This is one of the most unsecured banks I've ever been with. i keep everything private no card saved on my phone nothing even with Amazon. No games, no apps I pay for. I had 5 different cards in one year alone due to fraud. I had $100s ripped off between Apple charges and door dash. I have no door dash account and have never had a single thing Apple related and they stuck me with these fraud charges. I quit have a debit card with this bank and my account is now just a bill pay account. This is not a secure bank and they will not help you if go in and prove otherwise. Like most, I needed help re-establishing my credit. I took a chance on First Premier Bank, as their aggressive marketing made it easy to open an account. Skip forward about a year. I had the card and had a zero balance on it for about 2 months. I just needed it to help with usage ratio. FPB charged me an $8 "fee" and I had no idea. So, FPB was "kind" enough to report the account as late. They then, unbeknownst to me- and without warning, waived the $8 and closed my account. I had never been late and always kept my accounting good standing. All these f**kers did was make things worse. They wouldn't even remove the "late" payment when I asked them- as a courtesy. This company is predatory and is really the trash of the sub-prime world. The irony is they keep sending me sh*t all of the time to open another account. NO F**KING WAY. read more

Stay far far far away. This bank bills itself as a credit repair credit card company. What they are is predatory and have the worst customer service. I went through a divorce so my credit tanked. Thought it would be a good idea to use this to build my credit back. It was not. I told them multiple times, to change my due date to the 15th, when I get paid, but they refused every time. I finally called to close the account and the lady on the phone had the worst attitude and kept doing everything but cancel the card. They offered me a $400 credit limit with a $95 program fee to pay BEFORE activating the card and a $99 Initial Fee. Check this out... Most creditors want to see you using less than 33% of your credit limit. If I take this offer, it puts me at a 25% usage and 50% once I get fuel to fill up my truck. The credit limit is a joke for the fee they charge. They are screwing over the little guy. This is supposed to be for people who have less than good credit and need to build their credit. However, when you are really trying to help somebody better themselves, you don't charge outrageous fees to do so. Yes, it's a risk, and so is getting out of bed and going outside. Everything in life and business is a risk. Doesn't mean you should charge out the @$$ for helping somebody better themselves. I have about a 650 credit score depending on where you look. I was offered this and must decline the offer because the $194 fee is something I could use to put food on the table or pay a bill. Never get a credit card from them. Was desperate almost 2 years ago when I lost job unexpectedly and needed extra cash and applied. Not only did I have to put down money for the card, around 150, just to get a card with a limit of 500, I was charged interest on that card before I even received it. Interest on the 150 I had to pay to get it while they deducted that from my credit of 500 leaving me with only 350 credit when the card finally arrived. Then you not only get billed an annual fee BUT they bill you monthly on top of the monthly interest rate fee... which they'll increase randomly as well. And then ask if you want to sign up for another card if you make payments on time. Yeah, right! Then the 2nd year they charge you less annually but then charge you more monthly. Such a scam and worst part is they are doing it to people who are desperate and need the money or have little to none. Avoid the company in all forms from their branches and credit unions to their credit cards and whatever else. Lowest of the low when it comes financial institutions. Trying to squeeze every last dime out of you. And funny part is their customer service team doesn't deny their practices and how messed up it is. This bank is awful. I realize its credit rebuilding, but it has THE WORSE customer service, automated and manned, I've ever experienced. The self sight wont work most of the time, you are on hold forever, when they do pick up they tell you to call back. I've never had some much trouble PAYING anyone in my life. You can't just use a credit/atm card, you have to enroll your checking account and routing number? And after going through a 4 minutes list of phone options, you are often told "we can't help you now', or "we are closed, call back" i"m cutting this card up tomorrow and utilizing Capital One's card with a better APR, better annual free, and a cash back bonus. Premiere bank had such high rates, fees etc. that you never get ahead, and rarely break even. I used the card a half a dozen times in 2.5 years (small purchases like gas) and i have a balance of $300 of the $400 limit ALL THE TIME. You are getting no more of my money. Bye premier! read more

