How in the heck did this bank get 5 stars? I'll tell you how... They pay their employees and their…read morefriends and family to write rave reviews. Their practices are egregious, as displayed by their President/CEO P. Douglas Darlington, who covered up gross misconduct of a general manager at their Collegeville branch. Yes, imagine a general manager denying a human being, someone who has done banking with them on and off for several years being told she cannot use the rest room. Then imagine you go to the bank to redeem a certificate that had matured a few days earlier. But you lost the original certificate. Now most banks, and Phoenixville Federal Bank had once done this with me, would be to have the customer sign a form stating they lost the certificate. But this time the general manager refuses to allow you to sign the form... even though you want to keep the money in her bank. All you want to do was redeem the certificate, put part of the money in a checking account and open a new certificate for the balance. But you are not given any type of verification that you put the balance in a new CD. You don't have a cell phone, so you go out to the tellers and ask to use their phone to call the police.... YES, IT GOT THIS THIS LEVEL.... You finally get your money back and go to a really nice and friendly bank which even has a higher rate!!!! And P. Douglas Darlington makes up lies lies lies when you report the bank to the banking associations. NICE...NOT! EVIL, most assuredly!

Worst bank experience I have ever had! All of my accounts…read morehad been closed without my knowledge or notification. They claimed to have sent 2 notices. No emails, no texts, no phone call, no alerts on any of my 4 accounts! I had to make 4 different phone calls to get anyone with a grain of intelligence to help. I was told to go to a branch, not the local one, 20 minutes away, update my address, and all would be well. It was not. I was then told that I could open new accounts, and transfer the balance. I was down to one account, I withdrew the cash, and was told that I cannot open another account until this account was "officially" closed. So how am I to pay my bills??? What about all of the accounts on auto pay??? Then I was told that the other 3 accounts balances' would be sent in a cashier's check. And...then wait for them to clear. Now, they want me to open all new accounts, pay more for new checks, and whatever other nonsense they choose to put me through. I am shopping for another bank. They are closing 2 branches in my area.

Give me a small local bank any day. I just concluded several years of dealing with What The Fargo Bank. My parents dealt with the slime here for years. It took 18 months of delay after delay after delay to close the estate. In my opinion they dragged things out to continue accessing maintenance fees on the trust. This was all handled in Winston-Salem, NC. And now today 7/31/2017 we learn of more cheating the customer in the auto loan dept. And the same shameful CEO and board members still at the reins. A Joke!

Without dwelling into details of those issues, just know my husband and I have found Kathryn to be straight-talking, honest, patient, and best, listens well to our concerns. By her answers and actions, we sense she is a seasoned professional and has represented PNC Bank well for many years. I know the trend is for customers to bank online, eliminating the need for real face to face banking interactions. Please PNC Bank, you cannot eliminate the great PR customer relations Kathryn gives you to keep us banking at PNC.

I wanted to open an account at this bank and had a couple of slight hiccups in the process because of certain personal information that they needed that I had simply never been asked to provide by any other bank. The manager at the bank proceeded to insult me by saying, "Well, I don't know what kind of haphazard institution would let you open an account with only this type of information available" and I informed her that I had opened an account with HSBC Bank, a much larger and international bank, with the same information and paperwork I provided to her. Then, all of a sudden she was fairly speechless. Disgusted, I walked a little further into town and went to what was a Wachovia at the time and they were much kinder and accommodating and opened up an account for me in no time. I've been to a couple of PNC Banks in NJ and they seemed to be nice enough, so I tend to think that this location was just a fluke.

I am now told that I must show ID EVERY time I make a business deposit. They have previously had problems with fraud, and NOW even though I have been a long-standing customer with an outstanding banking/credit history, they tell me that does not matter. I'm writing to recognize an employee at the Collegeville TD bank branch. Her name is Sheena(sp?)…read more She was so friendly and helpful I have an account with TD Canada. So while I was visiting my parents in Collegeville I decided to finally do something with the huge jug of coins I had gathered and left there. I spent a few hours rolling the coins so that I could bring them in the following day and get some cash. When I brought it in I was told they didn't accept rolled coins and that I had to use their coin counting machine. So while I sat doing that, unrolling each roll of coins, Sheena was nice enough to come over and offer to help me do so when she was finished with who she was working with( she was the only one to offer, I did think someone else would've offered because it wasn't busy, but maybe they had other work, or maybe my expectations for customer service are too high) Then the machine broke. And several people came and tried different things to fix it. Now I was in a hurry, so I was slightly more frustrated than I had to be, it was out of anyone's control really. But that being said Sheena did her best to accommodate me and try and offer solutions to help while I was in a hurry. She was so friendly and was leagues above many in customer service. It's employees like her that keep customers happy and satisfied with your services. So thank you Sheena for being so helpful!

Last month I opened new business and personal checking accounts at Victory Bank in Limerick, PA…read morebecause I was dissatisfied with the recent changes made by my credit union. I've just finished my first statement cycle with Victory, and so far I'm really satisfied. Victory Bank offers both business and personal accounts, and depending on how your business is structured, they may be able to put both accounts on the same platform. I'm an S corp with no other employees, so both my accounts are on the same platform, and I can see them at the same time. I can transfer funds electronically from business to personal; there's a single logon for both accounts; the account transaction history list goes back to the date the account was opened (making it easy to do a Ctrl F to search for transactions); and there are no minimum balances to open either account. Something to know is that they do not have ATMs at this bank, but they do provide a $20 a month rebate for ATM fees. I'm not closing my credit union personal checking account because I have a regular direct deposit there. So I plan to electronically transfer most of the deposit from the credit union to Victory and leave enough money at the credit union for me to withdraw cash when I need it (they're more convenient for me to get to). It's called a bank-to-bank transfer, it's easy to do, and Victory Bank staff helped me set it up. The manager (and all the staff) at Victory Bank have been very helpful. So I recommend looking into their bank and see if it meets your needs, whether it's business or personal.
