Very good selection of items, has shoes, clothes, furniture, and other knick knacks and trickets. Very well curated and the employees are kind and helpful. For some reason the receipt says goodwill on it? Lol

Very interesting place where you can find some nice little things for a cheap price! I was very lucky to find a vintage tea cup for $4 to match with the rest of my tea set from Royal Albert! There are also old typer and vintage clothing items if you are into them! Will come back to test my luck again!

    Awesome vintage find!

Not going to write an essay here but Retrospect is one of my favorite vintage shops! This place is an actual vintage shop which means you wont be buying junk from 2000 but actual stuff that I would say is definitely pre-1990. Everything here is neat and even color coordinated! They sell clothing for both men and women and have a nice selection of boots and shoes. Not only are the clothes unique and one of a kind but they also have fun housewares, furniture, and nick-nacs you wont find anywhere. Prices are decent too!

PHILADELPHIA YOU DON'T KNOW HOW GOOD YOU HAVE IT. I vintage hunt frequently and this is one of the best vintage spots I've ever shopped in. Loves: + The women's clothing section is organized thoughtfully by color. If you walked in and needed a red dress, BOOM. Its honestly quite amazing that it isn't just a hot mess of random stuff clumped together. + Diversity of sizes. Not everything here is just a size small. + From head-to-toe, you could assemble an entire outfit here. Dress, shoes and accessories. This is a perfect place to visit with a friend, set a budget, and see what happens with an outfit for a night out. + The inventory wasn't just crappy secondhand items. They really had wearable art of unique items, excellent condition furs and leathers, and perfect sequins (as a sequin lover, sometimes sequin pieces will have missing gaps, but everything was perfect here). + Quirky items, like a bookcase full of vintage polaroids and cameras. + They have a spacious dressing room to try things on. I'm the photo queen and I regret not taking more photos here. I guess I was just smitten with all the treasures and too busy to snap. I bought a fabulous 80's dress with sequin polka dots for $15. It's one-of-a-kind fun. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in Philadelphia!

I'm sad to give Retrospect a 4 star - but they've changed and moved since I was there last. The old space was waaaay larger, yes maybe a little less organized but also larger selection - and had a MUCH larger housewares selection. I am one of those vintage book weirdos that loves to just sit on the floor and browse awesomeness. Piles of old craft books, piles childrens books, piles of cook books - kitsch heaven. And what seemed like endless boot options, darling dresses, fairly priced vintage tees. I fondly remember a charming pair of dishes with felt faces I let get away.. (see photo!) Don't get me wrong, they still have wonderful affordable treasures at Retrospect - and some books. But the quantity has gone down significantly, and with a place like a thrift store less options can mean a shorter and sometimes a disappointing trip to the store. This last time I was on the fence about a $4 vintage illustrated BBQ instruction cookbook, and a $12 black worn in leather belt with a snap for buckles. Shoulda got both If you are still thinking about it 4 days later. Price got in the way this time.

Bought some great camo pants from here for $14! Cool place with a great atmosphere. Almost purchased this bug eyed beauty but put her back at the last minute. Will be coming back!

This is the consignment shop from people who usually don't do consignment shopping. The real thrifty Philadelphians go elsewhere for better deals and a more unique selection. However, this is a good place to browse and you will definitely leave with one good thing. There is a pretty big selection (men's too) in an organized environment and it is never too packed.

Scored this vintage scale a while back!

Having grown up poor and being forced to wear way too big, tooth achingly ugly winter coats from Goodwill that I'd 'grow into,' hideous polyester button down shirts that a pimp wouldn't touch, scratchy, pill-y wool sweaters reeking of camphor, high water generic blue jeans and summer shorts I would not put on a dog in a clown show, I assiduously avoid things like this. V. was insistent that I would 'go wild' over this flea market because 'it won't be like anything else you've ever been to!!!' I had my doubts about that but you make concessions for friends. We paid our $3 entrance fee and strolled around. Most of the vendor tables had things that were of no interest to me; old playing cards, glassware that was (presumably) collectible, vintage tattoo flash, old silver plate and older, tarnished sterling silver tableware, racks of *shudder* vintage clothing and shoes, most of which had seen better days. There were some well curated tables of antique jewelry and antique beaded bags at very non-bargain prices and a few tables of what I can only call culled pieces from cabinets of curiosities-moth eaten taxidermied items and non-p.c. tourist trash. For the most part, the vendors we encountered were bored seeming or down right rude. The people watching was far better than anything for sale. After 2 hours here, V. bought a very large, ornate dusty rose colored tassel. I asked what she planned to do with it. Her response? 'Do you want it, Warren?' Uhh-that would be NO. I bought nothing. V. wanted to take another spin around the place so I opted to go out to her car to sit and read, telling her to take her time. Another 2 hours passed. She returned empty handed, other than the tassel, to the car. Would I go back? Nope. Should you go if the flea market opens again? It's $3 and maybe an hour or 2 out of your life. You could spend that time and money in worse ways.

HIGH volume of interesting pieces, all artfully arranged. It feels like you've walked into the closet of the coolest chick you know (or dude-- they've got men's clothing to and a limited selection of kids stuff). Owner has an amazing eye for the special and unusual. She is supa sharp, friendly and FLY, toting both a cool life story & of how the store came to be. Chatting with her and her staff through my visit made for a fun shopping experience. Aw they got some sweet lil' puppies in dere too. Lovin' that. All the clothing I inspected- I am a shopper who dallies- was in impeccably good condition. I am not normally the type to blow a lot of dough in one place but I developed romantic relationships with several items and, even after strategically leaving the store to spend the afternoon thinking over whether or not I REALLY wanted them, I returned because turns out I REALLY REALLY DID. At this vintage boutique, the quality and one-of-a-kind nature of the piece comprises the price, which, though not cheap, is worth it if you are the type that cares for your clothes properly. You know what? I am not even one of those people- I'd call my style that of the "funky-slob"- but 2% to glory makes me want to start handwashing and putting in the effort. They've got the goods, now I just need to instill the care habits. I also proposed consignment to the owner, who said "Why not?" though I have yet to drop things off. I'm just happy she's even into the idea, because I see no other way to continue shopping there 'til I have secured a big girl jerb. Though soon as I do, I'll be prowling this joint on the reg. I almost hesitate to publish this review...I picture duking it out with some faceless lady customer for ownership of the woolen rust-colored bathing suit that I hypothetically decide I must have. I'm looking forward to it :).

I just wanted to jump in headfirst and buy everything even though i didn't have a single dime on me. They definitely don't sell filler stuff here! everything is quality awesome stuff. Yes, it's pricey for what it is. usually i'd say "hell naw" and the odds are pretty good that i won't be able to shop here as much as i want, but like i said, there is good stuff here. a lot of the clothes are set up in sections in the shelves to go together. everything about the store is very appealing. as soon as i walked in i exclaimed "i didn't know this place was here!" and one of the girls who worked there looked up from what she was doing and smiled and chatted with me about their hours, etc. very nice, well dressed people here that aren't pretentious or rude! everything else about it is pretty straight forward. i'm just excited to find a nice place close to home that i don't have to dig for hours to emerge with only one good thing!
