I've reviewed this bank before. Wanted to add more comments. This branch is still by far the worst Citibank or bank in the US.
My suggestion is don't bank with Citi. They took their customers for granted.
Between late November 2021 through June 2022, I continuously received "threat" emails, phone calls, and mails from Citi's KYC department (KYC stands for know your customer. I changed it to "Kill Your Customer"), about missing meeting their requirements for information provided. Three times they threatened me if I did not provide, they could shut my account. When I reviewed the forms they wanted me to fill out, they have all these information already, I've been banking with Citi for more than 10 years. I did not understand why all of a sudden, they wanted this information. They did not answer my questions, just simply demanded it. I refused and they made things even more difficult for me with bankers giving me attitudes, not willing to help, and still sent me to their toll-free number. This location adds NO value.
I told them the money in my account is my hard-earned money, they have no right to shut it down just to force me to provide information, especially what they asked are information they already know and have, it's redundant.
Martha Ramirez and Lihuan Liu were two bankers that handled my cases and wasn't able to resolve. That's still NOT include agents I spoke with via Citi's toll-free number.
This Citibank provides no privacy, every office is open space, when providing personal confidential information, everyone in the office hears it. And the bankers there did not feel it's inappropriate when I provided the feedback.
Why bank with a bank that doesn't listen, take your business for granted, make you feel like you are begging them when issues like this need to be solved, especially it came from their side? doesn't own up its responsibility, and send threats mails, emails, and phone calls to ask you for information or else it will shut down your account?
Finally, Citibank is not competitive in their rates and prices, etc even though they have locations in many countries. I have done a comparison for exchange USD to local currency in multiple countries, when inquiring Citibank in these countries, their exchange rates are not competitive.
Go with other Wells Fargo or Bank of America.
Chase I also don't recommend, they are like Citi, doesn't seem to take customer privacy and data seriously. read more
