12/28/2016 - SIMPLY AMAZING!!! The best Cirque du Soleil show I have ever seen thanks to YELP. It was a stunning set, and a beautiful Big Top. The show was just Incredible. Nothing like you've seen before. I was in awed of all the performers, including the singers and band. Everything just synced. I had a favorite performance, then the next one would perform then that was my favorite...it was like that the entire show. Just one great act after another. They just stepped it up a 100 notches!. There is so much going on in the stage at once, that your eyes just can't believe what is happening. The contortionists and aerial acrobat couple blew me away! If you have ever seen a Cirque show...scratch it, this is like I said... NOTHING you've seen before. It is a MUST SEE! Parking was $25 with SunPass or $30 if you paid cash or credit. Also, the drinks and food are WAY Overpriced! Take a jacket if you tend to get cold like me. It was a bit chilly in there.

World class entertainment. I have seen Love and Zumanity in Las Vegas and this is equally as good if not better. The music was fabulous, the costumes were Devine and the acts were unbelievable!!! Fabulous transitions and every seat is great. I didn't go as the Elite event but I did purchase tickets at a discount on line through Yelp. A definite must see! Thanks Yelp for the discounts. If I hadn't seen it in Yelp, I wouldn't have gone. It would have been a shame to miss this one.

I won a pair of tickets to attend this event thanks to Yelp! I've always heard about Cirque Du Soleil but I've never had the chance to attend one and I'm so glad to be able to experience this last night. The location was easy to find and parking was directed nicely by the employees. There were tons of people going to enjoy this spectacular show. If you have a sun pass, it's $25 to park; otherwise, it is $30 for cash or credit. We saw the large tent from afar and walked on over. The doors opened at 7:15 but the show started at 8. Upon entering the tent, there were plenty of seats around the stage. I think every seat, you'll have a good view unless you're really short. The theme of the event reminded me of the steam punk style with the gears throughout the ceiling and the early 1900 style costumes the performers were wearing. Another cool thing, we got to sit next to Reixa, Brent, and Sara! As the show started, the audience was in complete awe. From the talented musicians and singer to the acrobatic performers, contortionists, trampolinists, the cute little woman (reminded me of the show American Horror Story-Circus), the balancer, the yo yo-ist, the woman on the bike, the juggler; my eyes were glued on the performers the whole time. They were immensely talented words cannot describe the magic I felt. I'm sure the audience felt the same way with all the ooh's, ahh's, and clapping. Some of the performers went into the crowd. They had hand puppeteers too. Everything about the show was amazing! A big kudos to the performers because I could never do what they do physically. Each costume, float, piece on the stage looked like it took a lot of time and effort to complete. The person who created this was very talented and creative. I think they mentioned the show was sponsored by Mexico. To conclude this, this was the best show I've ever seen! I'm looking forward to attending more of these when they do come around. I'm not sure why I waited so long to attend one.

Kurios no more! Thanks so much Candice and Yelp! You always rock our world! Imagine a backstage sneak peak into this show! I'm over the moon! So excited for this part more than the show. NOT! The show itself was unique. It's not what I expected from a Cirque caliber. A new friend cleared the air for me yesterday by saying that they could've added a lit up Yoyo. I bet from afar that Yoyo was invisible. It's still great. The acrobatics were simply outstanding. The set still made me think "how did they do that"? The little 49 lbs woman was also a sight to behold. But her voice disturbed me. Believe it or not one of my favorites was the Invisible Circus because it was too funny! This is the same guy who mimicked a cat so well! It was hilarious! Both acts are worth talking about. This is the only show that I find that I could actually suggest a thing or two as far as improving a few aspects. It lacked that shock and awe effect that I highly anticipate having seen about seven different ones in the past. Having seen the backstage and getting some questions answered I still think no matter how much these performers are getting paid it's still not enough. It's definitely very hard work. It takes two days to set up a show like this and seven days to break apart with 56(?) trucks to load the entire thing. So this is definitely still a five star review but honestly written for the show creator. After all I think they want to know the truth. Thank you so much for giving us Yelpers the chance to see your inner workings and for being in the Bay Area. I love your passion for inventing new things for us mere mortals to enjoy!!

Great show!! I've seen a couple Cirque du Soleil shows in Vegas (O, Zumanity) and I'm a fan! Located in Lot 1 of Dodger Stadium, you got to use the entrance on Elysian Park since the tents are set up right there. There isn't really a bad seat in the house but I'd suggest sitting a little closer to the middle sections if you want the "optimal" view. There are some pillars to assist with the aerial stunts but I'm not sure if they impact any views in the back at all. The show is 2.5 hours, including a 25 min intermission. All of the stunts and acts were pretty entertaining. Some of them were just straight jaw-dropping. Most of the stunts will leave you mesmerized and a good amount of them were performed with minimal harnesses which add to the intrigue. My 2 favorites scenes were the handbalancing on chairs and the 3 performers contorting their body on a mechanical hand. Wow!!! The hand puppetry was pretty cool too. The live music was a treat and the sound was crisp. However, I thought some of the acts drew out too long, the wide netting/trampoline act in particular. Of course you're going to be overpaying for concessions but what I thought to be the biggest rip off of all is the parking...it's $25!!! Ridiculous. Luckily, we managed to find a spot along Elysian Park Ave and all we had to do was walk up the hill to Lot 1. Saved ourselves $25 to spend on snacks/drinks.

