been polite or impressive to us, but we opted to move here anyways because we like this area, and at the time Citra was our cheapest option- the promotion at that time enticed us to move here, but we couldn't have made a bigger mistake. Last June through the beginning of this year this property was managed by another company than who currently manages it. Only one of the "original" staff members transferred over to the new company, so one would think that any and all issues preexisting from the previous company would still be known and therefore taken care of. This has definitely not been the case with this property management team. The current manager likes to direct the blame to other places when in all actuality it belongs to her. She is the most unhelpful human being I have ever encountered. I'm usually at a loss for words when I'm speaking with her either by email or in person because her work performance is so incredibly subpar. The Property Manager and Assistant Property Manager (the one employee who transferred to the new company) could not be any worse. They totally dismiss any challenges my roommate and I have with this property by never responding to our emails or phone calls (their corporate office is the exact same way). I have only personally spoken with the Manager twice, and both times were horrendous. She is under the impression that we have always had bad experiences with previous property management companies and therefore our complaints are without merit. First of all, that is untrue- this is my very first online review, and second of all our complaints have been VERY simple! My roommate and I speak up when residents are negating the "No Smoking" policy (and by that I mean when their smoke is becoming an inconvenience to us while being at our apartment- like people smoking under our balcony. We never complain when people are walking around the parking lot or around the pool). The new property management company should be taking some ownership over this simple problem because they have a sign advertising this property as No Smoking upon driving in! The fact that they don't even try and put a stop to the smoking shows that they don't care for this property or its residents. They are also aware of the fact that this property is indeed No Smoking, so that is false advertisement on their part. The manager actually told us the other day "ummm, yeah like I can control all the smokers." ...we're so lucky to have her around. Other issues we have spoken up about involves the cleanliness of the property. Cigarettes lay all over the grounds, litter is everywhere due to the laziness of the trash valet service (they drop trash on the ground and then drive away without collecting it), the hallways and ceilings of the buildings are always disgusting (again, usually to blame is the trash valet service for dripping trash everywhere, but the mass number of bugs that collect in the lights and the condition of the stained stairs and floor is unacceptable) so we ask that they clean up the place, and on occasion we have voiced our opinions on the lack of parking. There are/were a couple of apartments in my building alone who have entirely too many people living in them and therefore the parking becomes almost impossible to get anywhere near the building. For example, the apartment under our's (who just moved out recently) had 6 cars parked here for a 2-bedroom apartment! Most of their cars were never moved, so day after day they occupied all the close spots. The office here agrees parking is an issue, but their excuse was they bought this property that way so there's nothing they can do. Okay, that's fine, but multiple apartments having THAT many vehicles is unfair to everyone else. Most complexes, especially in this area, are very strict on the number of vehicles a single apartment is allowed to have. The only other issue we have complained about is the fact that the hot tub rarely works. It's usually just bubbling cold water because the heater is always broken. Usually it takes the office at least a week to get back to us anyways, so we've given up on that argument- we've only used the hot tub a couple times, and it's always been broken. Most recently, the property manager disposed of our "month to month" rent offer and agreement (which was to be $1519/month) and changed it to $1970/month, and she is totally lying about changing it. She knows we know she is lying- you can tell it in her face when we accuse her of modifying our file, but she just laughs at us. I know of many past-residents who have moved from this property for very similar reasons, so Citra's reputation is definitely true. This place has been my worst renting experience to date, and I would never recommend this property to anyone! read more

