I loved this bank until they closed all my accounts with a two-day UPS notice and did not give me any reason. I went to the bank, and even the officer couldn't tell me the reason or help me. All of the computer screens face the windows. You could walk by outside and get the information on the screens with little effort. This is the dumbest thing I have ever seen in a bank. I'm tempted to read a social security number off the screen, walk into the branch and repeat it to the person typing away on the computer. Very poor planning. read more

Shame on TD Bank for screwing up a check deposit due to a fault with their ATM on Dec 22, and keeping us in limbo at least until today and probably all weekend with no money in our accounts because they refuse to issue a credit while they investigate their own mistake. Big and clean bank with great hours. I'm beyond annoyed that on a Saturday there is ONE teller!!! There are usually long lines even during the week so be prepared to wait. Previously I've had issues with my card not being ready on the day they told me to pick it up- and after 2 visits being told that they only MAIL the cards. I like TD bank overall. I mean, let's be honest: a bank is a bank and pretty much all of them will find some way to screw you over, sooner or later. Thankfully TD bank keeps that to a minimum. I like the free lollipops, and I especially like how they are all cherry flavored, even though they are purple and green. I have always had friendly service, but I do feel like they seem to be having computer issues or something every time I go in which causes a huge line. I wished I reviewed the comments for this branch before I actually visited today. I was recommended by my close friend that TD is convenient and great so I decided to go to this branch since I was nearby. I thought that I should deal with a small bank for my starting business--I was so wrong. From the moment I get in, it wasn't too great, I had to wait at a place where there are many staffs over customers... I had to open a corp account so I had to wait and speak with a bank teller by the desk. When I finally spoke to the rep, she was fine at first but I can clearly tell that she doesn't really have much experience dealing with opening business accounts. On the website, it states that if you don't have a copy of the Certificate of Incorporation, you can fill out their printable form, which I filled out and had my seal ready. I had the paperwork needed and I'm already registered in the state database. I just can't believe to hear that the rep didn't want me to open a business checking account with TD. Don't you want my business in this recession? She told me that the instruction for the company's website was wrong when in fact, I called the downtown Brooklyn branch few days ago and they said I had the necessary paperwork. She even told me to go open my account elsewhere. lol. Another note, I have a personal banking account with another bank (a big bank) contacted me and begged me to open a business account with them few hours before I went to TD. This bank probably found my info through the state database since I never told them about my business. This is one of the worst TD branches. There are always long lines and there always seem to be people who could e helping behind the counter who apparently cannot for some reason. Add to this that I've encountered major hostility and rudeness on several occasions by some of the tellers. I tried to avoid this place as much as possible but it's one of the closest to my place (though really not all that close). The only thing that keeps the place from a one star rating is the fact that I was assisted by one of the managers once to resolve some serious problems related to my account and she was extremely professional and gracious. My prior comments about TD were based on my experience with the local branch for basic banking services. However, I recently took out a mortgage and though the rate was excellent, everything else was not. During the process we were given incorrect information, they repeatedly misplaced documents we faxed to them, and deadlines were continually missed. This was a simple mortgage for less than 200K, yet we were not even given our final closing costs until 2 hours before the closing appointment. The process took almost 4 months and even now that the mortgage is in effect, problems continue. We had submitted papers to have the payments automatically deducted from our account and even that simple procedure has been screwed up. If you only need basic banking, TD is great but if you need anything beyond "cash in, cash out" go elsewhere. read more

First off Commerce is now TD. I only come here to trade $20 for rolls of quarters for my laundry; so I suppose harsh criticism is not the same coming from me as it is a full fledged customer. There is ALWAYS a huge line no matter what time of day it is and there always seem to be 4-5 tellers who aren't doing anything to make the line progress. A very dog friendly bank, one of the tellers saw that there was a dog going to be tied up and ran to the owner saying they can bring the dog in. They also have doggie treats for the dogs and also don't mind giving lots of belly rubs to anyone's dog. I tested it out to see if this is all the time and with the other employees they didn't mind having dogs come in. The employees are all really nice and I was waiting for an hour and gave me snacks and complimentary drinks. I usually go to another bank close by my apt but I will make the 30 min commute because this place is great ! read more