What a fantastic show! As to be expected of Cirque du Soleil's many shows, Kurios did not disappoint! It was very entertaining from start to finish!! The concept and the acts, the costumes and performers - I have nothing but good words to say about this particular Cirque show! Though all acts were amazing, there are a few acts that stood out for me personally, The invisible circus, the mirrored dinner - seeing double, the trampoline act and the fish guys :), the show was truly memorable and enjoyable! Overall, if you have time and have the chance to see Kurios, go ahead and grab your ticket! It is one show you won't regret and won't forget for a very long time! Enjoy!

Kurios must be heavily inspired by HBO's dustbowl freakshow Carnivale, which I may have been the only fan to watch season after season, from begining to end. Kurios has that depression era traveling circus feel --more little people and side-show freaks than main stage, but with the same beautiful acrobatics, particularly in the second act that you've come to love and expect in a Cirque show. Highlights include shape contortionists, about the smallest little lady (at first I was certain there must be mirrors) you've likely ever seen, terrific steampunk sets and costumes, and the same magic leaping and graceful flying across the stage to audience gasps, that you've come to expect from Cirque Du Soleil. Cirque is now 30 years old (time zips by!) and about the most consistently magical stage circus in modern memory. I have to say I go to the show now more frightened than I had in the past (given some performer tragedies on stage in the last few years) but glad to see the new use of safety ropes that actually reduce my fear factor and heighten my overall enjoyment (after all no one wants to see anyone hurt.) The $12 flat beer (Anchor Steam, ugh) and $12 terrible wine pours aside, you will find the snacks and treats are overpriced and not so terrific, but at least you will not starve if you bring your wallet. Still, perhaps eat and drink before arriving. The plot of Kurios is more disjointed and confusing than most other Cirque productions I've seen, but the main themes are clear and as always, performances are breathtaking. The production, transfixing.

Cirque du soleil is always amazing whether it's the permanent or traveling shows. This is the second traveling one I've seen and it did not disappoint. I splurged a little this time and got pretty awesome seats right next to the aisle. It's better to get seats where the aisle is because the chairs are actually quite tiny and you sit squished with the person next to you. It's understandable considering the size of the grand chapiteau. I love that every show has a theme and this one was pretty cool. Parking and entrance was smooth sailing and conducted very well. Bar and merchant stands had very friendly staff and ushers are everywhere to help you find your seat. The bathrooms are clean and great. Cirque never disappoints!

Cirque du Soleil - Kurios at Suffolk Downs in Boston 7/2016

Kurios is one of Cirque du Soleil's traveling shows, with a yellow and blue tent that surprisingly holds thousands. My first such show was OVO which had visited us in the Boston Seaport area back in 2010. As my inaugural Cirque experience, I was appropriately wowed by the trampoline act and other acts of physical talent far beyond my abilities. While Kurios is also certainly way beyond my abilities, I am no longer a Cirque du Soleil newbie, having since been spoiled by the grand staging of O and Ka in the land of glitz and glamour - Las Vegas. I am also quite familiar with similar acts from Chinese culture. So, I was just not as wowed. But that was just me. It was still entertaining to watch, and a terrific outing with my group. Refreshments are pricey here, so we saved our appetite for a nearby buffet afterwards. I also had no trouble bringing a water bottle in with me in my purse. Parking was $20 per vehicle, so carpooling is recommended. Their location at Suffolk Downs out in Revere, MA was T accessible at a walk of maybe 10-15 min. Seats were without armrests and you had to stand up to let folks pass by you. There was some kind of machinery going out behind my head up in the furthest row from the stage, which was annoying, but the music from the performance was loud enough to drown most of it out. They seemed to have these red cushions available for those who needed a bit of a lift to better enjoy the show, and some seats were handicap accessible, as were some of the luxury portapotties. Some acts were better to watch from a distance, so the best seats aren't necessarily in the front row. With a 5pm showtime and a 25 min intermission, Kurios finished at 7:15pm - just in time for dinner!

