This is like any other walk in hair salon, there are several stylists with varying skill levels and expertise. I have had a handful of their stylists cut my hair and everyone has been very kind and professional. I have gotten a lot of good haircuts here. I just wanted to be sure to give a shoutout to Alma, she has given me better haircuts than anyone else in the county. She does exactly what I ask for, has excellent attention to detail and takes into consideration how I part my hair. Not every stylist out there takes into account how I part my hair and they'll part it in the middle while cutting layers and then I end up all lopsided lol. If you have long hair and you part it on the side you know what I mean. read more

I had never been to Citicuts before today, and I was somewhat skeptical by looking at their rating... but I had a fantastic experience at this salon. My haircut turned out exactly how I wanted it (I showed my hairdresser multiple pictures of the haircut/style I wanted on my phone). We had a great conversation, but she also worked efficiently, getting me out of there in about 40 mins (which I VERY much appreciate on a busy day)! I give Citicuts 5 stars because I LOVE my haircut & it was a quick, easy, and enjoyable process. I would definitely come here again and would recommend to anyone! Thanks for the good service :) read more

I never even got in the door. I arrived around 2:45 and the door was locked. The lady behind the counter gave me a time out signal. I waited a around a bit (thinking she needed a minute to finish something). She unlocked the door and told me they had closed about an hour ago. She shared that you should call first before coming and plan to call in the morning. If no one is scheduled to get a haircut they often close early. It was very disappointing because I had hired a sitter to watch the kids. read more

I live in Ventura and I came all the way out to Camarillo on Valentines Day to get my boyfriend a gift card from here as he goes pretty often and he mentioned it's where he likes going. I was greeted by two ladies and had asked for a gift card. They had no idea HOW to give/get one for me and the only solution I got was "Come back tomorrow when the owner is here...." I don't live here and I'm kinda here for a Valentines Day gift only. So I asked "Maybe you can add a credit to his account with you or something?" All I got was "No we don't know how to do that". Very useless and disappointing when I'm trying to do something kind and they hardly helped with any form of solution. Could've easily called the owner to ask or done something but they were no help at all. read more

Came in at 530 today to get a haircut and the two ladies inside said they were closed for the day. They said they had called the owner to see if they could go home. They said they usually close at 6. Even though it was 530 they still wouldn't give me a haircut. The door was unlocked and all the lights were on, and it was definitely 30 minutes before close. They didn't even ask what I wanted done (just bangs and my hair trimmed). They just told me to come back tomorrow and that they close at 3...but obviously they don't adhere to their business hours so even if I come at 2 they might be closed. I hadn't seen these ladies before so they're probably newer but if you look at another review apparently this is a problem people encounter. *Edit, the two ladies said it was due to slow business but this place is always slow. Every time I walk by the employees are always reading in their salon chairs. read more

I have been coming to Citicuts for the past 11 years. I have seen it fog through changes up and down and know that they have struggled at times but I kept coming back because overall it was good and convenient. Alma and Esmeralda were great for years I know staffing has changed recently. To be fair I had been turned away one other time prior to closing but that was a couple minutes before closing, I get that. Now for today. Needed a hair cut, checked the hours and it said open until 6. I drove over there and as I walked in the door, the female employee said I'm sorry we just closed. So apparently they aren't open until 6 they close before 530. She was ready to go, had a child there with her( assuming hers) and she was ready to go. Now I understand everyone wanting to get off work, but to shut a place down over a half hour before your stated close time? Especially when the business struggles? This is how you lose your last few loyal customers helping keep you in business. Well good luck Citicuts. No longer worth it for me to drive to your business only to be turned away by employees that are more concerned about getting home early than keeping your business alive. read more

I like it more when they had a rewards program and now they don't. There prices have increased and there wait time is horrible. Contact me for where i go to. read more

Been getting my hair cut here for years. Professional, no fuss, friendly, in and out.