This place is a NIGHTMARE and the management is completely unprofessional. My roommate and I were approved 'under conditions' to live here (which I never heard of anywhere). We were given the choice to enroll in the NPS program, which guarantees they receive payment every month for rent, OR they would add an additional $100 to our rent payments. We decided to enroll in NPS, and this means our paychecks would be deposited into the NPS bank account and they would process our rent for us. This sounds easy and stress free, however the property manager Gary Davis has filed for eviction TWICE due to minor discrepancies. The first time, my roommate was not enrolled for one month. He had a meeting with Gary Davis and they were able to waive late fees and process a check instead of paying rent through NPS. This issue was taken care of. In December, I received a letter from the VA stating I was receiving an increase on my disability check, but because my entire check goes in the NPS account, I never have access to the excess funds that aren't being used for portion of the rent. In order to get that money back, I have to request a refund and write a brief reason as to why I need the refund and it takes almost a week to process. I briefly unenrolled from NPS, in order to use the excess funds immediately to pay my utility bill. I also turned in a cashier's check for the rent and then tried to change my direct deposit back to the NPS account. However, this was unsuccessful. I had to wait 30 days before trying again and was able to re enroll in February. By this time, the property filed for eviction again and stated my roommate and I haven't paid our rent. There were $700 worth of late fees on our account and the assistant manager Gabrielle Ruiz said there was a flat rate of $225 and an additional $10 a day for late rent. Our lease never stated $10 a day and she was able to have $250 removed off our account. I still didn't understand why I was required to pay $450 of late charges when I paid on time and they processed my rent checks. Gabrielle stated that she didn't know because she's not familiar with the NPS process. When we looked at our transaction ledger, we were able to see all of our payments being made and how we were up to date with our rent. Their system showed that because I paid with checks and not with NPS, I was being charged late fees. She said she would speak with Gary about removing the charges since I was paying rent on time. She said the eviction was closed, but because I wasn't enrolled in NPS on the 1st of Feb, we received another late charge of $225 and $100 non compliance fee. None of this is written in our lease and I cannot find a policy on this matter anywhere. Whenever we ask to speak with the property manager, he is never available. He doesn't respond to emails, he is also off property, out of the office or in an all day meeting. Gary finally calls me today, but before I can say anything, he has an attitude and he is yelling at me about how I am the one in violation of the rules and he spoke with the Vice President of JRK Property Holdings and they were not going to remove the two $225 late fees. I asked for the policy because this isn't in my lease and nowhere in the emails upon enrolling into NPS. He told me it didn't need to be on my lease, because I agreed to enroll in NPS when I moved in, therefore I was in violation and I needed to pay. I asked him multiple times to stop yelling at me and speaking over me. I tried to explain to him the reason why I unenrolled from NPS, and he said he didn't care, I broke the rules. When I asked him to see these rules, he said I didn't have to. He yelled at me for 8 minutes, said he was tired of dealing with us and that I was in an eviction (after Gabrielle told me it was closed) and if I didn't pay, we had to move out and that's how it works. All I wanted was to see PROOF that what he was saying about the late charges and the non compliance fees was true, and this is the treatment he gives to the residents. I am mortified that a man like this oversees FIVE properties! He lack professionalism, empathy and respect for the residents living here. The reviews you see on here are true! If I could give less Stars I would. This place is horrible. Management does not care about the residents only care if the rent is paid. My fiancé and I moved in because of location and the old property staff which was amazing. When COVID-19 hit everything went down hill. The only good going for them is maintenance. The apartment has issues with ongoing infestation of bugs mine was included and kept being told they can't do anything. Pest control came every week and I started getting sick. I had to use my neighbors washer machine cause of a water bug issue and the bugs showing up in my washer. Management was quick to send a letter during the pandemic stating since we will be getting a stimulus check make sure you pay your rent. They even kept the poor leasing agent give tours of the community while quarantine was still going on. Good luck with trying to get responses from emails or phone calls. Make sure you have amazing credit and strong income and be careful they don't tell you about the other fees that are added to the rent and spending over $100 in fees plus the base rent. DO NOT MOVE INTO THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX. Please do yourself a favor and don't trust these people. We had countless issues with the leasing office and those around us that I wouldn't wish for anyone to deal with. I can provide a few examples but there were many more things that happened as well. 1) I had 2 separate occasions where a maintenance worker came into my apartment while I was sleeping without me knowing. There was no previous notification saying they would enter and no maintenance request was placed by us at this time. I have video proof on my ring doorbell. When I talked the leasing office, they laughed in my face and denied it happened even with the proof. 2) We had one of our cars broken into and found out via our video camera when we spoke with the cops. We asked the leasing office to help us, and again they said there was nothing they could do to help us feel safer in THEIR community. 3) We had our air conditioning broken for over 2 weeks in July. It took over 3 days to have our emergency maintenance request completed, and the job was never done correctly. As soon as they left, the AC would break again. We had to place 4 different maintenance requests until they finally fixed it. Gary Davis (the landlord) does not care about your well-being and is only a nice person to you until you sign the lease. Once you sign the lease, they no longer care about you and you are only a number to them now to fill their vacancies. read more