ATHLETICISM AT ITS BEST! Candice G., (our awesome Community Manager), fellow South Bay Yelpers, my husband and I, were so fortunate to enjoy Cirque du Soleil's, Kurios, all courtesy of Yelp. This is especially true since once they finish their sojourn in San Francisco, they will be moving on to Seattle, instead of setting up tent in San Jose, as they did last year with Amaluna, and Totem the year prior. It is certainly a special treat seeing them perform every year in the Bay Area. One may be "Kurios" about all the hype surrounding Cirque and its talented cast of performers. The hype is all valid, as Cirque releases well choreographed shows with performers who are true athletes. What other venue can boast the most women with six-packs and BMI's less than an Olympic gymnast? The show was amazing! Situated in their portable Cirque tent, it's impressive how cozy the seating is and how every seat in the "house" is a great seat. I've always appreciated Cirque's attempt and success of creating and choreographing shows combining unsurpassed acrobatics, agility, creativity, flawlessness and humor, all packaged in a colorful, exotic, fun, mysterious and fascinating assemblage! Simply...amazing! We were also treated to an exclusive back stage tour, showing their unique props, practice equipment, costumes and a glance at some of the awe inspiring performers. I love every facet of Cirque's productions and have been so fortunate to see six Cirque du Soleil shows to date, with the seventh coming very soon, as we have tickets to see the Michael Jackson show in Las Vegas! Each show holds to their basic elements, but they're each unique in every way, from the grandiose O, risqué Zumanity, and vibrant musicals such as The Beatles: Love. Of course, the memories of the evening are all etched in our minds forever. However, to reinforce those images, we purchased a special keepsake bundle consisting of: a show program, music CD and a nicely decorated canvas tote in which to carry everything. Cirque, we're patiently awaiting your next creation! Until next time!

I was one of the lucky few to win Kurios tickets and a backstage tour from Yelp and Candice G.(the South Bay's fab Community Manager). I would best describe Kurios as a Steampunk themed mystical circus with extraordinary feats of physical agility and prowess in a highly visually stimulating package of aesthetics and choreography. I don't want to give away too much detail of the acts contained in the show so I'm going to throw you some teasers: Contortionists that stack it up, invisible circus, sky high bouncing, and flinging flips. One minor and immediate quip I had was during the transition to one of the acts, the yo-yo master was doing his thing with a yo yo that should have been lit or at least a much brighter color, other than white. Kurios enough? If you're a fan of the Cirque shows, Kurios suitably falls into a long line of wonderfully entertaining, visually sleek, new age circus shows that combine the physical, and magical aspects of humanity.

Love, love the performance and acts of this circus themed show, Kurios was definitely for the curious ones. The space was great, the staff were friendly and helpful and the performers were superb at what they did. Each act kept me interested and captivated in what was occurring. Never a dull moment when watching a Cirque du Soleil show. Bravo!

Did not disappoint. Thanks to Yelp, I scored free tickets to see this show along with back stage passes. There were a total of 12 of us lucky winners who got in and every single one of us showed on the day the worst storm hit SF since 2005. Doesn't this prove how dedicated South Bay Yelpers are? Since I didn't own a raft, we elected to ride Caltrains to SF from Mountain View which was extremely convenient since you only have a walk a short distance to the tent by AT&T park. You can also save the $25 parking fee although there didn't seem to be a shortage of street parking this day because of the extreme weather. Riding public transit to the city is usually the safest and stress-free way into the city. Kurios is about a mad scientist who defies the laws of physics, visuals, and perspectives. You'll see this ridiculous aviator who can balance on 3 different axis of movement on top of a small board under his feet, the invisible circus, guys that defeat gravity of this enormous acro net, 4 beautiful (biting my tongue) contortionists that bend their (hot little) bodies into some sexy poses, and then there's Bobby L's favorite--the miniature lady that was the size of a doll. At first I thought she was a prop who was remote controlled, but then realized she was real! She was freakishly tiny but at the same time perfect for the role she was casted for. The show did a spectacular job of utilizing the entire height of the tent and incorporating the anti-gravity illusion above the stage. As impressive as the show is, you REALLY get a better appreciation for the show and its performers after getting a backstage tour. We got to see and touch the props used during the show along with the elaborate costuming, makeup, warm-up, and chill areas of the performers. So amazing that all the stuff that makes up this spectacular show fits in 46 semis and gets transported to the next city! This is probably equivalent to putting those damn Christmas lights back in the box every year. How is it even possible? Just Kurios...

Can we take pictures of the show?

No. Only before the actual show starts and during the intermission.

Is it hot in this tent? Taking a 5 and 3 year old and wanted to know how to dress them.

How long does the show last?

About 2 hours with a 20 minute intermission.

We are taking a student group and I need to let them know what they should wear. What type of dress should we wear to the show in Houston?

It's casual. Jeans and a shirt /a summer dress will be fine. Wear what u would wear to the movies. :)

Do the seats have backs or are they like bleachers?

    The seats have backs.

I saw this gem on good ole Groupon for approximately $88 for four tickets and immediately felt led to purchase them (great decision).
