The administration listens to parent concerns and makes thoughtful changes when needed. The parent-volunteer organization does many fun and creative things during the year to fundraise toward ideas for improvements and fun things for the students and teachers. The after school clubs evolve each year based on experiences in the prior year. The teachers create a challenging environment for students, are caring, encouraging, and responsive to parent concerns. While the school is a charter with STEAM focus, its four locations across Jacksonville align with Duval county in many aspects. We have scene expansions and improvements to the school location done every year, both to the building, the interior, grounds maintenance, and traffic improvements. This is a great school that actively works on being better all the time.

i do not like this school. i would rate it a solid 0/5 but thats not possible, so i give it a 1…read more there are many teachers who make students feel terrible. ive had one teacher tell me that i was asking for attention, and that i need to calm down. i calmed down after i had a teacher who actually cared for me comfort me. the other teacher was screaming at me for breaking a minor rule. the teacher who comforted me quit because the school was not treating her right. i completely understand her leaving. i even once had another teacher tell me that i should listen to a man who believed women shouldnt have the right to vote. what is wrong with this school??? if i could leave, i would.

Although it's well-known for its challenging academics and rigorous standards, it prepares the students very well for college and graduate schools. In fact, shortly after I graduated, Stanton was ranked #4 for the most challenging high school in the Southern US. The school offers honors, AP, and IB classes. Stanton offers various honor societies that support the students in every field, ranging from math society to English society to Spanish society to music society and so forth. Besides being academically gifted, Stanton also offers athletic programs to provide students with physical activity and morale. Some sports include cross country, wrestling, tennis, lacrosse, and so forth. The students that go to Stanton are very competitive. They usually perform higher than average. As a result, this school has far above test scores and results. Fun facts: there are more females than male students, the ratio of student to faculty is 19:1, and the school is very diverse. Overall, Stanton was a great experience for me. It really prepared me for college and beyond. Its excellent academics truly made my college years less stressful. I had a hate-love relationship with Stanton. There were times that I felt like I wanted to drop out of school. But there were times that I focused and dedicated myself to finishing the school. My foremost advice is if you can truly stay on task and do your work, then this school is right for you. Stanton is designed to challenge one's mind. It provides good teachers that help and encourage you through 4 years. The work is overwhelming, but anything is possible with hard work and dedication. Remember, hard work pays off. Start off with honors classes. If you excel in those classes, move to IB classes. AP classes are mandatory.

However, when we came to Harvest, all of that changed. The focus is on kids learning, in a positive Christian environment, and not on homework testing and peer pressure. My kids have really excelled in academics and THEY ARE SO HAPPY each day they go to school and when they come home. With the added benefit of dual enrollment classes, most kids finish with college credits when the graduate. While the small Christian environment will not be for everyone, it has certainly served my kids well.