DON"T DO IT The most unreal experience i've ever had in my life. I kept getting notices that I was approved for a 2nd card (due to good payment history) I accepted the 2nd card as I was going on vacation. I tried to use it once while I was gone and they froze my card due to fraud suspicion. (i was in Miami, not Nigeria) It has been next to impossible to unfreeze my acct. It's been almost a month and I am constantly given the runaround. I'm told different things by different ppl. Some agents are nicer than others. They didn't accept my ID b/c it has a different appt # on it (i changed apts but remained in the same building) I tried send my electric Bill and first they told me it wasn't visible. Then when I submitted a close up they said not they need to send a whole statement. I did I sent the whole thing and they said my address wasn't visible. I resend a close up oh now they need the entire page. Every time you submit anything it takes 5-7 business days. Come on man. This isn't the 80s. I didn't fax in any paper work. I submitted pics right off of the app. It should not take this F$@*ing long. It kills me b/c i needed it on my trip, couldn't use it and now I can't even use it to pay bills that I can't pay liquid b/c I had to use liquid on my vacation. This is like a weird company from the past. Everyone there that I talk to sounds like they are over 50 and in Ohio. The whole experience left me feeling like this was a scam. If I can could give a negative star rating I would. Had paid off my dad's credit card and called to cancel it. Now my dad doesn't speak English well so I am the one that handles his account. So, all of business I've deal with will accept to speak to me with the permission of my dad. Well, this person named Michelle just didn't understand that and was quite rude. worst credit card company I had a card 2 years not one late payment had 2 credit raises in that time I switched bank accounts an payment information. I switched it on drop down menu it pulled from old account I switched it again hit pay it pulled from other account I called in payed remaining balance with debit card. a month later my remaining credit still says zero I call in the make me pay 279 the remaining balance but told me I had 2 charge backs of 30$ from a the old account they pulled from. after I pay card in full they inform me my account is closed in November but I have talked to customer care 5 times an no one told me that till jan16th. almost 2 months after my account was closed. an exsperian credit shower they closed account but they said it was error an I just needed to pay remaining loan balance whitch the closed account. no missed payments in 2 years. then they pulled twice from a closed account but I paid full balance on same day by debit card. does not make any Sence an customer care is clueless about anything. stay away from this bank. huge red flags. read more

I believe this bank is a part of a scam operation. They allow fraudulent charges on the card. Then, when you jump through their hoops to dispute the charge using their archaic dispute process, they will "investigate" the charges (or so they claim), close your account, open a new account, and then determine that you have to pay the fraudulent charges on to of that. I got this card and some others in order to build credit to buy a house for my family, my mom, and my disabled brother. I seldom used this card and only enough to keep it active. I paid it off frequently as well. I was surprised to see a $217 charge that I didn't make. I discovered that it was a fraudulent charge on a website I never visited. I disputed the charge with First Premier Bank. Their process requires you to complete a form on a printed statement, scan it, and upload it on their website. I knew then that this was going to be a problem. Who uses such an archaic dispute method? I was shocked to learn the responded to the dispute by closing my account and opening a new account. If you're in the process of buying a home, that is a devastating blow to your credit. We had a pre-approval letter in hand, and having a new account opened after it was issued disqualified that letter. Our mortgage broker discovered it as we were preparing an offer on the house we picked out. It was so disappointing. I called First Premier Bank and to add insult to injury, they said that they determined that I was liable for the $217 fraudulent charge even after they closed my account and opened a new one that I never authorized. I couldn't keep a card that allows fraudulent charges and then makes me liable for those charges. So, I was forced to close the account - the brand new account I didn't authorize to be opened in the first place. Now I have 2 closed accounts on my credit report in addition to paying them $217. Laughingly, the offered me a $45 to keep the account open. I wonder if that was so they could go spend another $217 of my money? I am so regretful that I ever did business with such and evil company. Because of them, we have had a setback of months to fix this issue. Months that my Mom and disabled brother will have to wait to get the live-in help they need. I was approved for a card in February paid all of the associated fees around $200 and because I changed the card I use to make the payments they froze my account and I was told by supervisor Tammy that they won't unfreeze my account because I will not send them more information regarding my personal bank account. We paid off a loan on May 29th & as of today, 6-13-2022, have not received the title. I called the county treasurer's office & they told me that First Premier Bank had never released the lien. I paid payments four times and their initial payment of 85 or $95. I cannot use my card cause now they want to verify who's name the debit card is under that I pay my payments for the credit card debit card is under my name I sent all info into them with a picture of both sides of my debit card and they still haven't reactivated my account. I have a auto loan through First Premier. Every year I get a notice of threat my insurance has expired on my vehicle when insurance declarations have been sent to them multiple times. Their process is completely broken. When you call. They can't even see what was sent to them that day. Just shows a document was sent and takes two to three days To see the actual document. So after I provided the requested statement from my professional bank they "First Premiere Bank" will not release my available credit now because it was not on a Bank letterhead. So as of today 1-28-2019 "they" are now requesting another $5 fax from "my" financial institute signed by the second party being myself after telling me voice to voice that a bank statement was all they needed to confirm payment on my First Premiere Bank card account. And NOW that wasn't' enough. WTF! Omg. Was recognized financial provider doesn't accept E-mail communication in 2019. First Premier Bank Changes the terms and raises fees as you go along. Do not ever get a credit card from this bank. They are legalized crooks. They want all the fees possible. In one month with interest it is very possible to have a minimum payment of $40 or $50 then your interest and fess will actually come out $70 some which if it puts you over a credit limit will cause a $39 over credit limit fee. Credit one in Vegas is a better card than these jokers. On top of that they are very very rude. read more