They locked residents out of the office and you have to make an appointment to come in but they don't answer the phone or return messages. Charged me for so many "damages" when I moved out that I ended up almost paying an extra month. There were some things but not $1100 worth. My job for the last year involved a lot of traveling mostly to Florida. I decided to pull the trigger and stay at Citra at windermere. The apartments are great. It's a well laid out property and the new management is 100% better than old management. I traveled from west coast to Florida frequently and had absolutely no issues. Talk about a DUMP. If I could rate this negative stars I would. I think it should say something about the property that residents are ELATED when the time comes to give notice of their moving out of these apartments. I unfortunately am still residing here until my lease is up in October.. and let me just say... this property is a joke. I have lived here with my boyfriend since October 2016 and am currently on property manager number 4. After being here for 3 weeks we received our first electric bill from DUKE with a staggering amount owed. After a quick call to duke we learned that because of moving to a new apt we had a new deposit billed in with the actual amount owed and that would only be reflected through this first bill. In the time that we have lived here my boyfriend and I have spent an upward of $3,500.00 to the electric company. We had asked day after day, week after week, month after month to PLEASE send someone to come and look at our unit, there was CLEARLY a problem. The solution was always the same, " call duke, that is there responsibility" " we'll send someone over" "there is nothing wrong" At its highest we paid 590.00 to duke and when again brought to the attention of the newest manager she decided to call an actual outside technician to take a look. The technician came and within I kid you not, 5 minutes of being in our apartment and examining the unit, concluded what the problem was. The problem that took this technician 5 minutes to solve and about 3 hours to correct was DRAGGED out for 9 months. Citra and its management company have flat out refused to admit any wrong doing and refuses to give my boyfriend and I any kind of compensation or credit other than a measly one time credit of $500.00! Laughable. The staff in the front office is rude, unknowledgeable, unreliable and unprofessional. I thought that when Kelley took over (our new property manager) that things would be better. Sadly, while she seems to be a bit more competent than the last 3, her and sad staff are just not what residents should expect with the rent that they pay. I remember moving in and hearing that there prices were so high because Post Lakeside is their stiffest competition. WHAT.A. JOKE. While post is a bit older in their interiors they have FAR less negative feedback. With new apartments popping up all over like Zen and Venetian, Citra is in for a rude awakening of watching what I think will be most of their residents jumping ship. I am not a cast member, and while I realize the appeal of being so close to disney is tempting, honestly think it over moving in hear. It will be the longest, most expensive, inadequate lease you'll ever have the opportunity to be a part of. Incredibly disgusted with management at this property. I lived here when the first management company had ownership and it was great until it was changed over to JRK Properties. The office staff manager is rude and not helpful. We had requested help with maintenance issues and have been patient but it takes nearly a week or two until things get done. We are still waiting today 06/20/2015 for our A/C to be repaired after I called and they said it was fixed but when I got he it wasn't. It's so unfortunate because the units are beautiful and collect too. I believe if you pay top dollar a customer should expect best service. Property manager Stacy should recognized and sympathize with our dilemma and try to make it right but not act like as if we are the ones being a nuisance. It has been approximately ~35 days since I have moved out of Citra. Today, by the upmost surprise to me I received a call from a collections agency, for the $250 I owe in damages .... on top of the $300 I put down as a deposit. I have received ZERO contact from them since moving out - no letter, no phone call, no email, NOTHING. I was expecting to receive money BACK from them! There was NOTHING wrong with my apartment!!! I'm now waiting on a call back from management (I won't hold my breath). It seems to me they have some kind of scam going so I'm absolutely not paying anything until I see an invoice. The property manager reached out to me quickly to help address the problems I was facing. I appreciated the follow-up communication and she had the new maintenance team at my apartment to fix the issue as soon as possible. My laundry