$50 the teller could not exchange. Instead she directed me to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.

I have personally banked with Citi since 2011 and feel that the bank and this branch has gone downhill since. During my most recent experience, I had a bill in my possession that was torn and took it in to be exchanged. The teller told me, "I cannot accept this, it's mutilated currency," she then proceeded to write the website for the Bureau of Engraving & Printing on a post-it. I didn't contest, but it sounded wrong to me. The following day, my mother took the same bill to Chase Bank and got a new one without a problem from the tellers. CitiBank- For a bank that does not have branches nation-wide and has very limited locations (and banking hours) throughout Southern California, this is a wild policy that puts more limits on how your clients bank. If this was an uneducated teller, please take the time to properly retrain your staff. I remember this branch when the tellers were Kenneth (?) and Kevin. Their customer service was the best and what kept my family banking with Citi for so long. I After the torn bill incident, I am seriously considering switching to Chase.

2nd visit. Two employees literally standing around shuffling deposit slips while 3 customers sit and wait.

Always have a positive experience with Bank of Whittier (was just speaking with Priscilla from Bank…read moreof Whittier) and am reminded that they are always professional, solution oriented and patient. I had multiple questions (and am currently a customer) and she answered everyone. The Bank provides very competitive rates and I even recall the CEO Dr. Yahia Abdul-Rahman taking time out to correspond with me. How can you lose when an institution has a good heart, serves the community, and is competitive. I've been with multiple other financial institutions with significantly more funding, and yet worse rates, service, and outcomes. Keep doing what you're doing Bank of Whittier!

Mr. Yahia Abdul Rahman CEO bank of Whittier. Thank you for helping me explain they way I got…read moretreated by you. Exactly my point, If you had given me a chance to speak, submit my paperwork and listen to what I have to say, you would not lie about me inquiring about a hair salon. I never, not once ever said hair salon. So get our conversation right! YOU NEVER GAVE ME A CHANCE TO EXPLAIN WHAT I WAS INQUIRING ABOUT! Then you go on in your reply that your credit policy requires at least 2 to 3 years hands on experience in the same field. But yet this person was approved for a $500,000 loan RIBA FREE for a Bagel shop with no prior experience. Business 'Halal' Financing for Muslim Entrepreneurs Gains Currency In mid-2009, Pakistani immigrant Junaid Akbar struck out at a host of major banks when he sought funding to buy bagel shop franchises in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Then, in early 2010, the retired computer programmer landed just over $500,000 from an unusual source: Bank of Whittier, a tiny community bank in Los Angeles that specializes in financing for Muslims who want to comply with Islamic anti-usury laws that prohibit the paying or charging of interest. Then you go on to say that I expressed disapproval. If anything you disapproved of me! Then you go on to say I was in business for 3 years. If you had given me a chance to speak and listen to what I had to say, you would know that I've been in business way, way longer then 3 years! Then you go on to say, that you had to remind me that my business and what I was inquiring about was a different profession! WOW REALLY! REMIND ME? DO NOT INSULT MY INTELLIGENCE! STOP WITH THE CONDESCENDING AND PATRONIZING! It's one thing to submit all the paperwork needed for approval or denial and it's another thing to deny anyone to submit paperwork never giving anyone a chance. So yes I felt discriminated against. Absolutely a terrible practice! I respectfully disagree with your frivolous and slanderous statements made by you about me! I wish Mr. Yahia Abdul Rahman CEO bank of Whittier the best of success.
