Not too sure if I cared for that my daughters last two teachers were very approachable and were more sociable and got the opportunity to know myself and my child a bit better. She's very closed off and honestly a bit odd but does educate my child. The teacher was very by the book and kept me informed of all activities in a timely fashion. However, not sure if is the school or the teacher but it seems her other school had parents more involved. My mother and I used to volunteer between two and five days a week I sign a form at the beginning of the year to come in very 2 weeks and do art history lessons to the class and I was never contacted. As well as I have offered several times to volunteer and was never contacted. I also wish there was more clarification on release of parent information. The teacher gave my info to the room mother someone I didn't know and she "accidentally" attached me to an email ad for some kind of diet pill she was selling! Told the teacher no apology from them but emails stopped. Recently I started receiving emails from another parent....that's frustrating!! Besides these quirks the school it self is very nice, clean, great staff. She's only in second grade so here's to 3 more years!!

Stacie Prosser is an excellent director and communicator that made the whole administrative side of VPK very easy. And Karen McKeon's commitment and passion for her students is unparalleled. If you are able to get your kid into Little Cardinal's Nest at Cunningham Creek, consider yourself lucky. Our daughter loved LCN every day and the program really prepared her for Kindergarten.

The staff was absolutely incredible and they made us feel like we were part of their family. Ms. Karen is an absolutely incredible teacher and my daughter still talks about her to this day like many of Ms. Karen's former students. I was absolutely stunned at the quality of instruction my daughter received at LCN. She quickly learned her alphabet and then learned to recite it backwards which I still can't do. Then she began to cite the Greek alphabet and I am a little ashamed but when she asked for help I had no idea what the next letter was. By the end of the year my daughter was beginning to read and she was beginning to solve math problems. I was so proud of my daughter and the staff at LCN and I would highly recommend them without hesitation.

That's right, PVPV used to be K-6 all in one building. Very hard to believe. The students graduating this year (2014) have never known NE St. Johns County to not have more than one elementary school. If i was planning to raise little rugrats of my own, I would definitely find a way to live in this part of the county as I would want them to attend this school. I'm sure all the teachers I had have long since retired, but this school still has - and will probably keep - a great reputation. As someone that lives in the neighborhood, the only thing I could complain about would be the traffic in the mornings. But it's really not THAT bad and they've got it down to a science.

Every one seemed average, and just like the rest. When we got to the Red School House, and took a quick tour, we were instantly aware of some, "above and beyond", going on. In the class our little one was going to be in, there were two tables full of very attentive boys and girls doing actual school work! Instantly we knew this was the place. Come to find out we had several friends/ and clients that rave about the school. The entire experience can be summed up into an observation that I made during the Christmas sing along. The staff was very into the whole process. Ambitiously singing in front of several dozen parents and relatives takes a lot of posture, but imagine the dedication it took for them to teach all of those songs to the kids. Our little one has been singing Holiday songs all month long. But the thing that got me was one of the children came late. As he walked up, one of the teachers while in mid song called his name, gave him a quick hug, and said, "I love you", in a very genuine way, then went right back into it. THAT.... is the type of people I want my child around.
