So where does one start? Oh I know ordering me checks telling me they will be delivered to my house, waiting for almost 3 months for them then being told that they are at the bank. Which I opened the account at, an hour away and they can't send them out. Apparently I was supposed to have been told this information at the beginning but Mr. TD left this out when I was opening my account. So I drive the hour and they're there. At least they were there. Maybe that's the one star? Banking always has its ups and downs. But when a bank consistently is down more than up you have to worry. The service was never quick, efficient or even accurate. The people were nothing wonderful, not anything like what Regis and Kelly advertise now. Unless they did a complete overhaul and got rid of everyone who couldn't or wouldn't answer questions accurately or even at all. By the end of my sentence with these people I was more than 400 bucks in unnecessary fees and the only way for them to reverse them and even offer a resemblance of an apology was to contact the Better Business Bureau after trying to go through their useless, contradicting and condescending bureaucracy. Customer Service is not a term the people I dealt with through this company understand, try to implement or seem to notice. I left, and as I said had to contact the BBB(http://www.BBB.org) to get my money back and to close my account. Even though their rules clearly stated, even in the fine print, that I did nothing wrong but instead of adhering to their own standards I was charged with unnecessary fee on top of unnecessary fee until I had enough. Never again. Never.

This is your basic drive up teller type bank. No walk up tellers, Just the drive up ATM and…read moretellers. The bank portion is actually a little hard to find. It is around the back of a real estate office. The return to Route 127 is not an easy feat. You need to conduct an illegal U turn. I like using the drive up tellers and ATM. I do not like the bank's location.

There people are very nice and helpful - as good as any bank I have ever dealt with…read more The reason for 3 stars and not 5 is absurdity in fees. Almost every bank offers debit cards free of fees. Cape Ann charged $1 for each use as a debit card, but not when used as credit (less desirable for merchants; I have seen many that ask for debit instead of credit if possible and one that accepts only debit). To the bank's credit, the person who helped open my account was very clear about this and told me to always select credit when making a purchase to avoid the fee. I used this bank because I had the need for a business account in the town that has a branch, but would never use a bank with a fee structure like this for my personal account. And yes, the $1 fee also applies to personal accounts. The bank does not use state of the art security. Their idea of multi-factor online banking authentication is a password plus a security question. They did not even seem to be familiar with the industry standard of sending a one-time code to a cell phone or using a token generation app registered to the account. This meshes nicely with the account terms that are basically "customer agrees that any losses due to electronic fraud are their loss, not the banks". Updated: I just received by initial check order of two pads of 50 checks each (no cover included). I was not amused when I saw that Cape Ann Savings charged $33.99 for this. Wow. Just Wow. Any reorder will go to an independent (Walmart is $8.50 for 50% more checks)

I recently had the chance to work briefly with the employees at FNBI. I was very impressed with the people and atmosphere of the bank. Everyone I met was friendly, hard-working, caring and competent. I was glad to see a bank that encouraged a positive attitude and really cared about the well-being of its employees. That is so rare in this day and age. I was truly impressed and not at all surprised to find that this bank has a reputation for great customer service and community support. When you treat employees well, it shows!
