It appears that you can't have a Citi credit card if you don't use it. After being a holder of the Citi Double Cash Card for over 7 years, I was in informed by e-mail that my card was closed by inactivity. No warning that it would be closed ... just a closure letter. Well Citi Bank, the reason why your card wasn't being used is because of the bait and switch tactics you use. I started out as a "Cash Back" card and you changed it (didn't ask me) to "Thank You" points where I couldn't get money returned only apply it to my bill or purchase the ludicrous rubbish you offered. The problem is you change, at your discretion, the rules initially set up in your TOS and if the consumer doesn't like it then they are free to close their accounts, but only after they pay off the balance. Well keep my account closed there are plenty of better options with better rewards. Also Citi Bank does not provide customer phone service where a human actually answers Wake up and be more considerate of your clients.

This is in response to Wells Fargo Credit Cards. I signed up for their credit card and was…read moreapproved. I then got an email to call in and they went over all all my details again, asked more questions, sent me a text to my phone and I gave them back the code received. All was fine. I was told that the card would be here in 7 days. I got it and called to verify and turn it on. I got a notice that it was closed and couldnt be activated. I called in and was told that I had refused to send in a government issued id. That was incorrect - I was never asked to do that. I explained that I had done everything requested before, provided all info, they had done a hard inquiry with credit bureaus as Experian had notified me of that fact. I also told them that my name, which was causing the problem, has been my name for 60+ years, and that is appears on all bills, my license, my passport, all signed documents, a clearance issued by DoD, on my Global Entry card issued by the US government after undergoing extensive checks as well as doing a photo and fingerprinting. They wanted to send in a copy of some of these docs, or visit the nearest branch. I hung up and cut the card into numerous pieces. They had all the info, too much info, and had verified everything. I run into issues when going to the dentist, the hospital, a doctor, flying, etc. just because they don't know how to enter my name properly into the non-flexible fields on forms and applications - so it can take some time, if lucky, to find me at times. I don't need a bank or credit card to continue to cause me problems when they had everything necessary and verified it too! A bunch of idiots.

Not off to a good start on my auto loan. I set up automatic checks from my bank, but apparently…read moreUSPS is once again totally inefficient. Received 2 or 3 overdue paper notices, AFTER Wells Fargo cashed my check and it cleared my bank. Tried to call them but no way to skip all the Covid nonsense (like Wells Fargo would ever really give anyone a break. Didn't they create new accounts for people withOUT their permission?) Finally done with Covid nonsense and someone answered, but couldn't hear them. So tried their online service. They didn't like my proposed userid. OK, but then they made me type my password over twice again. I guess the folks that graduate with a 2.0 work for Wells Fargo designing their web site. Fortunately, the web site shows that they DID receive my payment, but not when. On the good side, at least Wells Fargo apparently did NOT charge me a penalty. I suppose their 4.34% interest rate was competitive or Tesla would not have used them for our Model S.
