We bought some candy, browsed the entire store, and had our fortune told by Zoltar. There were two fortunate teller machines and one of them was working. The shop is cluttered and not that big, but they packed lots in there. This iconic store has been around for years and I was glad to finally get to visit. My four year old was partially frightened and partially fascinated.

So they get away with selling cheap crap and you don't realize it until it's too late. I spent alot of money in that store last night $94 to be exact and had planned to come back to spend more until I got home and realized how cheap the stuff was. I bought a sign that said it's eyes and the words on the sign were supposed to light up in red. The eyes do not light up and in fact, upon taking it apart to try and fix it ourselves since they refuse exchanges- we found there were not even lights for the eyes to light up! and half the sign did not light up because there wasn't enough light bulbs in the sign. They had little tiny lights on each side but the entire middle section of the wording "Haunted House" you couldn't even read because it wouldn't light up. I bought the bloody hand gel clings and they don't stay on the windows- I have three sets of those things and they fell right off the window within the same day I put them up. I didn't have time to evaluate the bigger items I bought- but I will tonight and may have another review tomorrow. I agree with the previous review- FOY's here I come! Unfortunately- what I feared is exactly what I thought- the room scene decorator (wallpaper of sorts) that I paid $20 for was crap as well. It's made of this slippery-vinyl-plastic material that does not hold tape and of course when you try to use tacks- it causes the paper to rip and tears off the wall. I was very disappointed in the quality of their merchandise- I would say avoid this store- I guess I need to go check out Spirit Halloween stores and see what they have. PRAY it's not the same merchandise! Total customer service fail! About a week ago my wife and I stopped in here and walked right in the…read morefront door, we were stopped by an employee and told that they hadn't opened yet. We came back on the date we were told they would be open and there was a sign on the door stating they wouldn't be open until the 6th of September, we commented on how it was the second time we had stopped here and no luck on trying to spend money with them. Tonight we just happened to be passing by and realized it was the 6th of Sept, so we stopped in for the 3rd time, this time there were customers coming out of the shop, we were in luck! Not so fast!! We were met at the door by a not so pleasant employee who informed us that this was their first day to be open and they closed at 8pm (it was 8:05), I told him it was our third time trying to shop here, he made no comment or apology and just shut the door and we heard it being locked as we walked away. We will take our business elsewhere, they must be doing pretty well to turn away customers like this. I would suggest going to Foy's in Fairborn or anywhere else besides this place, they obviously don't care about potential customers and apparently don't need to make sales.

I bought something for Halloween on Oct. 24th. I changed my mind and tried to return it on Oct…read more 28th. I was told Halloween merchandise could not be returned after Oct. 24. When I asked why there were no signs with this policy in the store. I was told "It is on the bottom of your receipt." This did me no good since I had purchased the item on the same day the no return policy started. I have no problem with the return policy only that customers are not informed of it before making a purchase. I will not be shopping here anymore.

I went in to buy balloons. They had what I wanted already made up - correct color etc with a sign…read moreon the ribbon that said "Take me home for 33.xx" - so picture it. Balloons - on ribbons - which went down to a weight all tied together. The sign was on the ribbons. I get up to the counter and he charges me an extra $2.50 for the weight. NO. The sign says "Take me home for 33.xx" The manager comes over and SMUGLY tells me that even though THEY tied it together - it doesn't mean the weights too. (with his way of looking at it maybe it was only for the ribbon and they should untie the balloons along with the weight). I told him it's BAIT and SWITCH - because - clearly it is. He just shrugged and walked away with a simpering smile on his face because he held all the cards - and what could I do about it? Party City doesn't have a way to contact them to complain. So whatever they want to do in the stores - you are at their mercy. Let me repeat that. Party City doesn't have a way to complain to corporate about what is happening in the stores. I have shopped there maybe 4 times a year for many years - but I'm done. Treat people nicely and with respect and DONT BAIT AND SWITCH.
