I've been with Citi since I was a teenager. My first bank account is still with Citi. Citi has been nothing but accommodating since I first opened my account, many years ago. Below is my five point review on the Citibank branch located at 7501 3rd Avenue:
Food Quality: N/A out of 5
Staff Service: 4.0 out of 5
Timeliness: 2.5 out of 5
Atmosphere: 4.0 out of 5
Cleanliness: 4.0 out of 5
ISSUES====I cannot comment on opening an account at this location, or dealing with anyone who works here other than the tellers at the window. I went to this Citibank location a few days ago and had the pleasure of walking up to Maureen Calabrese's window. Before I walked up to her, she was rude and loud to the person before me, and when I came up to her window, she "created" a false rule that she claimed was Citibanks. How do I know that it's false? I asked a manager as I was walking out, and they told me that it's not true, and they in turn offered to help me.
I won't get into specifics, because it isn't important. The idea here is to get her name out, so that you can prepare yourself with thick skin when you go up to her window. That's all I'm looking to accomplish. I hope enough people know to keep a look out for her so that Citibank can put her on notice. Some one-on-one roleplaying scenarios may do the trick.
Separate to that, I have to say one thing. No one likes to be sold. No one likes to be sold when it comes to a bank. No one likes to be asked a few questions about your credit history when they are trying to do a transaction and leave. Banks are errands. Citi knows this, so they adjust their customer service accordingly to make the experience "fun". Depending on who you are, you may dislike getting sold something, but you may like cleavage. Since I've been a teenager, I've seen way too much cleavage in my face at a Citibank window (thank god Maureen Calabrese hasn't joined in on the trend) that I don't want to see. I am not that easy. I've been going to this branch for years, and my favorite has to be the all-encompassing fake blonde with the star of david necklace right in her cleavage crack. How many conversations did that start? Citibank Cleavage in my face is usually followed by asking me if I want to sign up for a credit card, or a mortgage, or the "your account has the minimum requirements for a gold account" or whatever. This probably isn't listed in a Citibank employee handbook, but I've got to say to Citi that they need to be ashamed to let this happen. I get it, tits and ass sells to neckbeards with combovers. You need to put food on your table. Some of us are smart enough to know that the cleavage and flirting stops after the customer signs on the dotted line. Have some self respect, ladies.
MY OVERALL FINAL OPINION====Whenever I walk into this branch, I am greeted with a hello. The branch is clean. The people inside are generally nice. The ATM's always are in order. I'm always given a clear and concise answer to a question, and if someone can't answer it, they don't hesitate to get someone else to help me. I don't really need anything else with a bank.
I cannot blame Citibank for one employee, so I graded fairly. read more