At the last minute we had to change our granddaughter's senior pic appt . and no one could do her hair or makeup. We called the salon in Westlake who did her hair and makeup for prom, booked solid. Sephora Westake, booked solid. I did an internet search and found Anthony at CitiCuts, Camarillo. He called me within a day and fit her in just in time for her appt for her Senior pic. He was amazing, his asst who did my granddaughter's hair was amazing, his work is crazy great, she had fun with him. The salon was busy, lots of walk-ins and no one waited more than 10 minutes. Happy to find this gem in the shopping on the corner of Mission Oaks and Woodcreek. Everyone was nice, professional and I was treated like family. I should have taken a before and after photo. My only regret. Thank you Anthony (Tony) for your magic today. read more

My hair suffered various failures from other places, and needs a revamp ASAP. I was short on time and had to find something close. That is when I noticed Citicuts, and gave it a try. I am glad I did because Esmeralda is a wonder. She was very professional, evened my hair out, and made it as good as new. read more

I have been here several times and always request that Esmeralda cuts my hair. She is very friendly and efficient. She always cuts my hair just how I want it. Highly recommend! read more

Great customer service. I had a slight issue and it was resolved quickly.

Moved to Camarillo recently and noticed this saloon was not only close to my home, but the only one within a reasonable distance. Unfortunatley though twice now I've come here 30 minutes before closing, walked in, was ignored for 5 minutes then told they were closed. I guess I'd be a little more understandable if there was just one stylist there to close up but not when there's 2 or more. Besides, I'm a guy, my haircuts take 15 minutes tops. I've really wanted to make this place my new saloon but after this last run in, there is no way I'll be back. Btw, as I'm sitting in my car writing this, 3 other people have walked in to experience the same thing. read more

Regret not reading the one star reviews as they would have better prepared me for my experience. While I was getting my haircut, the customer that walked in was ignored by both workers--including the one sweeping. He left. While the two Citicuts employees were otherwise professional, the body language, side conversations, and manner of cutting my hair made me feel like I was bother more than a customer. Good material for a comedy skit though. read more

I just got my first haircut at Citicuts. I've been using the same hair stylist for years, but she moved away and I had to find a new place. I'm very pleased with the haircut I got from Julie today. She cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it and was very friendly and welcoming. I'll be back in 4 weeks and every month thereafter. This is a great place with excellent staff! read more

Citicuts is definitely underrated -- but shouldn't be overlooked. I came here because my other place fell through, and I was just as satisfied, if not more satisfied at Citicuts than at my regular place. The staff was timely, friendly, and they actually listened to what I wanted. Everything came out great, and I'd definitely recommend Citicuts to anybody who knows what they want, and wants it done right. read more

Esmeralda C. once again refuses service to another customer with autism. She had a knot in her hair. She wanted it cut out and cut short. She came with her parent. She left with no fuss and hurt feelings. This lady who is ignorant and cannot spell is losing customers. read more

I recently moved to the area and this salon was right in my area. I was hesitant at first with a few of the comments on here, but I figured I would give it a shot. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by multiple hairstylists and assured someone would be right with me. 30 seconds later a young lady walked from the back and also greeted me and asked how she may assist me. I was unsure about getting color, but was comitted to getting a haircut for sure. She then gave me some material and hue charts to look at while I made up my mind about the color. I waited about 10 minutes and my stylist was awesome. We talked color and cuts ... she was very well informed and helpful. Do to the damage of my hair, she suggested after my cut that I deep condition my hair and come back in so she can let me know if my hair was healthy enough. I will be back in 4 to 6 weeks and hope my hair is healthy enough for color. Great shop, well informed stylists and my new spot !!!!! read more

I've had several haircuts here. Laura is my favorite. She takes her time to do it right. Always looks good.

Today was the worst haircut experience I have ever had for my 13 year old. The visit here started out fine and I explained exactly how I wanted to have my son's hair cut. I explained that we wanted it cut in the shape of a "V" from top to the back and specifically told the woman (working there 11 years) that we did not want the front flat or rounded. She started the haircut and every few clips she would stop and stare at the television. (not a big deal). When she thought she was finished she said" is that ok". The hair in front was as flat across as could be. I told her it was not the way we asked her to cut it and she started cutting again. When she finished the second time the hair across the front was round as a basketball and again told her it was not correct but there was no way to add hair back on. She stomped her foot and said she cut the way I wanted and after a brief altercation I left the store without paying. I went back to store to tell her how unprofessional it was that she could not follow simple instructions. It was bad enough that I did not get mine cut there. I have been going there for more that ten years and they just lost a good customer. I will never return to citicuts as long as that woman works there. She should be fired for incompetence. So many better choices to get a haircut. ALTHOUGH THE EXPERIENCE WITH ONE EMPLOYEE WAS NOT PLEASANT FOR US, I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM THERE IN THE PAST AND THE OWNER IS A FANTASTIC PERSON THAT CARES ABOUT THE OPINION OF THE CUSTOMER. read more
