Although it was our first time buying a house, we were probably significantly above-average in our overall preparation and research of market conditions. Like that right there feels weird!! The broker also mentioned not to call my bank to get my money back either.. It was mentioned, If i qualify it will be used as a down payment towards the fees.. but still. I personally wasn't comfortable with giving $1k for an "application". Like i have never heard of this.. especially this day in age. if it looks like a scam, feels like a scam... ITS A SCAM!