Yelp HQ just emailed me to tell me First Premier Bank paid them to remove my review, so I am re-posting it. The excuse (lie) that yelp gave was that it does not appear to be an experience with First Premier Bank. Are you kidding me? Look at the dozens of other reviews and they all say basically the same thing. I even broke down the amount I have to pay yearly by showing the annual fee and monthly fee. Of all of my cards, FPB is the only one that charges a monthly fee ON TOP OF the annual fee. FPB newest scam-a-thon is convincing you to get another card, so you will have to pay $223 twice a year, once for each card, not counting interest of course. By the way, the extra fee to raise your credit limit is 25% of the limit increase. This fee is not for a purchase or for using the card, this is just for letting them give you a credit limit increase, even if you don't use it to purchase anything else. For example, if you agree to a $400 limit increase, the fee is $100 Below is my original review which Yelp deleted, and will eventually delete again, I am sure: Do not under any circumstance get this card!!! The basic mandatory fees per year are $223/year and that is even if you always pay on time. In addition to the $79 yearly fee, there is another $144 yearly fee which is broken down monthly into $12/month (which they don't tell you about.) They also continually badger you to increase your credit line, but they don't tell you that they are going to charge you another fee to raise your credit limit. That's right--a fee to raise your credit limit, even if you pay on time every month and it was their idea. Customer service will not assist you under any circumstances. These are the biggest cheating scum bags on the face of the earth. Just... don't .....do .....it. There are so many other cards that are much better if you want to build your credit....from companies that won't rob you blind and keep you a debt slave. Update: To clarify, for the math impaired, $79+$144=$223 per year total fees, no matter whether you use your card or not, not including interest of course. The $79 and $144 is a breakdown off the $223 total yearly fees. The $144 is obviously 12 months x $12 per month for the monthly fee. I'm not saying that they don't put the $12/month in fine print somewhere, but it may not be obvious from the beginning that you will be paying total $223 per year. Also, they do eventually tell you about the 25% credit increase fee, but not when they offer it. You have to call the company, go through the process, and right before they give it to you they tell you there is a fee. Maybe they changed it by now, but when I received the offer, they did not tell me about the fee up front. After jumping through all the hoops, when I heard that, I declined it, and was annoyed with the bait and switch and for my time being wasted. Any time I have had to call in with questions, or to find out information, they were very friendly and helpful and went out of the way to help me. I recommend them and we would use them again. Started good. Ended bad when representative applied funds to wrong account and caused me significant problems with fees and bounced checks. Branch manager refused to credit fees because wanted me to sign up for expensive overdraft protection, which was unnecessary. Then branch manager proceeded to tell me that the whole situation was really my fault because I didn't double check my deposit slip for the correct account number--as if that should be my responsibility. The error was finally corrected after hours on the phone and hold and callback during which time one of my loan (through them) payments were due and missed because the bank messed up the deposit. The loan's interest rate was increased... Ahhhhh/Errrrr! Closed and canceled my accounts and vowed to never do banking with them again. read more

I have been with this Bank for over 1 year and it is absolutely horrific! The only times I have decided to call customer service they are extremely rude and talk over you as you're trying to ask a question assuming that they already know what you are going to ask before you even finish your sentence. I have NEVER experienced such awful Customer Service in my life! To top it off, I wanted to file a complaint online and they don't even have an option online to make a complaint. I would have to call Customer Service back, which I did and I was transferred to another Customer Service representative. I mean come on, if that doesn't prove how much they don't care about their customers then what does. If you pay with a debit card you'll get it cleared within one business day but if you pay with check it would take 4 weeks. How backed up are these people that it takes 4 weeks to process a check that should be processed within 3-5 business days. read more
