The venue is good: a gorgeous view of the lake and marina, high ceiling with a working air conditioner, nice tables, plenty of seating. The wooden dance floor is of an OK quality and is smallish (good for 6 couples or so, above this number leading gets interesting). The rest of the room is covered by the quite danceable carpet, so there was no issue of the dance space during my visit. My good dance shoes work well everywhere. The music is a standard ballroom mix (swing, waltz, and cha-cha will get you covered for 90% of the tunes), if you are a swing dancer like me, be prepared to sit out about half of the songs. The crowd is 20-30 dancers, with good skills, mostly of the retirement age. Lots of people know each other, but the atmosphere is very friendly. There are more follows than leads, many people dance as couples - bringing one's own partner is thus highly recommended, especially for the followers. Cookies and water bottles are available for free, but bringing your own water is advised, as there were no bottles left by the end of the dance. Logistics: parking is ample and free. The place is somewhat far away from the major thoroughfares. Entrance fee is $20. Overall: if you leave in the North County and have your own dance partner, definitely worth a 10-30 minutes drive.

Many lighting cues were missed and several times the house lights came up for no reason at all. Additionally there is no assigned seating so you have to line up early if you want a decent seat. To the production: The sets and costumes were fine. Everything else was not. This was billed as an adult production, yet most of the cast was high schoolers with little to no previous experience. One actor playing Mrs. Lovett was good. The rest ranged from passable to laughable. If it had been advertised as a high school or amateur production I would have understood, but paying $25/ticket I think I have the right to expect more. The cast needed to learn theater etiquette. I've never, even in a school production, seen cast members run out to the lobby during intermission to say hi to their friends. To cap it off, intermission ended with a couple of the cast members literally BEGGING for money. It was distasteful. I've read that other attendees actually LEFT at intermission. I probably would have as well, had I not been on a date. Finally, for some unexplained reason they dual cast the show, having most actors play a lead one night and ensemble the next. The only reason I can think of for doing this was so that everyone can feel good about themselves. That's fine if you're in an acting class, but shouldn't happen in a paid production. They really could have used the extra polish that having a single cast would have afforded them. I've read many other reviews that have indicated this is a fairly normal experience for this location. Given that they're under the auspices of Moonlight, I'm quite surprised. I won't be going back here again.

It has such a sweet small town vibe. Buy your tickets early if you really want to see the show because the venue is quite small. The hosts are incredibly friendly and funny. They offer free snacks and beverages during intermission. At the end of the show, the cast usually comes out and does a meet and greet.

Super laid-back, very Oceanside. You can wander through Artist Alley, check out local art, talk to artists, and just hang without feeling rushed. The drum circle is always a highlight, the energy is really fun. It's easy to make a night of it too since there are so many good restaurants nearby. Grab dinner, walk the art walk, maybe stop somewhere after. It runs May through September from 5 to 8pm, and it's free. Definitely worth checking out.

My husband and I love to browse and shop, getting to know the artists who show up on the First Friday Art Walk every month in Oceanside, California (North San Diego County). It's such a treat to support local creatives. In fact, after years of enjoying the event as customers, I ended up becoming a vendor, where I sell both my International bestselling books and my unique PAUA jewelry designs. This monthly event is a gem, and it keeps growing and getting better over the years. Highly recommended.

He insisted the adult men volunteers put envelopes in their pants and at one point held a handkerchief over one man's private parts and the handkerchief raised as if the man was aroused. This trick went on for several minutes implying what one man had in his pants was being transferred to the other man's "region". Again... remember this is in front of a room with children. I was so disturbed and felt terrible for the parents who spent lots of money (our 2 tickets were $90!) On this show only to have their children exposed to lewd suggestive magic. Deeply disturbed by this show and have reviewed the other locations of reviews where apparently this has gone on for way too long and they continue despite parents complaining. If you remove that part of the show heres my review of the rest- while Anthony and his team seem like nice people. This show was not good. There was a few tricks that were good but the majority weren't. Very expensive and unpleasant evening.

I have been attending Sohaila's belly dance classes on and off for the past few years. First time I…read moremet her I did not know she was a belly dancer but I was mesmerized by her beauty, she reminded me so much Brooke Shields. That was in Julian, I was having lunch with my lovely ex husband, at least 10 years ago, and she was there shiny and all smiles. All the heads turned to her, and same did mine, like the girl in The Exorcist...who is this glam woman and what is she doing in this country town? It happens that she was recording some promo for the town and she handed some business cards about her belly dancing classes. And then is how I got hooked up! I have taken several of her classes through the Poway adult community education (you can get those brochures at the public libraries or at home if you live in the area) and absolutely loved every single hour spent perfecting my shaking. And as Shakira sings, hips don't lie! Anybody can benefit from her classes, both if you are into learning the techniques per se or if you want to gain some body self-awareness and confidence. My body posture improved a lot and I also made friends in each of those classes as they tend to be big in number of attendees and is always fun. If you are not into online shopping for goodies you can use at the class (like those hip scarves with coins), you can also get them from Sohaila, as she usually travels to Egypt once or twice a year and bring belly dance paraphernalia to sell. Prices are reasonable and the prices for the belly dance via community classes are super affordable.

Belly Dancing is really fun!…read more I started my journey with Belly dancing last year learning at the YMCA from a student of Sohaila. My review is not for her classes since its a little far for me to travel for classes, although her studio is lovely and looks like a great place to take belly dancing. This review is about her belly dancing supplies. She has really beautiful coin skirts and scarves for belly dancers. You can make an appointment and go through the racks of really pretty dancing gear. Very relaxing too, it felt like visiting your cool belly dancer sisters big ass closet of belly dance wear, not like a store at all. Me and my friend were there for a few hours and there was no pressure to buy or be on our way. Very fun and if you want to belly dance a must see for your supplies.
