While my parents introduced me to a family friend who was a real estate agent, I had no idea how to go about finding a loan officer! After digging through Yelp/Google, I stumbled upon Meridox Mortgage that had stellar reviews and took a chance. I called Meridox and was put in touch with Trung Tran. I let him know that I didn't have any knowledge of how the house-buying process works, but he was incredibly supportive and assured me he would walk me through every step. Shortly after we finished talking on the phone, he sent me a list of items to provide for the pre-approval letter. Trung's turnaround was quick. I sent him my information in the evening and got the letter the next morning. My real estate agent used this letter to draft the offer...it was accepted! After my offer was accepted, the rest of the process was somewhat nebulous, but my real estate agent worked closely with Trung to help me through. Trung was with me every step of the way. He patiently explained how my monthly mortgage payment and closing costs were calculated and even helped me negotiate a home insurance offer. He even kept a close eye on the market and advised me when I should lock in the rate. I thought home buying would be more stressful, but it wasn't as bad as I thought because Trung made every step clear and was very on top of deadlines. From pre-approval to loan closing, it took just one month! Thank you Trung for being so diligent and patient in helping me secure my dream home! Trung was also very proactive in reaching out to me a few months later when interest rates dropped by about 1%. I had the honor of working with Trung again for my refinance, and it was also efficient and painless! I recommended Trung to my coworker recently when she was looking to buy a condo. Highly recommended to anyone who is in a market for a house to look into Meridox!! Thanks again for your hard work, Trung!!!

A little background: I did 2 house purchases, and 1 house sale by myself without a realtor before engaging Meridox. I didn't need handholding, because I was not a first-time buyer. I wanted an advisor who can give me an honest opinion as to pricing, knows the neighborhoods, and can negotiate with the seller's agent. Linh was so on top of things. She understood that I was busy and scheduled multiple showings for me on weekends. She mapped out our route, so we can be efficient with time. She never asked me to consider any property that was outside my price range or not what I was looking for. I was able to knock out many home viewings with her, and we put in a couple of offers. I saw a house that fell out of escrow. I messaged her, and she was immediately on it. She showed me the house, called the seller's agent, and basically convinced the seller to take my offer that was a tad below listing that either that same day or the next. (OC is a hot market, so this was an incredible deal! My other offers all sold above listing.) She was incredibly responsive, super sharp, and very easy to work with. I used Meridox as my mortgage broker as well and used them again to refinance a year later. Very seamless and easy transaction. Forget all the agents who claim to "treat you like family." Choose Meridox: the true professionals.

FCI is, by far, the worst in terms of communication, clerical errors, lender payments, etc. It appears the customer service staff is not knowledgeable and treats investors like borrowers. I got frustrated due to a late payment on one of my loans, and was told there was not a late payment. However, I was informed a week later that the loan due date was modified and payment would be issued on a new due date. Additionally, the statements are are confusing and difficult to read with multiple loans so need to call to clarify which payments belong to which loan. I received a payment that was more than the expected interest and discovered the payment was for 2 separate loans, which caused much confusion. I did request a change in servicing companies via the private lending company who uses FCI. However, the answer was an emphatic 'No', so I am stuck with FCI for all my investments with this private lending company. If you have a choice, try Del Toro or Note Servicing Center.

We ventured out to find an investment property and Ricky's speed and responsiveness were incredible! In what is a very tight and competitive market, Ricky identified a property that met almost all of our criteria, with a great sense of urgency. It was clear during the process that Ricky has established relationships in the real estate community, he already demonstrated solid rapport with the seller's agent, which made the process very fluid. We were able to close on the property far more quickly than we anticipated and Ricky handled much of the leg work on his own - taking many of the tasks off of our plate, which we greatly appreciated. Not only did Ricky identify and secure the property, but he also provided us with the loan vehicle needed to fit our needs. The instrument was far better than anything else we saw in the market and he showed he has strong expertise in financing as well. Above all, Ricky is a gentleman with a great work ethic. He treats everybody like family and has a true desire to go above and beyond for his clients. It shows in his day-to-day interactions and he leaves no stone unturned. It is refreshing to work with someone who actually cares about customer service and always takes your call. I strongly recommend Ricky for ALL of your real estate needs.