machine is now working and Citra followed up with me to make sure it was hitting my satisfaction. I was also able to communicate with JRK regarding the renters insurance issue which has also now been resolved. Current resident. I am going to make it my life's work to absolutely ruin this place and tell everyone the truth of how awful it is. The ENTIRE community is absolutely disgusting, trash is littered everywhere and all over the pool and other common areas. And I'm not talking about little pieces of trash, I'm talking full trash cans packed to the brim, a full case of cookies strung out all over the pool, a loaf of bread in a chair?? cans and wine bottles and cigarettes absolutely everywhere. These people that live here are absolutely disgusting degenerates, and management does nothing about it. They employ idiots who have no experience in management, our AC was out for 3 days during the middle of summer and when they came to fix it they didn't even fix it! The guy told me how to fix it!! Wtf? Everything in this house is either dirty or broken, from the stove not being able to turn down when cooking to grease and oil spills in every cabinet. It's absolutely disgusting, we pay 1,700 a month not including power or water to literally get fucked in the ass. It's deplorable, these people are disgusting and management is a bunch of idiots. This is the WORST apartment complex I've lived in EVER. I've had my car window busted and belongings stolen, along with 20 other cars. My apartment has been infested with roaches since move-in after they failed to properly send pest control out to the apartment above me after evicting the previous tenants who's apartment was infested (per the pest control company. "The roaches were falling off the door entrance when they walked in") and led to surrounding apartments to be infested. The hallways are ALWAYS dirty. There is NEVER any parking by your building and they choose to randomly give parking tickets. The management is HORRIBLE. Gary Davis, the supposed regional manager, told me "common sense" would tell me not to park near a curb although it's the same place I've parked all year and then hung up on me when I asked for his manager. I had to call the office 5 times to get someone else to answer the phone. They change sales associates weekly so if one promises change, expect them to be gone by the next week. The only person who cares at all is Luis and he can't run this awful complex on his own, sadly. I paid my rent every month on the 3rd because that's when it is scheduled to come out of my account automatically and last month, I was charged a $250 fee for not paying it before the 2nd although I've never paid it before the 3rd previously. They waved the few and told me to make sure from now on it's paid by the 2nd. They clearly just make up rules as they go. The model apartment is nothing like the apartment you move in to. They don't clean the apartments prior. I had multiple lights broken at move in and shelves missing in my closet. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. It is AWFUL and led with HORRIBLE management. read more

Lived here from Jan. 2015 to Feb. 2016, at the time that we moved in it was by far the best place in the Orlando area we had found after months of looking. Great reviews, great management, and from the very beginning they knew us by name and always made sure that any of our concerns were taken care of that very day if not instantly. Sometime during our residency, there was a major change in ownership and management. The new owners are shitbags that shouldn't be trusted to tie their own shoes, let alone run a property rental agency. Lawn maintenance went to hell, it took weeks to get replies on simple service requests, and no one ever answers the phone for any reason at all any more. Hell, you can't even get anyone to call you back. I should know, I left no less than ten messages over the past month after calling at least twenty times and have never received a reply. I have sent half a dozen emails and... nothing. Not a damn word. Why, you may ask, was I so adamant to make contact with a place I had moved away from? Well, after putting the apartment back into better shape than I had found it, not only scrubbing it from floor to ceiling but also doing touch-up paint and sanitizing the appliances and returning them to as good as new condition, I turned in my keys inside an envelope which contained my forwarding address and contact information in case there were any issues.... three weeks before my official move out date. This would have given me plenty of time to address any issues they may have had and I confirmed with them that they would in fact contact me if there were any problems. I was never contacted. I also never received my deposit back, and before my lease was even officially up I received a collections notice! Seriously, before my lease expired they sent me to collections despite never sending me my deposit. They owed me $1000 and the collection bill? $89! WTF, Citra?! I can't get anyone there to return my calls, answer my emails, or anything at all. How is it that they can steal my money and then put out their hand and demand more?! I have received no information on exactly what the $89 is for. I never even received a bill from Citra, it just went straight to collections. F$%& this place and the people who run it. read more

