I Was excited and wanting some candy and it looked pretty colorful from the outside…read more However, upon entering I felt as if I was in a ghost town. The employee was sitting down behind the counter just ignoring everyone who came in so quite literally the store was not being monitored and a few other customers mentioned how it would be easy to take. I wanted some gummies and went over to their selection but you can tell it is not maintained. Lots of stale gummies and or empty bins. It was rather disappointing. Once I was ready I was at the counter for about 12 minutes and I kept looking at the employee to see if they would come over. Eventually I said excuse me and he got up very annoyed. Didn't even greet me, tons of attitude and mumbled my total so low I couldn't hear it and had to rely on the screen for my price. I said thank you and he just ignored me and went back to his seat to completely ignore the other customers. It is pretty unfortunate that this location has such awful service.

Lolli and Pops, a store that markets itself as a whimsical haven for candy lovers, has proven to be…read moreanything but sweet when it comes to basic customer service and inclusivity. My recent experience on a Sunday evening (5:22 PM, to be exact) was not just disappointing--it was a glaring example of systemic indifference and selective engagement that has no place in retail, let alone a family-friendly establishment. From the moment my excited little one walked in--freeing herself from her stroller with the innocent enthusiasm only a child can muster--to the moment she proudly selected her lollipop and approached the counter, not a single employee could muster a "Hello," "How are you?" or even a perfunctory "Did you find everything okay?" Instead, the interaction was reduced to a robotic price quote, dead silence, then back to their conversation. No warmth, no acknowledgment, no effort. If the staff's exhaustion at the end of a weekend shift was the issue, then management needs to reevaluate scheduling or hire employees who understand that customer service is the bare minimum in retail. What makes this experience even more egregious is that this wasn't an isolated incident. On multiple occasions, I've noticed a pattern--certain customers are greeted warmly, while others (particularly those who look like me) are met with cold indifference. A simple "Hello" should not be a privilege; it should be standard. If your staff lacks the emotional intelligence to treat all patrons with equal respect, then your establishment has failed at its most fundamental duty. The most heartbreaking part? Watching my little one's bright-eyed anticipation wither into confusion when her simple joy was met with blank stares. Children remember these moments. They internalize them. And while she may not fully grasp the nuances of poor service or discrimination, I do--and I refuse to spend my money in a place that allows such energy to thrive. In 2025, consumers have endless options--and even more platforms to voice their dissatisfaction. If your employees lack the personality (or basic decency) to engage with customers, they have no business working in retail. And if management turns a blind eye to discriminatory behavior, then they don't deserve patronage. To Lolli and Pops at Perimeter Mall: You've lost not just my future business, but the business of my network as well. My coins--and those of my vendors--will be spent elsewhere, with establishments that understand respect, inclusivity, and the bare minimum of hospitality. To Potential Customers: Spend wisely. Your money and your energy should go to businesses that value you--regardless of what you look like or what time you walk in. "A candy store that leaves a bitter taste."

The server was great, welcoming each person as they arrived and taking drink and starter orders almost immediately. I had the nonalcoholic Just Peachy cocktail which was bright, fruity, and had a spiciness from the ginger beer. The table shared some appetizers: the white truffle garlic bread, the arancini, and the zucca chips were all tasty and the portions were large enough for sharing. For an entree I chose the trottole chicken pesto. It came in a bowl and it was a little too dark in the dining room to see the components. However the dish was delicious and I ate all of it. I especially liked the crunchy pine nuts among the soft pasta and the flavorful pesto. I didn't really detect any chicken although I'm sure it was there; it just wasn't noticeable in the taste. I was too stuffed to have dessert this time, but next time I visit I want to try the Hazelnut Torta or the Salted Caramel Budino. This was a nice place for a book club meeting. There was plenty of space and it was not loud, so we could talk easily.

Instead it was mostly kale, cabbage, and squash for $16. When I mentioned this to our server, Alyssa, she went to ask the chef, who initially lied he couldn't do anything because the plates are pre-portioned. From the open kitchen, I could see the chef shake his head "no" and scoop mostly fregola with a couple Brussel sprouts into a bowl. When I told the server about my gluten intolerance, she said I wouldn't have to pay for the additional fregola the chef gave us. I appreciated that gesture, but the chef's visible attitude through the open kitchen concept made the experience disappointing and exhausting. He seems lazy and easily irritable. The pasta was good however!

Curious on what it is? Drop in and find out! I went with a Fruity Pebbles and a S'mores one. I'm enjoyed the fruity pebbles one quite a bit! It's tasted like a sugar cookie topped with icing and then topped with fruity pebbles. It was definitely on the sweet side, so I could only take a couple bites before feeling a bit sugar'd out. The S'mores one was decent and a bit unique - the base of the cookie is a graham cracker, and there's marshmallows baked into the cookie. Gourmet cookies also come at a bit of a gourmet price, with each cookie being about $3. I feel like Sweet Spot Cookies is a nice in between of Crumbl and Tiff's Treats/Insomnia - Crumbl is more creative with massive cookies, and Tiff's/Insomnia is more classic with straightforward flavors and normal cookie sizes

They probably had every cookie that you could literally think of from oatmeal raisin to s'mores to chocolate chip cookie without the chips to toffee chocolate whatever. The best part about it was that the cookies were super super soft. They were so soft, you literally picked them up and they would fall apart in your hand. I did feel like there was somewhat of a language barrier with the staff member and I almost felt like I was kind of nudged into getting more cookies than I really needed. When I told her what I wanted, she kinda urge me to get more and unfortunately, instead of being able to say no, it was almost like she didn't understand what I was saying so we ended up having to get the larger portion. But overall, I was really glad with the purchase because they lasted for almost a week and they still tasted really fresh even on the last day. Some of the cookies were a little bit sweeter than others, but obviously depending on what you got in the cookies that kinda gave you a determination of how sweet it might be.
