Wasn't impressed ... I was looking for dishware and kitchen items (they have almost nothing and what they did have wasn't worth the price). If you are looking for either clothing and/or books, then possibly this may be the place for you. The store is neat and clean and friendly but was hoping for a few more glassware items. :( read more

I literally do ALL of my shopping here. They've given me a place to empty my old closet, they have huge bins up front with free books (and their library usually has some pretty awesome stuff in it otherwise), staff is super nice, and they have great kitchen stuff and weird little odds and ends like scotch glasses and appliances. I also got my couch here for well under a hundred bucks, most the shoes are $4 and awesome, from TomToms to Nikes and some nice heels occasionally. This place is great because, unlike a lot of thrift stores, it has "young" clothes. It's in a hipster neighborhood where most the donations are coming from people in a similiar style and age. Ha, which is great because everything fits me and I don't have to go through 4992293728 XL suede blazers or super odd assortments of sweater vests to find somethin fancy. Cheers to circle thrift! I found some cool ass jeans here for $2.50, they were donated by Urban Outfitters, so yeh.. good thrift store solely on the fact that Urban donates to them. I like this one more than the South Philly one if you're looking for clothes but if you're looking for furniture the South Philly one would be better for you. read more

Every few weeks my girlfriend makes me come here so she can peruse the clothes. Of course the mens selection leaves little to be desired consisting mostly of ghetto t shirts and splooge stained work shirts. Thank god for the vhs and records. We made a deal....I go with her and in return she pays for any ridiculous finds I may stumble upon. Buck Owens records...the goonies on vhs...books on how to make vegetable art. A large chunk of my wardrobe comes from Circle Thrift, before and after their move. I don't think I've ever walked out empty handed and I've visited approximately 50 times. Clothing is priced by type- dresses are $5, sweaters $4, etc. etc. Certain colors are 1/2 off each week so check the tag color. Some stuff is $0.50 that week if it's the correct tag color (check the wall behind the register for that week's color sale). Lately I've been visiting weekly and I've obtained about fifteen new dresses to add to my growing collection. They also have a pretty sweet housewares/furniture department and you can score some really weird stuff. I once saw a metal "ham holder" for sale there. True story. read more

They have a different color tag a week discount. I initially went to find some toddler clothing. Got baby Gap, Carter, and Children's place, all for one dollar each! My boyfriend also scored a couple of name brand button downs for four dollars each including a Banana Republic tie. Only complaint would be I wish the household items were more organized. It was difficult for me to find this place at first because they moved and that confused me because my brain is very small. But with the help of google I found it and it became one of my favs in the city. The girls are always nice and happy to greet me. I don't always find something but I love to go and hunt around. It's a cute store. I always drop off stuff there too. And they always ask me if I want a receipt and I always say no. Around the holidays I bought four big rolls of wrapping paper for fifty cents a pop. What a deal. If you like thrift stores check this one out. read more

Maybe I'm spoiled by Impact Thrift, but this place was very disappointing. I even took the time to dig, but nothing. Everything struck me as way too worn and dirty. I will give a few more chances though. read more

I must say, I love Circle Thrift, both of them! the one in South Philly and the one on Frankford. They have all types of clothes there, from 30 years ago or right off the Urban Outfitters truck! The people are super nice too, which is always a plus. I even love their mission, at least I know my money is going to support a good cause! read more

I've been wanting to check out Circle Thrift forever. They have a pretty good clothing section, but you really have to dig. I'd recommend the housewares section; they have really cool sewing supplies, if you're into that (I got an awesome pair of fake-tortoise shell bag handles) and weird electronics. They are a little overpriced, but nowhere near Retrospect range. read more

I love thrifting but I can't say I fell in love with Circle Thrift. Perhaps my thrifting prowess was on empty that day or maybe the assortment was not up to par, either way I was underwhelmed by the "stuff to treasure" ratio. They're really bad about their pricing structure. You go up to the counter to pay for something to find out for this double triple or four times the price it was supposed to be. In the miscellaneous section stuff is all moved around and never put cut saucers together or sex you pay individually which means you overpay for the items. Found this to be a pretty average thrift store. I liked the layout and the decor but the selection wasn't overly impressive. Managed to find a cute dress though. I think it's worth a visit. The staff is very friendly but I didn't feel that it was anything out of the ordinary. read more