10 reasons for not to live in Citra Circle 1- The pool is never opened. Since I moved in on February, It worked no more than 1 month 2- Dirty everywhere. They do not clean the common area 3- A bowling court been constructed since I got here. Noise, trucks, dirty. It never ends. 4- Gym closed for 3 month 5- Smoke free? You can feel the cigarette smelt everywhere 6- If you need something, call the management, they will not help you. 7- If the management not help you, call JRK, they will not even answer to your calls 8- Toooooo expensive for the kind of service they provide 9- Call maintenance for an urgent problem, they will take 3 days to come. This complex continues to get worse under new management that took over at the beginning of 2015. Cigarette butts continue to show up throughout the common areas. The walls are so hollow that regular conversations from your neighbor can be heard when laying in bed. The grounds aren't maintained. Very little is done outside of cutting the grass. In the past year of new management, weeds have shown up everywhere and the community hasn't seen mulch/pine straw in that time. This place started out like a five star resort and has turned into a place that can be found for hundreds of dollars less in the area. The "management" team can't seem to even get routine things accomplished without going through an incompetent regional manager. Citra's response to a previous review, in regards to requesting the regional manager's phone number, "My staff and I regularly and openly give out this number," shows that numerous residents are upset. Citra at Windermere, AKA JRK Property Holdings lacks in business ethics, morals and customer service. This is a company that does not take responsibility for their own wrong doing. I vacated my apartment at Citra after giving proper written notice, following all the terms of my lease by having the apartment and carpets professionally cleaned and turning in the paid invoices for the professional services. I dotted my I's and crossed my T's... After vacating my apartment on 7/20/20 I awaited the return of my security deposit. On 8/10/2020 My son who had helped me by signing on the lease contacted Citra to inquire about my refund and or a final bill. No response. He contacted Citra again on 9/9/20 again no response. On 9/17/20 we were contacted by IQ Data Collection Agency trying to collect a debt from Citra. A fraudulent debt. Long story short. Citra at Windermere violated Fl. statute 83.14 by not sending the required and proper "LETTER OF INTENT". It turned out that Citra had tried to fraudulently charge me for rent past my move out date and for cleaning fee's that as you read earlier I had already took care of. The apartment was left in perfect condition. My son hired an attorney to help save our credit. IQ Data later made a written statement that Citra had in fact did Fail to send proper notice. Even after this Citra failed to respond to our many attempts to cure this issue and receive our rightfully due full refund. To this date Citra has ignored every attempt that my son made to Citra giving them every opportunity to Right their Wrong. Now the Orange County Consumer Protection Agency has recorded our complaint against Citra so that, if other consumers file similar complaints the agency can indicate a pattern of deceptive conduct. From visiting the BBB website and all the many complaints filed against Citra I'd assume there're consumers besides myself that may feel Citra Violated the Florida Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act. I hope anyone looking for a new apartment does their due diligence. I'm now hoping that a Senior Legal Aid Counsel could assist me in getting my refund and damages. read more

Absolutely the worst apartment I have ever rented. Management changed twice since February 2017. Fees for everything. $43 fee just to pay online! Late fee after 2 days, even on the weekend when the office is closed! Unresponsive unless they want you. Landscape maintenance non existent. Garbage service laughable. Pest control ridiculous....we have wasp nests outside both entrances. The lease is 40 pages! Including 10 addendums written only to protect Citra. We move out in a few weeks; can't wait to get away. WELCOME TO THE SLUMS.. My wife and I moved to Citra at Windermere Apts. in April 2015. We renewed our lease for another year, that was a very big mistake. I had a 7% rent increase, stupid me. We were promised a two lane bowling alley, new grills, renovate the club house and gym. This was promised to be complete in 90 days. Work was started In November. The gym reopened about a month ago, the pool opens and then closes. The two lane bowling alley became one as there was not room for two lanes, God only knows when work will be done. Some days there are no workers here at all. Management, local or corporate are out of there elements, could not manage a lemonade stand. After my proper Move-out on 7/20/20, since 8/10/20 I've tried to communicate with Citra all to no avail and no response. Citra's Collection agency IQ Data even made a statement that Citra FAILED to send me the proper "Letter of Intent". Further Citra was making up false charges and trying to collect rent for days past my Move-Out date. It's my opinion that Citra has also violated the Florida Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act (Part2, Chapter 501, Florida Statutes) and the Orange County Consumer Protection Agency has recorded my complaint so that if other Consumers contact their agency in regards to Citra the agency can track a pattern of deceptive conduct.
