Overall this location is a pretty standard dollar store, with everything I saw labeled between $1 and $1.25. The space is clean and well organized. They have lots of inventory and the store is on the large size. I liked the kids board books in the Halloween section and really everything in that section of the store. I ended up getting some green acrylic paint for some crafts I'm currently working on. Checkout was quick and the store clerk was friendly. Our trip to this spot was pretty average, but good enough that I will probably end up back to this location sooner than later. The combo store concept is definitely odd, but the execution is spot on and makes for a decent experience.

Whereas this store was clean, there were a lot of empty shelf spaces (primarily in the area to your right when you first walk in), and the workers did not do a good job of greeting customers as they come in. As the Family Dollar by me greets every customer when they walk in the door, I was surprised that they did not do so here. In addition, the two employees that were there were not wearing anything that would identify them as workers so I thought they were customers until we checked out and I saw them at the registers (the gentleman that checked us out was friendly, the other person was a bit more standoffish). Again, this was surprising because near me, the Family Dollar and Family Tree workers are easily identifiable. Anyhow, though there were a lot of empty space near the front, in the back, that is a different story. It's weird: the Dollar Tree section was pretty much all over the place, but the Family Dollar section was nicely clean, products faced, and everything was easy to find. It's like the store has an identity crisis. All in all, I am not saying we would not go back (because we will), but I think the Dollar Tree section should be a bit more presentable. Not the best location, but not the worst, either. SHES NOT FRIENDLY NOT HELPFUL AND NOT A GOOD EMPLOYEE ALTHOUGH I BELIEVE SHES DOING HER BEST. ALL OTHER EMPLOYEES ARE WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM A RETAIL STORE OF THIS KIND HOWEVER THERE ARE 2 employees one male one younger female with curly hair and light skin who is an assistant manager that does a great job. I took my mom there to get a new phone last week. At first I was dreading it already anticipating…read morethat we would be standing in line waiting for a rep to help us. Boy was I wrong. We walked in mid afternoon and we were the only ones there. She just needed a new flip phone as her old one was obsolete and both reps were able to help us out. Very grateful for their patience as the phone was in my dad's name and since he passed away recently we had no idea what the pin number was, etc. They were able to get this info, order her a new phone, and it was in less than 2 days. We picked it up a few days later and again super impressed with the service. They activated it, made sure calls came in and out on it, and made sure she was comfortable with it. What a great experience.

It's absolutely amazing how much stuff they have in this store. They make keys. I think they cut glass or plexiglass. It's your local hardware store with a friendly staff that never makes you feel like they don't have time to help you find what you are looking for.

I have been driving past this store for quite a while. I normally do business at the truck stop…read morenext door. This evening, I completed my workday and thought I might take a little walk. I headed toward the road and came upon this Family Dollar store. Realizing I didn't a family, but I *did* have a dollar in my pocket, I figured I could pay the admission fee and take a look around inside. As luck would have it, there was nobody at the door to take my money, so I kinda snuck in, hoping nobody would notice. Just so I wouldn't get caught and thrown out by some burly bouncer, I headed to a back aisle and started shopping. The first thing I noticed was their prices were very good. The shelves were nicely stocked, the store was very clean and everything was orderly. If you read my tip, you might surmise that I was looking for some window cleaner. And you might be right. I was able to save almost $6.50 over the price I saw next door at the truck stop. At that rate, if I buy one bottle each day, I'll save nearly $50 a week! This place is gonna make me rich! Now here's the interesting part:. Unlike Sam's Club or Costco or any of those other warehouse clubs, you don't need a membership to cash in on great deals like this. Just whip it out of your pants and pay with the long green. Pleasant staff when I visited.

I am looking forward to making Michael's a regular place I visit for supplies I'll use for projects. I was checking out and and my cashier began to bag my items, I took out my reusable bag and politely said (with a smile) "I actually don't need a bag, I brought my own :)" the cashier then took the plastic bag and put it in the bag I brought, defeating the purpose of me bringing my own bag, so I politely said "oh just save that one for the next customer!" She then took the plastic bag that my items were originally going to be bagged in AND THREW IT AWAY. It felt quite disrespectful and even spiteful. We live in a time where employers should communicate with their employees that some consumers try not to waste plastic and that needs to be respected. It is my personal choice to be mindful of my plastic use and I would like to not have that choice taken from me.