I like this a lot better than the one in the Newbold area. They have a lot more clothes to choose from, books, and other merchandise. I always seem to find something here when I browse, so this is a decent thrift shop in Fishtown. read more

While their clothing selection was average, they had a great book section! Organized, and plentiful. Great house wears and many many dish sets. Unique feature: a crafting section. I've never come across one of these before, and I was very surprised. read more

Circle Thrift is a business affiliated with MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) and Circle of Hope church in the Philadelphia area. Rave review from a thrifty traveler. Prices are great, 2 dollars for a sleeveless shirt and 25 cents for cards and great finds. I like to see the city through local eyes and this definitely gave me a taste of the re-use, renew, repurpose culture in this part of Philadelphia. I took the SEPTA train from Center City to Berks then walked E Norris to Frankford. Definitely worth the hike! Happy trails. read more

I suppose a consignment shop can only be as good as its donations, but this place was pretty underwhelming for me. Mostly junky clothing but good quality cheap stuff in the furniture section. The staff was kind of friendly? I'll go back again in the future to see if I'm still disappointed. read more

Never did very much thrift store purchasing but I must say this place is a great spot to get interesting things. I purchased like 20 mason jars for next to nothing that I was able to re-use and re-craft into all sorts of nice things! We even found a first edition book here once that we purchased for a dollar and found out to be worth close to about $500! We are going to hang onto said book but it's good to have and see if the value increases! I enjoy buying books here because theyre cheap and I get to keep them, all in good condition always. Home decorations are fun here too- you never know what you're going to find but chances are, it's going to be good and well worth it! The staff is SUPER friendly and accommodating- they are SUCH hard workers over there, you can tell...they have to sift through so much stuff and they do it all with a huge smile on their faces :) Kudos circle thrift! read more

i am very much into atmosphere, and i have to say the atmosphere changed so drastically when circle thrift recently changed locations. they used to feel cute and homey and i would want to slowly browse and sit but the new location feels like a cold warehouse. not a fun feeling at all. still, i love thrift store finds and this is still a place for those kinds of thrills. read more

If you're looking for a decent selection of housewares stuff, this is a good place. The staff is very nice and positive.

They have a fitting room. They accept credit cards. They run two sale colors everyday. They cycle through old stuff, so you don't go back to the same clothes week after week. If there is no price tag, they will price the item for immediate purchase. Staff is friendly. Music is good. This is all I can ask for in a thrift store- everything else is a gamble. I have the good and bad with Circle Thrift. Went in today looking for kids clothes. Picked up a toddlers Phillies jersey, plus a book. Love the prices, alot of womens stuff not alot of toddler/kid stuff. Fell in love with a tv stand and a dresser there, but upon further inspection both seem to have been corroded with roaches at some point. Doesn't look like they are anymore but it still would have been nice if they had atleast been wiped out. No way I was buying it like that. read more

After seeing this thrift store many times for years and always thinking to visit (and the promptly forgetting), I finally ventured to this place twice, two days in a row! I think the best thing about this particular thrift store is the fact that it seems that someone took their time actually selecting what to put out on the floor. Unlike most of the thrift stores I've visited that seem to put any and every donation they've ever received out on the sales floor, this one seems to have undergone some type of selection process when deciding what to sell. This is great for the casual thrifter as you don't have to sort through hundreds of items in poor condition. I guess with this store being so small, they have to be selective about what goes out on the floor. Another aspect that I really liked is the fact that all items of the same type are priced the same (except shoes). The only problem I had with this store is the fact that items are not sorted by size well. You can go to your size only, but you'd be missing out because I have found my size separated into the wrong section. This could be due to other shoppers, but as I visited relatively early in the day, I suspect that no one checks to re-sort items. Other than that, this is a great thrift store to check out, particularly if the hunt of thrifting doesn't exactly bring you immense joy, and you'd rather find items easily. read more