Completely disappointed at the service in this particular branch. tried to apply for a checking account, and was denied twice, because my bills used as proof of address, weren't up to date (it was march, and the bills were from dec-jan). I came back the second time and printed my bills from the online website of my cable tv site, which according to the horrid account manager, who was wearing way too much make-up for her own good, wasn't good enough. This branch, in particular, is a pretty sorry excuse for a business. Are all of the employees out to lunch or something? Are they not allowed coffee? I applied for a loan a week and a half ago, was told I would hear back from someone at the branch in 2 business days. Nothing. Called yesterday afternoon to inquire about this, was told they would call me back. Nothing. Don't make promises about calls you can't keep, TD. And, tellers, if the person in front of me has to give you their SS# on a piece of paper, and you leave that paper on your counter so that I can see it long enough to memorize it, that does not make me think you're on top of the whole protecting-your-customer's-identity thing. On a Sunday, Stephen got me a new ATM card in two minutes -- he was helpful, quick, sympathetic, totally competent. When I realized that something more needed changing, I saw Tynita on Monday. She handled everything beautifully, including dealing with the internals involving my new card not being posted in some part of the system yet. I was in here today and had a really nice experience. Yes, the line was a bit long, but that's to be expected. The staff has always been very nice and thanks people for waiting. Today, a man named Gary was greeting/directing people as they came in. He was incredibly friendly and professional; was kind of nice to be engaged in a quick conversation instead of scrolling through my cell phone while waiting on a line. The fact that they have a parking lot is also extremely helpful in this area when trying to run this type of errand! read more

I was at this TD branch today. I was there to make a withdrawal but also brought a LOT of change that my wife had rolled into many coin wrappers so that I can deposit it into our account. I'm not kidding. It was a lot of coins (it totaled close to $500) and it was heavy. My initial hope when entering the bank was that the teller be ok with me bringing in so much change. I know it's their job to handle it, but I've had my share of bad customer service and poor attitudes from folks at other establishments. The person who helped me today was a young guy named Tony. This guy was a professional from beginning to end. He was warm and friendly, extremely helpful and engaging. His supervisor, Jessica, was also wonderful. She greeted me with a big smile and I noticed she was super helpful to everyone who was there. These two are an asset to TD bank. I will make sure to highly recommend them and this branch to our other Park Slope friends. read more

Opened a small business account here a few weeks ago because I read that TD Bank has the best ratings for small businesses in the northeast. I am regretting my decision so far. They stress being a "neighborhood" bank and appear casual and relaxed, which is nice. But someone needs to remind them that they are still a bank. I've only experienced long, slow lines, and very few employees actually working (though perhaps they're hiding in the back?) Plus, I'm still waiting on a return call from the bank manager, it's been 3 days now, who apparently is the only one who can address a $35 overdraft fee charged as a result of her own miscommunication when setting up my account. And BTW - $35 overdraft fee? Really???? Just left another message, wish me luck! read more

My husband and I went to TD bank last week to open a business account. The associate who helped us, Kenneth, was absolutely knowledgeable, courteous, and patient with our many questions. He set up our account quickly and we were on our way. Today I called the branch's customer service twice with some questions and immediately got to speak with an associate, and both associates I spoke to were very professional and helpful. I'm sorry to say that this branch has gone downhill. I lived on 5th ave & loved the bank hours & the fact that i could go in & never have to wait longer than 5-7 minutes to see a teller. I moved closer to the park but kept my account at commerce ( even though there are several banks closer to my new home) because of the wonderful service. Since the T.D takeover i have waited in line for up to 20 minutes to make a deposit & the overall service is sub par. Will probably be doing my banking elsewhere. read more
