Don't let a loved one have a CitiBank checking account. If they've made that mistake, tell them to close it out. ASAP. Since my family member passed away going on a year ago, CitiBank has made it impossible to touch his checking account. Woops, you need to come back and sign something else. This after I had sat there, testamentary letter in hand (special trip #2, since they can't do ANYTHING remotely), as the manager told me the money was (finally) transferred to an estate account that it took us an hour to set up. The manager even mailed me brand-new checks to pay estate bills from that estate account. They all bounced - what? No money in the estate acct? Impossible. It must be a spam call. No? Not spam? I call and the branch manager says I have to drive back - for the 3rd time, 12 hours - to sign one place he missed - to fix their screw up when I was right there. Or, they say, maybe drive 6 hours to the branch closest to where you live to sign your name? Can't do a damn thing remotely - living in the dark ages. #thankyoufornothing 445 Forest Ave, Staten Island, NY. read more
