When calling Madison Trust, the ability of speaking with a live person is refreshing. The telephone prompts are clear and directs you to the correct department to answer your questions. I had the pleasure of speaking with many of the representatives. Recently my call with Raven was seamless and a pleasure. Raven as every other representative I've spoken with, has always been responsive, courteous, professional, and efficient. I thought I'd share my positive experiences with Madison Trust as my passive custodian and all their representatives! read more

One of the SDIRA companies I have worked with. The process of creating account of very seamless and efficient. They work closely with private equities and ensure all the investment documents are obtained in a timely manner and funds are credited. on the positive side, their customer service is very responsive. however, that does not mitigate all the negative that it does. They take a lot of money to manage the account which really is nothing as the money went to another firm so i dont know why i had to use them. i thought that maybe they were there to protect me but no when the other firm turned out to be a fraud, they did nothing except continue to take money out of the account. then when i tried to close the account, they demanded a closing fee. they add no value. read more

A few years ago, my husband and I were ready to take the suggestion of a friend to work with Madison Trust. We're both so happy we did! Madison Trust assisted us with several investment transactions, and everything went smoothly to plan. The fees were lower than those of other trust companies, and we've found the online portal very easy to use when we need to check balances or update our records. (Our accountant is also quite happy about this!) My husband and I would both highly recommend Madison Trust to help you with your self-managed IRA accounts. read more

Additionally I found that their fees are reasonable and were amongst the lowest I could find. I would recommend. read more

I want to reply to Daniel about the response I received from his employees. I did receive communication from his employees. The first one only told me that Kat from the Durango office confirmed that the transfer was made according to my request. My request was made a number of months ago and I am almost 70. I didn't remember asking to transfer my money to Wells Fargo. The next employee told me that the funds were still in my Madison account. I hadn't heard that before and I didn't have access to my account. Yay, I found my money! What could you improve.... COMMUNICATION!!!! read more

I found out about Madison Trust after having experienced high fees and slow, unresponsive customer service at another trust company. It took me a while to move over to Madison--the transition took time because it involved retitling a deed and reregistering a property deed with county. Madison's customer support is responsive to inquiries and very helpful in explaining processes. I recommend Madison Trust and very pleased I made the switch in 2022. read more

I am an 83-year-old retired Senior Bank Lending Officer who served the Houston Community 1960-2006. In 2006, I placed a portion of my retirement in a self-directed IRA with Madison Trust. Initially, this decision was a good move, and Madison Trust was always helpful. Several years ago, things at Madison changed... I found it more difficult to navigate in their upgraded online system. I use a MacBook Pro, and all of a sudden, access to Madison began to collapse... Since that Time, I have not been able to go online to handle the usual business of managing my IRA...Logging in with a MAC and navigating had changed ...Today I have zero access, and Madison Staff who are professional and offer assistance of sympathy, but no reconciling fix to the logon issues that block me from taking care of my business. I am at a complete loss, and Madison offers no path....I have no problems accessing my account with Major Banks and Brokerage Houses with whom I have business, it is only the New Madison Trust that can answer, I, their client, am at a point of dumbfounded loss! My husband and I have had Madison Trust Company handling our self-appointed IRA's for the last couple years and are very happy with their service. We moved to Madison because our previous company's fees were higher and they were extremely difficult to contact. Madison Trust was very helpful with the set up process and transfer, and they are also very easy to reach by phone or email. When you speak with someone on the phone they're very approachable and professional as well. We're really glad we made the change to Madison and highly recommend them! read more

I learned about Madison Trust through a friend as I was looking to pull money out of my Roth IRA for an investment. I didn't know that I could make the investment through my Roth. That was just the beginning of an incredible working relationship with the highly professional, incredibly responsive and friendly people at Madison Trust. Candidly at first I didn't know how it worked but they were patient in explaining the process. I was also pleasantly surprised how fair their fees are in holding these investments. The only surprises at Madison Trust are pleasant ones; for example their efficiency in executing the transactions in a timely manner. I only wish my brokerage firm operated with the same level of responsiveness. Needless to say I highly recommend any one who is interested in investing from their Roth or Traditional IRA you will be extremely happy using Madison Trust! read more

RUN! They are unethical and they don't care about you. They have made legal conclusions although they are not attorneys and those conclusions contradict legal advice from our attorney. They retaliated when I complained about lack of online access and a requirement that we keep a $500 non-interest bearing deposit with them ongoing. Because I complained, they are now trying to blow our ROTH tax exempt status by closing our account and not accepting an asset instead of allowing me to transfer to another custodian. RUN! Also, their website claims they have 20,000+ customers but only roughly 50 employees. No wonder they are so bad. RUN! read more

I previously had my IRA at another trust company. We continually had one problem after another with them. It was recommended that we switch the investments to Madison Trust. My husband and I have been clients at Madison Trust Company for a few years. In general, we have had little reason to contact them (a GOOD thing in the custodian business) but today I encountered a client portal issue. I called Madison's helpline and had the pleasure of speaking to Raven V; Raven was naturally helpful and efficient, but also patient and gracious. In this world of largely digital communication, it is a such a benefit to have people like Raven V infusing character and personality to a company brand. I hope Madison appreciates her customer service! read more

I utilized MTC as I wanted to create a self-directed IRA. I tried going to local banks in my area in California and was met with confused faces and lots of "questions for managers". Eventually after many attempts to keep it local I found Madison. While the process is inherently confusing at first they helped walk me through it. MTC and Broad Financial even helped get me prioritized treatment with the firms where I intended to direct my IRA funds. If you're looking to move a 401K into something you feel strongly about as investment, they're a great help in setting up a trust so you are able to facilitate this transfer. Just be sure to do your due diligence and understand all the associated costs. read more
